WWD recently asked thirty designers, including J.Crew, to dream-up their perfect wedding dress that Kate Middleton would wear for her wedding to Prince William.
"Thanks!" to Isabelle (of the lovely Pink Lemonade blog) who shared the following sketch that J.Crew designed for Kate. To see other designers take, check out her "Designers sketch for Kate Middleton's Wedding Dress" post.
I think it is quite pretty in its simple design! I love the long sleeves and backless silhouette.
What are your thoughts on J.Crew's take for Kate's wedding dress? Is the simplicity elegant or boring for your taste?
perfect! very chic if you're going for the traditional, white bridal ensemble which she must.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for this post. What fun! The Valentino one all the way. Second choice would be Gucci. The JCrew one is very elegant but just too plain for my tastes.
ReplyDeleteLove the Valentino. I hope she picks it.
ReplyDeleteLove this! And, I love Kate. For some reason she reminds me of Carolyn Bessette Kennedy, classic and a little aloof.
ReplyDeleteIt's utterly perfect but she'll be dethroned if she doesn't wear a British designer's dress on the day!
ReplyDeleteIt makes her look a bit pregnant, no?
ReplyDeleteAnother vote for Valentino here.
Tabitha, you are right on. There's no way she could choose anything else for her wedding day. She's a beautiful woman, she'll look incredible in her wedding dress.
ReplyDeleteITA with Tabitha!
ReplyDeleteI love the simplicity of the JC sketch, too, but also agree with Tabitha. And on this of all days, when everything must be perfect, when all the dresses, shoes, accessories must be there on time, in the right sizes, right colors, no droopy hems, splitting seams ...sadly, there just may be more than one reason to buy British. le sigh.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure Kate doesn't want a wedding dress that will unravel at the seams....
ReplyDeleteI'm not seeing this on Kate at all. Backless, I doubt for the future Queen of England. As pretty as the Valentino is, I doubt she'd choose that either. She's very tall and thin, works at it, and I would guess Jason Wu or Gucci. I like the Vera Wang but it looks too innocent and Audrey for her, she 28, she could pull it off but I'm totally thinking she's going for a tall slender look.
ReplyDeleteLove the Badgley Mischka and Monique Lhuillier.... :)
ReplyDeleteVery pretty but c'mon she has a great body... this one is too subdued I think.
ReplyDelete@ Christy - That was funny!
ReplyDeleteI can still remember princess Diana's wedding I saw on TV when I was little (not too little). It was the biggest gown I've ever seen, with the longest train and all the bells and whistles...? I love simple designs but maybe that's not for the Royal wedding...
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to seeing the wedding.
Really? Why are J.Crew kidding themselves? NO WAY would Ms. Middleton choose a J.Crew gown. Absolutely will go with a British designer...
ReplyDelete(and I second the LOL @ Christy!)
