Thanks! I can't wait to check this store out! :D
ReplyDeleteInteresting...I'll have to check it out. I wonder who their neighbors are on Newbury (i.e. which block).
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to check one of these out! I wish they would open one in Princeton...will have to check out the Soho one very soon. Thanks for the info:)
ReplyDeleteI stopped in at the Madewell in Atlanta and found a fantastic fitted wool blazer with a cool military/equestrian vibe. Very versatile and though it'll be getting too warm here to wear it, it's a timeless piece and I'm so glad to have found it. It's called the Tokyo blazer, priced around $215, but with the 15% off coupon, paid aprx $183.
ReplyDeleteI had to pass up the Ecole & Maggie blazers last fall because they both were too snug in the shoulders for me. So glad to have stumbled on the Tokyo blazer as I think it is quite a stylish, sharp & classic style. Just wanted to share; if you see it in the new Madewell in Boston, I'd be interested in what you think of it.
Anonymous at 5:22 -- Madewell is really close to the Mass Ave end of things; I think it's right near Sonsie. I'll probably try to swing by tomorrow (I got a coupon in the mail) but prices looked expensive online!
ReplyDeleteI know this is a J.Crew lovers website, but as a fellow lover, I HAD to pass on my "latest" find to others on this site:
ReplyDeleteMartin & Osa has jeans for $50 bucks on their site. When I first browsed, I liked the washes but was unsure of the fit since I'm a big JC Matchstick girl. However, recently M & O had a 30% off + free ship deal, so I took the plunge and bought a pair of their "slim" fit jeans in the same size I order matchsticks for $35.
The jeans came today and are AMAZING. Really, and no I'm not some M & O spokeswoman. They fit comparably to JC matchstick, have a really nice feel and wash, and are of *great* quality. For $50 bucks ($35 if you can find another coupon), they are a STEAL.
Just FYI for those in need of a pair of skinny/slim fit jeans but don't want to spend nearly $100 for a nice pair!
Urban is 361 so it has to be super close. I'm debating whether to stop by tomorrow. I'm not sure Madewell clothing is for me but I'm really intrigued. I was actually on Newbury today, I wish I'd remembered the store was opening tomorrow, I would've done a walk-by!
ReplyDeleteJcrew outlet in Vacaville, CA was selling a few pairs of Madewell bootcut jeans. Sizes available were 25, 26, 27. In case anyone is looking for them....
ReplyDeleteI think the last thing the world needs right now is another store selling run-of-the-mill clothes.
ReplyDeleteI thought I'd pop in to leave a review of the new Madewell store in Boston; I was only there for about five minutes (including both upstairs and downstairs browsing) -- so that should tell you something!
ReplyDeleteThe store decor was more casual than J.Crew -- white and wood tones, navy/white striped dressing room curtains, etc. Pretty basic, almost kind of nautical.
The apparel was... completely uninspiring. Lots of tees and jeans, and some mediocre tops -- cardigans, a patterned top or two... kind of like Ann Taylor or something -- really not very interesting at all. I looked at a couple of very lightweight scarves in interesting color/patterns, but for $38, they were completely overpriced. Seriously, the material was SO lightweight -- and cotton, not even silk/cashmere/wool blends.
I basically felt like they were selling Old Navy-quality clothes at regular J.Crew prices, and nothing was even that cute. I didn't actually see anyone buying anything while I was in the store, but like I said, I just did a quick once-around and then left. I didn't even see people trying things on, though.
So, we'll see how the store does...
I will cosign on the Martin + Osa love. Their jeans are the truth! I love their trouser jeans and the fabrics are lovely. If you sign up with them, you will get sent 30% coupons on a regular basis. And free shipping and returns, what is not to love?
ReplyDeleteI shopped at the Soho location over the weekend and posted some reviews and pictures of the Spring collection on my blog. While some of their stuff is overpriced, they did have a really great winter sale where everything was an additional 40% off :)
