They are letting us know that their last "MUSTHAVE" promotion is being extended through Friday for all their brick & mortar (B&M) stores. That means an additional 30% off all sale items which happen to *not* be final sale! Wahoo!
The fine print includes the usual:
*Offer valid in J.Crew retail stores only. Offer is not valid at jcrew.com or J.Crew Factory stores. Offer does not apply to previous purchases or the purchase of gift cards. 30% off discount applies to sale items only. Offer valid through Friday, December 24, 2010, 11:59pm ET. Offer not valid on phone orders. Details of offer are subject to change.I am delighted to see this promotion be extended! It's such a great incentive to go shopping at J.Crew if you are already at the stores shopping for some last minute gifts. Although the thought of going to the shopping centers/ malls right now (just days before Christmas) is really unappealing to me. ;)
Will you stop by a B&M to take advantage of this latest promotion before it ends? If so, what items did you pick up?
Wow, if that's the case then there are definitely some deals to be had at the b&m. I saw them marking down items yesterday. I figured that was due to the end of the 30% off promo. Guess not! Drapey Sequin Tee was down to $59.99 before the 30% off.
ReplyDeleteI'm done with my Christmas shopping and my B&M usually sells out of my size quickly, so at this point I doubt I would even find much...no real incentive to go brave the mall crowds.
ReplyDeleteIRL: Which store did you see that markdown? That is a great price! :)
ReplyDeleteFFM: I am so with you! :)
I'm not feeling that brave! There hasn't been that much at my B&M except tees anyway. However, the men's section had lots of cords and merino sweaters - probably some great deals to be had for the guys!
ReplyDeleteAlexis - I was at Towson MD. I called & those tops were marked down yesterday at other stores too so you could try your local b&m first.
ReplyDeleteIRL: Thank you so much! :)
ReplyDeleteThis is OT (sorry): I called Anthro's CS hoping to find the two items that just went on sale but were gone online but neither are still available. I am so bummed. I really wanted the Raines heels (6.5) and the glowing leaf skirt (8 or 10) if anyone happens to see them. Please put them on hold for Wendy (whart03@hotmail.com). I'm not holding my breath, but you never know so I thought I'd ask. I should have gotten up at 3 am I guess. :)
ReplyDeleteAs for JC, I don't plan to make another trip until next week with new arrivals.
Considering that I already faced the Christmas crowds to visit my B&M yesterday I don't think I'll be taking advantage of this promo-- plus I already got some great deals. Any Tampa Bay area JCAs out there should def make their way over to the Int'l Plaza store; sale section is *packed.* Scored a Dulphine open cardi in olive moss (sold out in my size online) for $49.99 plus the 30% discount. Tons of embellished tees and tanks too.
ReplyDeleteOn another note-- do you ladies think that all of these promos mean that we *won't* be seeing the return of the extra 30% on Christmas Day (as usually happens)? If so I will be *bummed." Have reason to hope there are some gift cards coming my way...

ReplyDeleteI am swinging by the mall to pick up my drapey justine jacket (already paid for it yesterday before the 30% promo expired).
ReplyDeleteBut now that the promo is extended, I may browse around a bit more to see if anything else catches my eye.
I'd rather by something now and return later, than being stuck with final sale after the holidays
I may go to check it out. I heard from a friend that the store was totally picked over. But I have a return and if they did new markdowns, maybe I'll check it out. I have amazingly great luck at finding parking spaces wherever and whenever I go anywhere, so I'm not too worried about the crowds. :-)
ReplyDeleteExtra 50% off sale at my local Factory store, if anyone is near a Factory store might be worth checking out!
ReplyDeleteirl- thanks for the update on towson markdowns. i just might have to stop by after work tomorrow!
ReplyDeleteI have been to the mall & I lived to tell about it! lol.
ReplyDeleteStopped by the b&m this morning after my dr. appt since-- at 10:30ish it wasn't awful. I was happy to see the sale section well-stocked but sad when I realized nearly everything was a 0/2/XXS or a 12. Seriously. They had some stadium cloth coats, a buffalo-check coat and suiting in a 12. Flannel shirts in 12. Skirts in 12. Everything.
I saw one drapey sequin tee, black I think, and it was either a L or XL. Can't recall price.
I did notice they had the super 120s wool tuxedo dress, and I'm mad because I bought it for $50 on eBay last week thinking I got a deal -- now it's $49.99 in the store + 30% off! GRRR. But it is lovely and I highly recommend it.
Tried on the Haya sequin sweatshirt and just wasn't feeling it. I liked the heather dove color better than the darker gray, and I sized down to a Small and liked it much better than the fit of a Med (my usual size). But I just couldn't see when or where I'd wear it, and all the flipped-up sequins would drive me mad. They had a few of each color in pretty much every size.
Lots and lots of tees and matchstick/toothpick/bootcut cords. None in my size, of course, when I need pants desperately!
I made my returns (dream v-neck cardi, dried papaya, M; brown ruffalotta cami, 6; and darla top, 8) and walked out with a woolly ribbed turtleneck in the light gray color (have it in black and love it!) and also an infinity cardi in heather charcoal ($28 each after discount).
I wanted to splurge on Cosabella thongs for myself since you'll never find them that cheap again, but all my store had was Small/Meds in both color combos.
:-(
I did try on the Colletta coat and for me it definitely runs true to size. I tried the 10 on and it was too big. My lady day with thinsulate is my usual size (8) and it's uber-tight on me in the shoulders. I can button it, but I can't button it and sit down too. It may have to go.
Not much else to tell. If you have a question or are looking for something specific, pls. feel free to ask and I'll see if I remember.
OT again (sorry), but I found my Anthro items, no thanks to their customer service. I'm not sure why their computer systems shows none in stock anywhere when I found them. Anyway, happy girl here, now just hoping they fit. :)
ReplyDeleteElaine, what store were you at? I'm thinking about calling there since I'm a 12 to see what they have on hand. Thanks! Also, did you notice by chance if they had the double serge grey stripe skirt in a 12? Thanks again!
ReplyDeleteWanted to add that Ann Taylor had 40% off your total purchase in-store, as did GAP. The promos this season are almost overwhelming!
ReplyDeleteJRuby I was at the Raleigh, NC store (Crabtree Valley Mall). I don't recall seeing that skirt, but I did see a very pretty tweed skirt in a 12 ($79.99, I think) and I'm pretty sure it had a matching jacket in the same size. It was not the Notte tweed and I don't recall seeing it before. IIRC there were not any double-serge skirts that I saw but do ask, as I overheard the SA saying they did have a few sale items off the floor. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteBoth my little girls are sick and I don't want to take them to the crowded mall... besides I'm sure my store is picked over since it's the only JC down here in OC.
ReplyDeleteElaine,
ReplyDeleteWhat do you wear under your woolly ribbed turtlenecks? Just a cami? I bought both colors on promo and really like them, but am considering returning them since they're so sheer. TIA!
I've heard murmurs of a sample sale in the UMall in Chapel Hill, NC on January 8. Anyone know any details on this?
ReplyDeleteO/t: heard from a friend who had contacted Madewell inquiring about adding more b&m's in MD. They replied to her stating they're planning on opening a store in Towson MD Summer to Fall 2011!! I'm really excited!! More of a reason to make a trip to the b&M more often.
ReplyDeleteI got a pair of Moto pants for $19.99 plus 30% off. Tried them on just because they were so cheap... they will look cute with boots but not sure I will wear them with normal shoes because they aren't as flattering that way. Sale section was very picked over, though.
ReplyDeleteJackie, I've been wearing camis or sheer long sleeve t-shirts under my wooly ribbed turtlenecks.
ReplyDeleteDidn't make it to the store, but I did just get 2 of my 30% off orders in the mail. I'll report back after I try it all on.
The mall was all but empty at 8:30- AM! :) Even so, I just couldn't work up the interest, even at 30% and no final sale. I did buy the black Montreaux ($21 after discount) and a couple of wooly blend tees (can't find them online) for $8. I'd love to get some more pj pants once those go on sale...
ReplyDeleteI'm a beast, I don't wear anything under my woolly ribbed turtles except a nude-colored bra! It's a bit more obvious on the black one than the gray. I just figure, well, people know I have a bra on. At least I have one on. If they want to stare, have at it, there isn't anything to see, LOL!
ReplyDeleteJruby18 - The double serge stripe pencil skirt (31933) was catalog/online only. If there are any in stores, it's because of returns.

ReplyDeleteAs a previous poster noted, the drapey sequin tee is down to under $39 after the second discount. (Pacific Place, Seattle.) I'm mostly an online shopper, and this didn't jump out at me on the computer, but I was in the store to pick up a couple of stocking stuffers and found that the tee had just been marked down. For that price I could not resist the heirloom pink. But after this: absolutely no more sequins!
ReplyDeleteI could justify the purchase because my 30% off cardholder order arrived yesterday and the Luminesce earrings were really ugly IRL. In the photo they look substantial yet delicate and a pretty pink, but IRL they were flashy Las Vegas Grandma and not in a good way. Never would have purchased these if I'd seen them in person.
Headed over to my B&M at lunch today to look for some cozy new pjs on sale, and while the only pjs they had were still full price and not very exciting, I was shocked by how much stuff I found that I wasn't looking for and how quickly I found it all. Dulphine open cardi for $34.99, Moss tweed pencil skirt for $55.99 (loved the mini version but it sits awfully on me due to the seam down the front!), Notte tweed pencil skirt for $41.99 and 2 tissue turtlenecks for $13.99 each. I feel like quite the thrifty shopper! Hopefully this will keep me happy for awhile because I refuse to go the final sale route. Too many wrong turns in the past. ;)
ReplyDeleteJust an fyi...my daughter and I stopped by the Barton Creek Mall (Austin, TX) today specifically to check out the add'l 30% off sale items. The sale section was small with some additional items scattered throughout the store. However, I found several things to try on (a tee I had never seen before with mauve colored tulle flowers on the front and some green printing on the shirt for $19.99 , a sequin pocket tank for 9.99 and a scarf (pink and blue plaid that was supposedly 25% off). Also tried on a FP pink check perfect shirt (I have not seen this on the website but the checks are large! and so cute!). My daughter found a sweater. When we took our items to check out, the SA had already started ringing up our order when another SA came up and showed her something on a piece of paper. She then informed us that our ENTIRE purchase (including FP items!) was now 30 % off!! This was at about 2:30 pm today. If you have any FP items you are wanting this promotion is worth checking out! We are planning to visit the other JC in our area (at the Domain) on Thursday and see if they have the same deal going on!
ReplyDeleteLooking for the Donagal Tweed Schoolboy blazer in grey, size 0...anyone see it in the stores? Could you let me know or put it on hold? Much appreciated!!!

Stopped by the Copley Place store and grabbed a few items with the promotion. It looked like there was a pretty good selection, if you were a 2 or a 12. My 6/8 was pretty hard to find in most of the sale items.
ReplyDeleteThe Knit Houndstooth Pant (34257), which was still FP online two days ago (just got marked down to $99.99), was $39.99 + 30% off in the store. I had looked at them a few times before, but thought I would hate the silhouette. Then I finally tried them on. These are one of the most comfortable pairs of pants I have ever owned! Even though they're 100% wool, they feel like a pair of sweatpants. And I sized down in them to get a more fitted, 50s type of silhouette. Very much worth the $28.
I also grabbed the Prince of Wales capella coat (32921) for $70, and the Martie herringbone trouser in super 120s (28894) for $38, although I'm not totally set on the trouser yet.
