As for me, I already took advantage of this offer! The Camden Leather Brogues (Item 23936; was $250.00; select colors now $99.99) have been calling my name for sometime now. I just think they are adorable and finally the price is right for me to bring a pair of the Light Ginger home. :)
Will you take advantage of this latest promotion? If so, what items did you pick up?
Sale prices are all over the place - some new markdowns, some items that have been on promo for a while (cashmere cowlneck) are back to FP. Let the return/rebuy frenzy commence! ;)
ReplyDeleteSeriously though, it's good to see free shipping included with these promos.
silver_lining, so glad you pointed out that the cashmere cowlneck is back to full price! I just placed an order on Sunday on all sale items with the 25% off promo and I was wishing I'd waited for this promo, but since I ordered the cowlneck and couldn't have gotten it for a lower price today I'm happy I bit when I did. I do wish they would stop placing items on sale and then sending them back to full price though! Makes me feel like I'm constantly policing the sale section ;)
ReplyDeleteSpeaking of the cashmere cowlneck, has anyone received this yet in an XXS? I find that XS sweaters are always too large in the body for me but I'm worried the sleeves on the XXS may be a little short... I've been experiencing that with the tissue tees this season.
I grabbed a couple tees. Great prices! Didn't feel like spending $150 to make free shipping so I limited my order to under $50. Still happy though!
ReplyDeleteI got another pair of Waverly chinos and a couple of tissue turtlenecks. Still have free shipping on my account so didn't have to hit the $150 mark, which was great since there wasn't anything else of interest. Things are getting picked over with all these promos. Wonder what will be left after Christmas...
ReplyDeleteDara,
ReplyDeleteI receieved my cashmere cowlneck in an XXS last week. The sleeves are definitely not short! I have to fold them up about 3-4 inches maybe. I'm pretty petite overall, but I doubt the sleeve length will be a problem for you. HTH!
Cashmere cowl neck sweater was on sale for $168 yesterday and now is back up to regular price. SO annoying.
ReplyDeleteOops - that's already been discussed!
ReplyDeleteOrdered a few things for myself, my husband and my son. Let's see if they update the sale section on thurs.
ReplyDeleteIf anyone wants a Colletta coat, they are on sale in a few colors.
I'm waiting for a delivery today. Some of what I ordered is on sale, so if it fits or I like it, I'll be among the rebuy/return group!
ReplyDeleteIf I wanted to order random items, I'd wait for a site update anyway. Better yet, if I was really patient I'd wait until 2011 for all the returns to hit the site.
Its not Final sale right??
ReplyDeleteHas anyone tried the Lombardy driving mocs? I am looking at the black leather pair. I am in desperate need of a pair of black flats and am torn between driving mocs and ballet flats. Are they good quality?
ReplyDeleteAlso would love to hear thoughts on the drapey stripe tank. Usually wear a XS, 0 or 2 in tops - wondering if it would be a good idea to size down to the XXS. How "drapey" is it? I don't like things too baggy.
Thanks!
Any advice on the capella coat? I keep looking at the Prince of Wales one. Talk me out of it, please!
ReplyDeleteYay for another promo and with free shipping, too! :)
ReplyDeleteLadies, how does Double-cloth salon coat fit? Did anybody review it already?
ReplyDeleteSort of on topic, here's my 2c on the promos and mark ups and downs: orderd the chevron-pleat shirt on the GIFTS promo week and half ago. They were $39.99 so take 30% off, I figure, why not. As soon as that promo was over, they got marked down to $24.99. With the 25% off promo last week and this week's 30%, I would have saved an additional $10 each shirt, if I had $150 worth of stuff to buy/re-buy (some of the stuff I ordered on the GIFTS promo are sold out now) so I don't spend the savings on shipping. Sigh. Just hope all the pieces in the order are shipped...correctly.
ReplyDeleteZoryana, I posted a review of the Salon coat in last week's review post. IMO it runs just a touch small through the chest and waist. If you have an average-to-smaller chest and a small waist you are trying to define, I'd go with your regular size. Otherwise, I might go a size up.
ReplyDeleteHere's my review from last week
Received the Double-cloth Salon coat today. It is a beautiful coat. I adore the shape - it's perfectly nipped at the waist (in fact, it fits a bit small through the waist) with a tulip-shaped bottom that gives my small boyish frame an hourglass look (and looks like I have a bit of a butt). I can imagine that hippier/more pear-shaped ladies would find it unflattering. My problems with the coat are 1) it actually has no pockets, despite the fact that the description claims "on-seam pockets" - there are just flaps. Not practical for a cold-weather coat, IMO. My other problem is that the double-cloth in general is not particularly warm - it's the about the weight of a thick sweatshirt. Not winter material.
Anyone have any IRL pictures (or links to them) of the bonbon coat? Thanks
ReplyDeleteI got the Confetti ruffle shirt, Factory Loretta ruffle shirt and a couple turtleneck tissue tees. I've had my eye on the ruffle shirts for a couple weeks and the extra 30% off the sale prices.
ReplyDeleteBefore I left for work I had the Microspun cowlneck tee in my cart but by the time I got into the office, they were already sold out in my size and color. Things are going fast!
I just want to post because my word verification is, wait for it, 'poopp'.
ReplyDeleteSeriously, I'm going to have to do some returns now with all these markdowns, bought some things just to try on because they are not available in-store. I don't know why J Crew doesn't just price things lower, shoppers are obviously not going to spend more than $100 on flimsy shirts with bits of sequins.
I finally got the Curator pants for $34. I ordered two sizes (no fs) to choose from as I gained some weight since the last time that I tried them in store (when they were still FP).
ReplyDeleteAlso got the Soleil necklace as Xmas gift for myself (husband has no time for buying gifts) and the amour tank as ride-along (tried it in store and loved it but not willing to pay $39 for another ruffled tank. $16 is much better).
Love that there is no FS!
Hey J. CREW LOVELIES--I was JUST in my local store and they are having 25% OFF EVERYTHING--meaning full priced items and markdowns and the markdowns are really marked down--I got the Goldenrod Brocade top for $22.00! check out my blog www.loveyourlifeandyourlooktoday.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteNothing right now as I bit on the 25% sale, but I have more pics on my blogs of several items I tried in the store.
ReplyDeleteI am returning all the coats I just bought in protest. I wasted my 30% cardholder discount... when now I can get the same item for $30 less. So the cardholder discount really was nothing. UGH.
ReplyDeleteAlso, if anyone is considering buying a coat in rainforest green, it is NOT as pictured. At least on my monitor. It looks like it has a teal tinge to it but the rainforest green colletta coat I got is just like, forest green. Not as pretty of a color as pictured. It's blah.
ReplyDeleteYoga girl, do you mind saying which store has the brocade top at the lower price? I found one at my local JC, but it's 49.99 before the discount.I'd like to ask for a price match if possible. Thx!
ReplyDeleteMy husband's only jacket is a North Face that I'd bought him a few years back and I've decided he needs a warmer / dressier upgrade.
ReplyDeleteI'm debating either the university coat or the pea coat. Does anyone have any reviews / opinions on these coats? And possibly seen them marked down from retail in a store?
Thanks so much in advance!
More merry christmas to me, eek ... I finally bought the gray double-serge pencil skirt, I know I'll knock cost per wear down to, mmm, nothing! lol. Also got a dream cardigan in dried papaya (?) whether it's a keeper will depend on what the color looks like in person. Oh and the ruffalotta cami, which also will go back if I don't love it. Have not had any luck finding more Coralie camis and the Darla cami is so sad-looking with its wee ruffle toodling limply down the front....sigh...
ReplyDeleteCMG - Sometimes the SAs don't update sale items w/the correct sticker price. The cash register system is pretty good about having the prices in the system. When I see prices here on JCA and go into the store, they ring up as stated here on the blog despite what the ticket says. Hope this is true in your case. It shouldn't be a struggle to get that price. And to all JCAs...if you're unsure of a price or hope something is on sale, ask someone to scan it in the register for you. I bring up any questionables with me and let them know I want to check price first. I politely decline if I don't want it and don't feel bad one iota
ReplyDeleteThe store is indeed still 25% off everything, no other caveats. Cords were 29.99 plus 25% off, so only $22.50; also picked up the Traversa cardi for the same price, as well as the sherpa hoodie for men and the snowflake sequin tee for a fun, wear it once so who cares if it falls apart holiday tee :)
ReplyDeleteThe prices are nutty. I ordered the shadow-flecked turtleneck this morning (on sale for $50, about $35with the discount). It is still fp in stores.
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone have any fitting opinions about the velvet ruby blazer? I like it quite a bit but I remember some people having negative opinions about it and just wanted to check. I'm also not sure what size I need. I've gotten 6's in tops that were slightly tight, but I've ordered 6's in coats that were too loose. I would only plan on wearing a thing tee under the blazer in order to minimize bulkiness under velvet. Any help would be appreciated!!!!!

ReplyDeleteHas anyone received or reviewed either the washed crepe 'Nanine' or washed crepe 'Jane' dress? I'm on the hunt for a NYE stunner! I am in love with the subtle sheen of the material, but leery of ordering without any other bits of defining information. Help!
ReplyDeleteOT: Here is video with Michelle Obama wearing the Sparklegate cardigan. I beleive it's sold out.
ReplyDeletehttp://news.yahoo.com/video/politics-15749652/michelle-obama-takes-gift-ideas-for-the-president-23486436
OK I have no will-power and went to a B&M (had to do returns anyway) and got these, all extra 25% off:
ReplyDelete- Heidi dress in wool flannel (33587): $49.99 (37.50 after discount)
- Super 120s pétale dress (32725): $49.99
- Oona herringbone shift dress
(32729): $69.99
All great work dresses, IMO, and the prices are right!
I also got the bronzed leopard perfect shirt for $19.99, before 25% off -- score!
Lots of nice necklaces priced at $29.99 to $69.99, all before discount.
It was all almost worth braving the freezing cold and wind for!
Kelly, Feeling J. Crewzy's blog had a review.
ReplyDeletehttp://twhlokjf.blogspot.com/2010/09/velvet-ruby-jacket-trying-to-make-it.html
I ordered the haya sequin sweatshirt (finally!), a pair of toothpick jeans, and a crewcuts dress. :) I could have ordered more, but had to limit it since I still have some gifts to buy.
ReplyDeleteGah! The Langford 2 tone wool oxfords are on sale now with an extra 30% off but by the time I had gotten an answer from my husband as to whether he thought they were worth $140, they were gone in my size. Still 9.5 and 10's left.
ReplyDeleteBought some shirts for hubby and the child...
math teacher: yay! Know you have wanted that sweatshirt for a while now. Are y'all finally getting some cooler weather in the lowcountry so you can wear it?
ReplyDeleteCatrina, I ordered the Lombardy driving mocs and am returning them. I have both a black and brown pair of driving mocs from several years back (with a chain across the top) and they are so comfortable! Thought a pair of the Lombardy would be a good back-up/replacement pair at the price. However, there was a stiff piece of leather on the inside of one of the shoes that let me know instantly that they would rub a blister on that foot. At the price, though , they are worth ordering if they have your size. Perhaps the pair you get will not have this same defect! Good luck!
ReplyDeletePS. They run slightly small. I wear an 8 1/2 - 9 and ordered the 9 and they were snug. Would probably stretch and be fine, if not for the defect.
AppGal, I know our cold is nothing compared to yours, but it is COLD here for this time of year! Monday and today have been highs in the 30's, which is know is warm for some parts of the country, but cold for here. I'm thankful that I still have my Ohio coats. :) Plus, you know our classrooms are always cold - can't figure out why they won't give us some heat! (Although I have found a way to make it run for a short time - shhh! :D) Have you made it to school this week? I actually mentioned you today - that you have already had to make up days on Saturday and some of your Christmas break. Which is a HUGE bummer!
ReplyDeletemath teacher: That is cold for your area! My parents in Columbia were complaining of it being in the 20s at night. And no, we haven't been to school since last saturday...funny how the one day we could go this week was on a weekend :) We're out again tomorrow, and there's supposed to be another snowstorm on its way. Sigh...
ReplyDeleteAlexis, I have the light ginger Camden leather brogues and they are really pretty, well-made shoes and so comfortable. I wore them with capris, shorts and skirts all summer and with skinnies into the fall. You are getting a great deal at that price. Score!
ReplyDeleteAppGal, I'm sorry. When I lived in Ohio, I loved a good snow day every now and then, but we never had so many that we had to make up the days. I can't imagine being trapped in my house (as I've read on your blog), especially all by myself. I'm glad you at least have Blue to keep you company (my dog's name, too). :) Hopefully you'll make it back to school this week.
ReplyDeletehard to keep up! helpful info, though, thanks, everyone
ReplyDeleteHello everyone! Any thoughts on whether sale will be restocked? Wanted to order some sweaters and there is almost no selection left in my size.
ReplyDeleteSweetPeaches - I received the washed crepe Jane dress and while I loved the material and style it is way too short for me. I'm 5'7" so not that tall but it was really short on me. When you walk it opens a lot in the front. I will have to return it because even for the summer I don't feel comfortable in such a short dress. Customer Service said the skirt lenght is 13 1/2 inches from the waistband.
ReplyDeletetxmom, thank you so much for your opinion! I decided against them - I was really on the fence and even though they're a good price, I'd rather wait for something I love!
ReplyDeleteI hope the quality hasn't declined too much (as it has in other areas), I had two pairs of driving mocs in the past that I loved!
CrewGurl, I have given up trying to predict what will happen w/restocks. There simply is no rhyme or reason to any of it. Not the pricing, not the promotions, not the inventory -- none of it. Total crapshoot. Urgh.
ReplyDeleteArgh, bit on this promo. I'm shocked to see back to back promos for so long, but it is definitely working (at least for me!). During the GIFTS promo, I had bought the snakeskin passport cover and luggage tag in mossy oak as a small present to myself. They were full price - 30%, so I figured why not.
ReplyDeleteNow that they have been marked down, I re-ordered them and will probably head to the B&M tomorrow to return the originals. I had trouble finding enough stuff to meet the free ship minimum, but ended up getting the cashmere scarf (31887) in heather dusk, the bronzed leopard cami, and the heirloom pink jewelry pouch (I had the pink JC jewelry pouch from a few holiday seasons ago but somehow it has gone completely MIA... sad!).
Has anyone seen the bronzed leopard cami IRL? If you have reviews I'd love to hear them!
Woohoo I managed to snag one of the last few Exhibitor Mega Totes in Beechwood for...get this.. $175! That's $200 off the original price! An amazing steal and I can't wait for it to arrive :)
ReplyDeleteMath Teacher,
ReplyDeleteYes, it is way too cold for our area. My poor southern boys are so ill equipped to dress for this cold. I had to respond, because a teacher friend of mine was just telling my how they got around the preprogrammed heating unit. I bet you use the same method ;)
Le sigh. Why do I only decide to purchase at end of the day on items I have been stalking for ages?! Only to visit and they are sold out. As a jca I should know better! Part of me feels I do this for the hunt lol
ReplyDeletejcrewlove: count me in. I still have stuff in my cart but haven't pulled the trigger yet. I'm not sure if I want to stay up for an update if it happens...
ReplyDeleteI'm glad to see another promo with free shipping but I'm not looking forward to final sale at all in few weeks.
Tell me if this is bizarre: I went to put a pair of shoes in my basket. They were available in every size except for my shoe size, so I put them in my basket at one size up. I clicked back on the shoes section a few minutes later, and only one size is now available for that pair. There's no way they could've sold out in just a 5 minute span of time, at 4am pacific time. I wonder if they're hiding inventory......it's just so weird. I am POSITIVE I didn't make a mistake when looking at the available sizes before the sizes all disappeared.
ReplyDeleteAny reviews for the Merino dore cardigan and the cashmere femme cardigan? Femme's 3/4 sleeves are throwing me off.
ReplyDeleteand sizing recs please!
ReplyDeleteThank you ladies!
Kelly,
ReplyDeleteI had have stuff disappear that fast as well. It does happen.
Not to be said JCrew does change/hide things but more often than not stuff can sell out really fast. I had three scarves in my basket this a.m. within a few minutes of adding another item...all were gone. No order for me therefore.......
A - I have the cashmere femme cardigan in heather tide, and I LOVE it. For comparison, I also have the Cody, which is somewhat similar. The femme has a more feminine fit (which makes sense :) ). The cody was more of a shrunken boyfriend fit. I took the same size in both, S, which is my normal size.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, while not necessarily seasonal, the 3/4 sleeves are so flattering with the gathered yoke and everything, that I love them. I'm waiting for the honeycomb color to go back on sale, and I think I'm going to grab that too! :)
HTH!
AJR - Thank you so much! That is the color that I wanted and I just ordered it with a few ride alongs.
ReplyDeleteThank you!
A - no problem, I hope it works out for you too! Such a gorgeous color! :)
ReplyDeleteHello ladies! I just paid a quick visit to the b&m at the somerset collection in troy, mi and am pleased to report that the 30% off sale has been extended to b&ms! unfortunately it was a quick lunch-break stop so I didn't have time to try on or purchase anything but I did see the lovely little "30% off" signs in the sale section of the store. I will be visiting another (smaller) b&m this evening and am wondering whether there will be 30% off there as well...happy shopping!
ReplyDeleteHi A - I have the merino dore sweater. It's a nice, soft wool and fits true to size. I have the gray and didn't know at first if I wanted to keep it, because of the buttons. They're definitely a bright gold color, adds bit of a weight to the sweater, but not tacky or cheap. I decided I could live with it because I love J. Crew's merino. I think it's a good buy on sale.
ReplyDeleteHmm...my store was having extra 30% off of sale items but their was specific signage for sale items but no additional 25% discount. I honestly forgot about how some stores have the +25% off everything! :d
ReplyDeleteGot a chalet turtleneck sweater in the very pretty rich plum. I love the collar. The sweater wasn't too itchy on me, which is surprising since I'm usually sensitive to that. They are sold out online in most sizes, but there was one small and one medium left at the Washington Square Mall store in Tigard, OR (503 624 6386 ) for $49.50. On-line all colors, save for the dusty pink, are still $68
my 'MUSTHAVE' order has already shipped out. should be here tomorrow (as long as UPS doesn't get snowed out!). will report on the dream cardigan and other items ASAP. :)
ReplyDeleteJCA'S! The cashmere crewneck, popover, and femme are marked down now! Sorry if this is already been covered! I just got 6 cashmere pieces (couldn't decide color) for $420. They added a bunch of colors to the crewneck. I hope I am a small in the crewneck and femme, I am an Xsmall in the popover. Check them out!
ReplyDeleteugh, I just bit on this promo when I told myself I wouldn't after I'd been disappointed by my last few orders. A few things I'd had my eye one went on sale, and I couldn't resist. Any feedback on the chalet knits? How's the quality? itchiness factor? I picked up the Chalet zip sweater. I hadn't been interested in it until i saw it in one of the older catalogs and thought it was adorable. It's <$30 with the promo, so I figured it was worth a shot.
ReplyDeleteI leapt at the 30% off and free shipping to buy some essential chinos and and oxford shirt for my son. Then I checked the prices I paid on Nov 27 . The chinos have gone up from $51 to $65 and the shirt from $48.75 to $68. So much for 30% off!

ReplyDeleteWhen are new arrivals expected??
ReplyDeleteAli,
ReplyDeleteNot until January when resort wear rolls out. (I believe.)
Remember the links to irl pics! Check out this post, which I have updated when I can. For example, I got measurements for the cute looking drapey stripe tank. The caramel looks interesting.
ReplyDeleteAnyone interested in the Galaxy purse? The price gone down from $395.00 to $249.99 today. But it's still too expensive for me even with extra 30% off. Do you think the price will still go down any further?
