"Thanks!" to many of you, including Slastena, a., Anon at 9:56 AM, J.CrewAdorer, Anon at 12:29 PM, Bekah, & Anon at 1:35 PM (in this post), as well as Marietta, Julie & houndlvr67, who let us know about J.Crew's latest promotion.
J.Crew is offering 20% off orders of $175+ with promo code SHHH. This offer expires 2./14/09.
Happy {Valentine's Day} Shopping!
I just placed a large order this morning, using the FS code. I wonder if the SHHH code could be applied as well? I guess there's only one way to find out!
ReplyDeleteI had 2 things in my shopping cart but now they're gone... which is for the best b/c I really should not be buying anything (unless it's on deep discount at tjmaxx, hehe!)
ReplyDeleteI placed a large order this morning as well and got the 20% code about an hour later! I just called CS and they applied my coupon code for me, so just call and ask! HTH
ReplyDeletewas anyone able to get free ship + discount?
ReplyDeleteI wish J.Crew would make a permanent stance on whether or not they allow people to combine codes.
ReplyDeleteI blame J.Crew, but it bums me out when people post on here that they were able to combine codes when others are told no.
I know some people said that some items end up as not showing up Final Sale when they get the receipt. Has anyone noticed this with the lattice print dress?
ReplyDeleteno luck getting both the free ship and the 20% coupon to work. now i have to decide whether my order is worth it!
ReplyDeleteBefore the site redesign, I completed a couple orders where the CS rep combined % off with a FS code, but ever since the site redesign, I have been told no to combining codes.
ReplyDeleteI tried to get fs for under the $100.00 amount since I returned a large parcel and I got turned down 2x.
ReplyDeleteSo I used the $100.00 code and I was able to order a waitlisted item that is hidden on their site. I wished I could have spent more to use the 20% code but I have to wait to order the capris.
Dina,
ReplyDeleteI have some things that don't show up as final sale too. I called customer service and the CS rep told me that if it did not have the * by the item then I could indeed return it.
Grr...I used this code. I couldn't help it! My blue Zoey came back!
ReplyDeleteHas anyone purchased the Scattered-boule necklace? Shown here http://jcrewaficionada.blogspot.com/2009/01/what-inspires-jcrew-every-day.html
ReplyDeleteSince I saw this code I went online and looked at all the items in my shopping cart... but since you can find current expensive items now for pennies at TJMAXX it really makes me not want to buy anything from JCrew. If I am buying something this expensive at JCrew when it could possibly also go to TJMAXX for a ridiculously low price, well, let's just say the brand has effectively been delvalued for me. I have had a love affair with JCrew for a long time and spend 90% of my money there. But I am seriously not spending anymore money there at all. It is one thing to have items from many seasons ago, but the same season? At a place like TJMAXX!? There is nothing wrong with shopping at TJMAXX, but since JCrew has current items there, well, it makes me never want to shop at JCrew again.
ReplyDeleteDisclaimer: I am not trying to start anything on here, like I said I am not degrading people who shop at TJMAXX, what I am saying is that since current items are available there that JCrew, the brand, to me, has been devalued.
I ended up going with the FS code for $100. Honestly the only thing I really wanted was the eyelit print mini that just went on sale. Its really beautiful! I also ordered a waitlist item. I thought about using the 20% off but the other thing I want were not low in stock and bound to drop in price. I am not all that jazzed about the spring collection. I like the fresco mini but I bet it will drop in price too. The eyelit really is a quality looking piece.
ReplyDeleteJust thinking, how can you tell if an item is low in stock?
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone know where to get the contact information (email) for Mickey? I got the note one time with his email address or phone number, I don't remember, but I threw it away... I want to write an email to him. Anyone have any help on where to send it?
ReplyDeleteThanks!
Brand has been devalued: I think J Crew had excess inventory and they decided to sell it off to TJ. One way to get rid of inventory IMO.
ReplyDeletecasual-crew, thanks for the response! :)
ReplyDeletebut IMO
They could have lowered the prices online. There are shoes that are being sold for 19.99 at TJMaxx that are still online at J.Crew for 100.
If they want to get rid of excess inventory without devaluding the brand, they could have just done a bigger sale. Percent off sale, or lowered the individual price points.
Anonymous @ 3:15, do you know how the sizing on the eyelet mini is? It is really pretty! I have a 20% code from opening a J.crew credit card that expires today. I tried combining this code with free shipping but it doesn't work.

ReplyDeleteDoes anyone know if the stores have additional % off sale right now?
ReplyDeleteanon 3:30: Type 99 in the quantity box and the amount that shows up is the quanitity, usually this is the case, sometimes it can be wrong depending how often the inventory is updated with the call in orders.
ReplyDeleteanon 3:48: They could have lowered the price unless they had such huge inventories it might have been quicker to TJ to take it off their hands and their books.
Screw this codes minimum of 175$ We should figure out who lives nearby us and combine orders!!!! Even if we had to ship stuff ourselves it would be cheaper than j.crews costs. AND we could split the J.crew shipping cost and SAVE BIG.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE COOPERATION
Has anyone purchased the Scattered-boule necklace? Shown here http://jcrewaficionada.blogspot.com/2009/01/what-inspires-jcrew-every-day.html
ReplyDeleteAnybody want to try?? lol. I think its a neat idea
ReplyDeleteLove this. Thank you J.Crew.
ReplyDeleteI've been holding off in getting the Selima glasses. Now...
Can this go with the educator's discount? I never know...
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone know if the Crackle-metallic Mary Jane heels? I'm thinking of purchasing the metallic sherbert color using the 20% (it's the only color available in my size). Also, if you purchased these did you really like them?
ReplyDeleteOops I meant to ask if anyone knew if the Crackle-metallic Mary Jane heels run true to size?
ReplyDeleteOh JCrew how you tempt me!
ReplyDeleteI had every intention of being good & NOT buying too much stuff. Then they post a discount on sale items & have stunning photos of Michelle Obama in Vogue... I'm right back on the site.
In the end, I pushed my colour comfort zone with a tea rose sweater, skirt & tee. I intende to mix 'em up with some grey, brown or tan pieces. Even so, I'm not certain if I'll look as great as Michelle. On the plus side, the sale associate was kind enough to apply my educator discount. I guess it will make up for the shipping$$$
Hope all my fellow addicts errrr aficionada's find their perfect "can't resist" piece as well.
Happy shopping,
Heather:D
Does anyone know if I can get the student discount online somehow? Maybe if I call them? I live in Canada and HATE getting screwed on the student discount because I can't shop at the B&M stores.
ReplyDeleteGreat to see a code, but can't stack coupon codes for the FS :(
ReplyDeleteWish they would also update their site earlier or later like they used to. Miss the update when at work.
I think someone else mentioned previously- would be nice if they gave a discounted shipping for cardholders or free shipping period.
Can't do it. Have no money left... I wish that JCrew would come out with a chic 'hobo' barrel. That is my next look. Seriously though, how much longer will this bad economy last? It is getting to be a real drag. I am moving into my van. I may liquidate my JCrew wardrobe...
ReplyDeleteJenG.
The eyelit mini seems to fit TTS. Its a really nice piece. I loved it so much I was going to buy at full price but then thought about it. I have been stalking it ever since.
ReplyDeletemelissa,
ReplyDeleteI have heard stories on here of people calling and getting the discount applied over the phone, and in some cases email. I think if you explain your situation they will be happy to do it for you because it keeps you as a repeat customer. I could be wrong but I would call and try it. If you get a no, call again and try it with another J.Crew Associate. Its all about if you get the right person at the right time.
HTH!
melissa
ReplyDeleteAlso, you can't do it online. An associate has to key it in for you.
Just keep calling and hopefully you get the right person.
good luck
I was able to get 20% + Free shipping by calling into CS:) I ordered the Aubrey in Berry, the pearl cluster bracelet, victoria in Camel stripe and a few FS tees.
ReplyDeleteTwiga
I received this email but won't be using the code.
ReplyDeleteSadly, I placed an order for the $100 free shipping last night. :( Oh well. :)
ReplyDeleteMan, the sale section is down to the dregs, isn't it?
ReplyDeleteI just pulled the trigger and used the SHHH code to order the melody dress in sweet lavender, the cotton pelisse dress in dusty rose and the soft jersey sara dress in dark slate. I hope there's nothing wrong with the sara dress, they put it in final sale pretty quickly...
ReplyDeleteI happened to be in my B&M (to return the hexagon jacquard mini) when I received this email on my cell :) So I took advantage of the code and ordered a few items via the red phone. The personal shopper there was kind and enthusiastic to offer FS in addition to the 20% off so it was double great.
ReplyDeleteI also picked up the Palermo metallic jacquard sandals and a few crown bangles. These bangles are absolutely adorable and more vibrant in real life. The website pictures do not do them any justice at all.
Sorry for the OT:
ReplyDeleteAny idea on the differences between "slub cotton-silk" and "cotton slub silk"?
I finally made it to my local NYC TJ Maxx. No signs of JC anywhere though the associates said they definitely received JC shipments in the past.
I am so proud of myself. I have been on a shopping ban and sticking to it! Normally I would have been all over this code and bought something but it is still freezing here and I have plenty of JCrew to tide me over. I know others are on a shopping ban too so 20% which is not that great really is easy to pass up...
ReplyDeleteI am glad those of you that can use this do but for me this is a pass!
Great coupon! My fiance was planning on getting an Aldridge suit for our wedding and when this coupon showed up in the email, we jumped on it. And to our surprise the suit was being marked down $100 bucks anyway -- I saved more than $200 with this coupon!!
ReplyDeleteHi Just wanted to say I'm sooo glad we have this blog. I never get the emails for the coupon codes until around 3pm. Many thanks to all that share on this site.
ReplyDeletei've recently become a j crew fan and i'm looking to buy some items online. has anyone purchased the eyelet mini? does it run small? i'm usually a size 0 in banana republic and most other stores and wanted to get an idea as to what size to order? thanks!
ReplyDeleteAnon @ 11:55, the eyelet mini runs TTS. I am also a size 0 in skirt and dresses in BR. I took the 4 because the 2 was too short at the back for me. I am 5'7". The waist of the 4 is not terribly loose so it works out fine.
ReplyDeletetwiga: you will LOVE the pearl cluster bracelet! i cannot wait to wear mine :)
ReplyDeleteHave any of you ladies purchased the Jack Purcell sneakers? I wear an 8 in women sizes. What size should I purchase? Please advise...
ReplyDeleteI'm an 8 and wear 6.5 Jack Purcells.
ReplyDeleteHTH!
Thanks Lee... I just ordered mine in 6.5 on waitlist can't wait to get them :)
ReplyDeleteI too just ordered the jack purcells and had no idea the white was selling out. The CS rep in the phone told me SOLD OUT, not backordered or waitlisted. She did a find it for you search and found them in my size and they are on the way! I wouldn't wait...if you want them I would just call and have them do a search, it took the girl 10 minutes and she had the shoes. I also got the regular ones that GAP is selling. I want to pick between the 2 pairs because I am not sure how different the "distressing" is. Anyone with info on that? Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI originally ordered the white Jack Purcells in 6.5 & called back to change them to a 6 today (they were on waitlist for Monday shipping.)I usually wear a 7.5 or 8in shoes, but I went to TJ Maxx to see if they had any JC shoes (which they didn't) however they did have some Converse & I tried on the 6.5 & they were big & the 6 fit just perfect they had them in various colors light pink, navy, black but no white. HTH
