Darlings, is it time for a J.Crew coupon code?

Yes it is that wonderful time!

A big "thanks!" to Anon at 8:31AM (in this post) & Ameilia who let us know that J.Crew is offering free shipping on orders of $150+ with promo code IRW-989. This offer expires 3/14/09. :)

  1. THANKS for the code. I probably will not use it, as I still have a JCrew hangover from the holidays.... "turkey" "hohoho" "jingle", you get the drift... I am still not feeling the spring urge for spring clothes. Maybe it will come when the economy feels like it is on the upswing?

  2. can anyone tell me how the vintage slim jeans fit and if they would recommend purchasing them. I'm a siz 6/8 and bit curvy. thanks a bunch.

  3. Letitia-I took my regular size 26 in the vintage slims. That is the same size I wear in Joe's jeans and AG. I'm a 0 in JC's cords and chinos. I'm curvy and for me the vintage slims are cut a bit small in the bottom and hip and a little roomy around the waistband. I expect the hip fit will relax with wear. Not too small in the thigh, thank god. I really like them. There is an irl pic on my blog but I have not done a review yet

  4. FYI, for those who are curious as to fit and wear of some of the new spring skirts I have reviewed the Wendy skirt, denim pencil skirt, and tissue ruffle cardigan over on my blog. fashionable yet frugal

  5. Anyone have any advice? I bought a Jackie cardigan today at a B&M and they charged me $64. I told him the online price was $59.50, and he said he could not honor the online price. Does anyone know if the Jackies were part of the "30% off sweaters" promotion? Is there anything I can do? It just bigs me on principle...

  7. I know this is OT, but does anyone have a Red Julianne dress in a size 10 they don't want? My 8 is somewhat tight..can I still blame that on the holidays????? Let me know I wanted to wear on Valentine's!

  8. Wondering if anyone has had any luck calling CS when an item of interest is "sold out" online? I notice items often reappear next update despite prior day stating-sold out..? I always seem to be too late :(
Thanks in advance to anyone who can shed some light on this.

  10. Have to speak out on this ... I love this blog and visit every day. It's amazing how supportive JCAs are w/info, reviews, tips, even offers to purchase and ship coveted items for others! I learn something every day, my wardrobe has benefited, and I have tried to give a tip or two back when I can contribute.

Don't let recent nasty or weird (7:35) posts ruin the spirit of what's here ... and to those of you who feel the need to boast about how thin or rich you are from your anonymous keyboards, you are pathetic.

  11. Thanks for the nod, Alexis. You misspelled my name though :( I am kind of use to it.

I won't be using the code either. I am waiting for some newer arrivals. There just isn't anything I must have right now. I do like the heirloom cashmere cardigan but probably won't be buying it/

  12. @ 8:35, it's just a site that promotes her novel. The first paragraph provided is a prelude of sorts.

  13. I may use this code. I like to try out items I can't get at my b&m, and items I may wait to purchase again during final sale. Also, these codes are great for trying out swimsuits. Who wants to pay shipping for swimsuits when they're such an iffy item. Thanks for the post!

  14. Do you think more people will become aware of Alexis' site since her TalkingShopping interview and post here to get traffic to their sites?

I'm not being mean-spirited, it just came to mind because I too Googled Beth Dunn's site since she posted it here.

  15. Interestingly I orderd 7 things from J.Crew today and 5 of them AREN'T final sale. What is this final sale nonsense they're pushing on us??

    ReplyDelete
  16. Lee: are you saying you ordered FS items but they were not designated as FS on the receipt? This happened on the last two items I received from FS too.

    ReplyDelete
  17. IRL:

Yes! The last two items were the only ones marked FS.

  18. i tried the codes and they didn't work when i put it in the code box and updated the order??

  19. Worked for me! Just ordered the Tweed Astor coat. Thanks for the code.

  20. Lee: I ordered several items during final sales, but there was only one marked FS. I could return the rest of my order and successfully get refund.

  21. I ordered a ton of stuff that was supposedly "final sale" as well, and when it came NONE of it was marked final sale! Thank goodness, because the bright yellow sparkly skirt I ordered because it was only $30 really evidenced a lack of judgement.

  22. Jen G.

I agree still have lots of winter stuff to wear and not feeling the spring urge one little bit. I mean, there is 5 inches of snow on the ground and it is COLD.

Plus, the economy. News from my hubby's big international company gets worse everyday. I mean, he is loosing benefits and bonuses as I type...such a shame. So I am cutting way back just in case.

  23. i got it to work...thanks!

  24. Ameilia: Sorry about that! I fixed the post with the correct spelling of your name. :)

  25. Anon@ 8:29, you just have to get up really early in the a.m. and be persistent to get the stuff you really want on sale. It's like a game and I'm finally starting to learn how to play it. I think that whenever the site "crashes", that is sometimes when they are restocking the sale stuff. When that happens, you must be ready! Also, don't hesitate (as I often do). There are alot of people who buy up all the good stuff whenever it's available and then they sell it on EBay. Keep trying and maybe you'll get lucky, but you must be fast!

  26. personally, free shipping is nice and all, but are they ever going to have another "turkey" or "jingle" aka percentage off an order? I'm struggling to get everything i want from these new arrivals, and a discount would really do the trick, as I think it would for many.

  27. A few posters had the Crocodile Cocktail jacket on their wishlist recently. Did anyone get it? I'd love to read a review or even comments.

    TIA

  28. I used the code-- thanks! (now I'm hoping we won't get a "CUPCAKE" or "HEARTS" tomorrow) I just wanted to order one FS thing, but to bring it up to the minimum amount I added more items, and ended up ordering four relatively expensive items, all FS... *sigh* Hopefully they will work out though!

Can I also just say here how much I enjoy this blog??? Thanks to everyone!

  29. p.s. Georgia girl-- I'm expecting the crocodile cocktail jacket to arrive early this week and will let you know how it is!

  30. Georgia Girl,

I got my crocodile jacket last week and returned it yesterday. The fabric was nice enough but I did not like the plasticy (cheap) looking buttons. I thought about changing them and maybe rebuying the jacket (a size down from what I ordered) if it goes on sale but not worth full price in my opinion.

  31. Hi, here's what I got from TJmaxx yesterday. Some of you have expressed interest in these items, so please let me know which item you want and your email address. Sorry I couldn't report back earlier. My baby's sick.

Each item is $19.99. Plus tax is $21.58. Some of you offered $10 shipping. That makes $31.58 a piece.

    - Chiffon pleated cardi
M and XL in putty, S and L (2) in navy.
    Golden roses skirt size 6 & 10
    - Lulu leather flats, 9, yellow

I checked before purchasing and these items seem perfect without any flaws. Was worried that with such cheap prices, there's something wrong with them. I still don't understand how they ended up at TJmaxx.

    Ok, let me know!

  35. Hi anon @ 11:33/11:40: Sorry to bug you again but another JCA tried emailing me today and it never came thru. Please let me know if you've tried to reach me. No rush, I know your baby is sick; I just didn't want your email to be lost in email outerspace. Thanks again! :)
