JCAs have poured over the images from J.Crew's Fall 2011 collection (refer to the "J.Crew's Fall 2011 Lookbook {part II}" post).
A big "thanks!" to Suzy (in this post) who let us know that J.Crew finally posted the Fall 2011 Lookbook on their website (click HERE to check it out). To pre-order any of the items, call 800-261-7422.
They even have a presentation video to check out. To view the whimsical video, click here.
Also, "thanks!" to Desert Flower who shared a related email sent to select customers on Friday. The subject of the email is "VIP look: our fall 2011 design presentation and Jenna's Polaroid snaps".
I said it before, will say it again: Trench coats, maxi & knee length skirts, trouser legs, capes! And the colors! I am in l.o.v.e.
What are your thoughts on the upcoming Fall items? Are you excited for what's to come? Do you dislike or like any of them? Which items were you hoping to see? :)
Wearable and what pretty colors. Loves it!
ReplyDeleteLook #4 makes me want to poke my eyes out. ICK!
ReplyDeleteLoving the jacquard pants, but they're not practical for me, and my guess is the price point will be too $$$.
As stated previously, I'm stoked to see the Bright Dahlia color popping up for all!
Lovely coats, but I went a little coat crazy in 2011 so I don't need any more. I can't wait to wear my Stadium-Cloth peacoats, my Icon trench and my Lady Day in the beautiful Torch Orange color. Wheeeeee!
Overall, I'm really just not feeling the vibe. I like the return to classic fabrics and silhouettes, but the Lookbook didn't inspire or excite me.
FWIW, I may be biased by the fact that I went through about half of all the clothing I own last night in an epic try-on run. The sheer volume is startling, lol.
So I'm going to try really hard not to buy anything unless I really, really, REALLY love it. :D
Lovely orange coat!
ReplyDeleteOT- does anyone else find the 'sub' feature doesn't work? It stopped working for me yesterday afternoon, it seems. I subscribed to a couple of posts and I see nothing in my Inbox.

ReplyDeleteI think the cropped pants in the wool and the jacquard are lovely, but for someone in a location with normal seasonal changes, aren't they really only wearable for 2 months out of the year? Fabric too heavy-autumish for spring/summer, and your calves and ankles would be freezing if you wore them in the winter. (Don't think the pants really work styled with boots?) I would spring for them but probably won't be able to justify the price for something that could only be worn late sept-late november. Other stuff is ok...i think that camel colored trumpet skirt is going to be frumpy looking on all but the tallest of ladies.
ReplyDeleteLoving some of the pieces and can't wait to see more. Satin pumps with buckles too cute and the brown trousers perfect for work. The trench is so pretty. Of course I called and the trench is currently listed at $398-out of my reach as are the pretty satin shoes at $275. The PS said prices are approximate, but generally within $50 of the actual price.
ReplyDelete@Juliastyles - Glad to hear the price of those satin buckle pumps. Way out of my price range, but I love them! I have had my eye on those shoes for quite some time. Does anyone know what other colors they come in? The only ones I think I saw were brownish.
ReplyDeleteStene-The colors for the satin shoes so far brown, green and honey. Fun to dream.
ReplyDeleteI'm somewhat excited! It looks like they are returning to more classic, wearable pieces instead of the silliness of the past few seasons. I can see myself wearing several of those pieces and can once again use the models as style inspiration even if I wouldn't wear it exactly the same way. Let's hope they are done with the homeless chic! I love the wine colored full trousers, the shiny pants on the following page, and that trench. I can't wait to see the August or September catelog.
ReplyDeleteJuliestyles - OHHH excited for the green. Thank you for responding about the colors, now I can continue my dreaming :)
ReplyDeleteI do love the colors, especially paired with anything camel-colored or leopard print. I can't wait for fall now. It's 95+ degrees everyday here in the summer. I plan on stocking up on bright sweaters and cardigans.
ReplyDeleteI like everything except the dress in #6 which reminds me of a bedspread my Grandmother had. No offense to my Grandmother, I just don't want to wear the bedspread as a dress.
ReplyDeleteMy favorites are #3, #5, #7 (very Prisoner), #10, #17, #18, and #19. If I could receive any one garment for free, it would be the leather-sleeved coat in #19.
My husband is relieved to find out that I don't like any of the shoes.
Love the pants for look #2. According to the the SA, they are the cafe capris in wool herringbone. It will retail for $138. Regular sizes only. Fall collection should hit stores August 11th.
ReplyDeleteahhh fall! actual fall like temps are 4 months away for me but I do love the looks in the lookbook and have high hopes that it will quench my thirst for something more classic and worth my money from Jcrew. So fingers are crossed that they produce these items and the look as they did in the preview!
ReplyDeleteI of course love the coat just like everyone else but fear it is certainly a collection item.
#2 right off gave me hope, The dress is adorable in #11, great jacket in #12, I'm pretending I didn't see #13 or the pants in #16, cute dress with lots of styling opportunities #14, #18 love the look!
I have a friend that was at the fall preview event as a photographer and I can't decide how to approach him to see the pictures without revealing my jcrew addiction!
I like many of the items, but most of them are probably Collection, and therefore very expensive. I NEED that trench... but not for $400. :(
ReplyDeleteLove all the beautiful color and glad to see that Bright Dahlia will continue to be offered in the fall. :)
ReplyDeleteLove the colors, love the cut of the collarless coat -- don't mind omission of collars, but dreading finding out what else has been omitted (lining? hem reinforcement? seam allowance?). Will wait and see.
ReplyDeleteAnd shuddering in horror to note that "Commander in Chic" is back (on the page with Jenna's snaps).
Were the pants in look #4 stolen from Santa? I do love the color, though I think it feels more winter than fall.
ReplyDeleteHey Alexis, you should put up a poll and let us vote on the looks we like and the looks which make us want to poke our eyes out. :) #4 is not getting such rave reviews. I don't hate it as much as some others but it's definitely near the bottom of my list. It might just be the color combo.
ReplyDeleteI really like the pants from look 4. Might call...
ReplyDeleteOne more thing... loving all the skirts but I'm disappointed that JC seems to migrate towards a particular skirt length each season. While I can appreciate how amazing these just-below-the-knee skirts will look on taller women, and I know many JCAs are happy to see them, bringing home a fall wardrobe full of longer length skirts and cropped pants would be the quickest way to make my petite frame look like a tree stump.
ReplyDeleteOn a separate note, that Fairisle-type sweater in look #17 is so simple yet sooo cute!
Just talked to a PS and the first camel coat is Collection, wool-cashmere and $1200. It looked it, so wasn't surprised. The fab red dress is wool (not sure of any more detail) and $198. She said the red dress was one of the most popular inquiries.
ReplyDeleteHey Dara, at least you can have the skirts shortened! When they're too short to begin with there's often nothing you can do to make them longer. I am the queen of buying two skirts and putting them together to make a longer one, but it only works with certain skirts and J Crew has almost none that work. But I hear you about the lack of diversity.
ReplyDeleteI love the look of #9, especially the sweater.
ReplyDeletetamara.chicago, I imagine the only thing more frustrating than having to spend a fortune tailoring and shortening all your skirts would be having to purchase two and put them together! I truly commend you on the creativity but it's unfortunate that any woman should have to resort to such measures just to have skirts fit her body properly. (See, JC, this is why we need variety!)
ReplyDeleteJust took a second look through the lookbook and I think look #7 is the first complete look in a long time that I would wear straight out of the book. Stunning. May buy a lottery ticket tonight so I can preorder it in its entirety :)
Eeek I meant look #11
ReplyDeleteAs many of you, I have an Achilles heel for all things JCrew (well, most of the time) and after perusing the Fall Lookbook, I gotta say I'm not feelin' it!
ReplyDeleteI will patiently await the whole collection, but feel they dropped the ball.
Let's hope there are more inspirational pieces to come!
