A big "thanks!" to many of you, including Julie, Bug_Pin, covert5, Shannon, Lesley, & Kim, as well as Georgia Girl, BirdE, & Heather:D (in this post), who let us know that J.Crew sent an email announcing their latest promotion.
J.Crew is now offering up to 30% off select women's sweaters both online (click here) and in stores. It is not clear how long this offer will last (but hopefully it will be around for awhile). :)
Are you planning to take advantage of this offer? If so, please share with us which sweater(s) you got! ;)
I can't believe that I'm going to go OT right off the bat, but I just received my first M+O order and had to share!
ReplyDeleteGot the snakeskin wood wedges (just go to martinandosa.com and type "snakeskin" in the search until I can hyperlink) and they are fabulous - everything that I wish my JC shoes were! Leather upper, liner, and sole, cushioned footbed, comfortable and TTS. Best of all, they were marked down from $150 to $44.95. I had a 30% coupon and ended up getting them for $31! Best of all, they're not final sale, and M+O has free returns even if they didn't fit. The color is a really light grey that I think will look great with spring pieces.
They only have sizes 9.5, 10 and 11 left, but if any JCA's want to give a new shoe a try, for the price, I'd HIGHLY recommend these!
We now return back to your regualar JCA-scheduled programming...
Huh?
ReplyDeleteWho is M+O ?
Oh, I'm sorry - Martin + Osa! I would never have heard of them if it hadn't been for Alexis. :)
ReplyDeleteIs M&O just an on-line shoe store or what is it?
ReplyDeleteYes - I plan to take advantage of the 30% off J.Crew sweaters - I'm thinking maybe some spring cashmere - the swing sweater and maybe another one- hopefully the quality will be good! I was hoping the shawl-collar library cardi would be included in the sale, too, but no such luck.
Silver_lining, congrats on the M+O order! Those shoes are fantastic. My feet are too wide (sigh) for most J. Crew shoes which seem to be narrower than other shoes. I'll have to try some M+O shoes. With the free returns, it can't hurt.
ReplyDeleteFor the sweater sale, I don't think I am going to buy any. I recently got the V-neck short sleeve cardigan (item 10510) in navy at my B+M on sale with extra 30% off. I think it is cuter than the short sleeve cotton cardigan and was a much better deal (but it was final sale).
If I were to buy something, I love the look of the silk-linen ruffle cardigan. There is also a silk-linen pintuck cardigan in final sale that is adorable. Has anyone purchased any J. Crew silk-linen? What is the fabric like and how does it wear?
This sale made me take a second look at the cashmere cabin popover-I love it!
ReplyDeleteThe summerweight cashmere cardigans look beautiful, but I am scared to buy--I got a summerweight cashmere sweater 2 yrs ago and it PILLED really really badly (I was tempted to throw it in the garbage) after 2 wearings--much worse than their regular cashmere. Has anyone tried any of their summerweight cashmere recently?
ReplyDelete30% off the sale price of spring sweaters already marked down?
ReplyDeleteJust a reminder - anybody who sees or has a ZOEY tank in Blue Jasmine 0 or 2 - please let me know!!!
ReplyDeleteAnon 4:45, I tried the summerweight cashmere last year and it wasn't much better - incredibly thin and see-through. It slipped off of the hanger in my closet, my cat took a nap on it and it was destroyed. In retrospect, I guess that's okay becauses it wasn't great to begin with (and purchased at a deep discount!).
ReplyDeleteIn general, I've slowly been falling out of love with JC sweaters because of the quality, but I tried on the library shawl cardigan in the B&M the other day and found it to be really nice. Definitely thicker than I expected for a cotton cashmere blend (compared to my luxe Jackie from a few springs ago) and a great neutral piece. The sizing was a tiny bit problematic, as the XS fit perfect in the body, but the arms (and I have thin arms) were super-tight! The S fit fine in the arms but the body was definitely roomy. Plus, the sleeves were really long - which, after 3 years of 3/4 sleeves on everything took me a little off-guard! I really wish this was in the sale, though - I'd be tempted!
Does anyone know if we'll be getting a percent off on final sale stuff soon? There is one more thing I want to get from the winter. Don't know if I should wait or just order now. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI love Martin and Osa and have posted a few things from their line at my blog over the last couple weeks. I like their Jeans and Sweaters and the promotions are really great. Congrats Silver Lining!
ReplyDeleteThe sweater promotion is tempting, but I really have my eye on the pants. Does anyone think there will be another Personal Shopper or cardmember sale on full priced items soon?
OT
ReplyDeleteI'm so excited about my TJ Maxx finds:
-Dauphine patent T-strap sandals $19.99 (& yet still Full price on website!)
-Silk Sophia dress $19.99 (j.crew tags still attached)
-Nubuck flip-flops $7.99 ($34.50 on website)
I have no idea how this happened, but I feel very, very lucky today:)
This site is awesome!
Here's what I got from T.J.Maxx this morning:
ReplyDeleteAll $19.99 each!
Lulu peeptoes sienna 7.5
Juliet heels, black 7
Flora flats, 7.5
WOW!!
I agree with anon@4:37 about the cabin pop-over. It looks super cozy / comfy, just what I think of when I imagine staying warm during a freezing forecast. :) I do kind of wish it had longer sleeves though.
ReplyDeleteHas anyone tried it on? What are your thoughts?
heyy LovingJCREW... which TJmaxx did you go to? I'm planning on visiting one today. Only thing is that I'm in the bay area and sounds like the good ol deals are mostly east coast. Oh well doesn't hurt to try.
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone own the merino crewneck sweater? Thinking about getting the dusty rose. Looks like it might be a longer style verses a Jackie.
ReplyDeleteNo JC shoes at TJMaxx but I got a golden roses skirt for $15.99.
ReplyDeleteI wish I had a TJMAXX here. Hubby and I are headed to the State Fair in Tampa tonight. Maybe I can sneak in a trip to TJMAXX! :O)
ReplyDeletemjMuffin: Downtown Chicago location.
ReplyDeleteAnon @ 4:45- you can fix pilling on sweaters.
ReplyDeleteI actually use a flea comb I bought from a pet store - obviously not one I have used on my dog! - and comb it carefully and the pilling will come right off the sweater. Other places actually make wool combs as well.
I can't believe I got this e-mail! I am finally back on their e-mail list, and I think it is from entering the $2,000 gift card promotion!
Elizabeth in MO - Martin + Osa is to American Eagle as Banana Republic is to Gap. They are the more adult upscale version with professional as well as casual clothing. They have been around for a few years and they are slowly expanding the concept.
ReplyDeletesilver_lining: congrats on the M+O wedges! I agree, they have great quality items and used to have a great free shipping policy w/no minimum, although they still have free returns. although i love jcrew, i have to say M+O quality tends to be more consistent, price points more affordable, and are more generous with the % off/codes!
ReplyDeleteand no, i will not be purchasing any jcrew sweaters. after my experience with their featherweight merino and tartine cardigans, i'm done with jcrew sweaters.
Melanie, I haven't tried it on, but it's not final sale. It's the heavier gauge cashmere, so it will be sturdier over time, which is nice. I'm guessing it's tts. **4:37
ReplyDeleteLooks like Martin & Osa is hopping on the zebra trend too; can't say I like this one any better though...
ReplyDeleteLadies (and any gentlemen): I went to the TJ Maxx in the Baileys Crossroads area here in Northern Virginia. Nada on the J. Crew. I overheard the manager say the next time he will re-stock will be on Monday. Sigh. I did find some nice things to buy (mainly staples like jeans)...
ReplyDeleteI don't think so, still not that cheap. But, the jackie looks like it went from 64 to 59??
ReplyDeletehere's a vote against those wedges . . . ew. . .
ReplyDeleteto be fair. . . I don't think J. Crew would offer them.
Noooooooooooooo! on the golden roses skirt. I had that in cart for so long and it sold out in my size before the price dropped. Now I'm a little angry.
ReplyDeleteOops. I don't mean to gloat on the golden roses skirt. There were one left - I think it's a 4 or 6.
ReplyDeleteJust visited FFM's blog and the cardi she featured is sold at T.J.Maxx. It's the chiffon pleated cardigan (now I know) - for $19.99. I guess I haven't been paying attention...
ReplyDeleteHello! The cardi is $69.99 on the JC website. TJmaxx has the navy and putty - maybe two or three each. Didn't look at the sizes. No honey.
ReplyDeleteI'd like the Jacinda jacket but it is not included in the promo.
ReplyDeleteAnon 6:26 -- Any chance you would be willing to pick up one of the chiffon pleated cardigans in putty if they have it in a M? I'd pay you cost + tax + $10 shipping + $10for your time! Email me at kristi_harshbarger@yahoo.com if you are willing :) Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI'm so mad! I went to Marshall's today (with a HUGE shoe department) and there was NO JCrew at all. I could have gone to TJ Maxx, but I only had time to go to one or the other, and I guess I picked the wrong one! That's an hour of my life wasted! If I can sneak out tomorrow, I'll try TJM.
ReplyDelete:(
Kristi - Sure, I'm going back tomorrow morning for a second look. There may be other JC "gems" I'm not aware of. I feel a little idiotic after visiting FFM's website and finding the exact cardi selling for $69.99 on the JC website.
ReplyDeleteIf I find the cardi, just pay me the sale price + tax + $10 shipping (I assume you live in the Continental USA :) I hope they have the cardi in my size too. Wish us luck!
Silver_Lining ... thanks for the turn-on to M&O. But, alas, nothing there for us TALLs. Cute stuff, though just not long enough. Really, I'm just 5'9" but must be all legs and arms. Can't buy anything OTR. I am so grateful to JC that they have nice, long inseams.
ReplyDeleteAnon 6:54: My fingers are crossed for us!! :) Thanks so much!!!
ReplyDeleteHi all,
ReplyDeleteI had thought to go to a B&M & try out the Pinwheel cardigan, #11445, but it rec'vd a less-than favourable review fro a fellow JCA. She said that it looked like it would fall apart rather easily & I'm inclined to agree given some of my exp w. other sweaters. I am a bit sad tho' because the merino''s are usually more durable than the cashmere. ***SIGH*** I sooo loved the retro charm of the design!
I also considered the merino crew cardigan, #12436, but I'm not into the length. I know that longer cardigans are in vogue this season. However, they are less than flattering on a petite frame.
For example, I really tried to love the Czech glass cardigan earlier but it looked like I borrowed it from my Mum's closet. I'm concerned that the "mid hip" lengths will have the same effect.
On the plus side, I found a couple of lovely cashmere sweaters over at Brooks Bros for 60% off earlier. Hmmm... maybe I'll take a peek at the sales rack on my way to JCrew this weekend. I know some of their things can look a bit dated, but sweaters & blouses seem pretty safe. It couldn't hurt -after all, Mickey gets some of his management ideas from BB.
Still, I'd like to see if I can get the 30% off & educator discount on some of the new colours. Oh & what do y'all think of the "Tea Rose" & "Celery" colours? Too bright, i.e. weekend/ Lilly Pulitzer or office worthy? Any help would be appreciated!
TIA,
Heather:D
Oh, my first mention on J.Crew Aficionada! I'm excited, tee hee.
ReplyDeletesuppose there will be a 20 or 30% off code anytime soon? I have 5 or 6 items in my cart and keep waiting...
ReplyDeleteHave you guys noticed price drops on other, non-sweater items? For example, I've had a slub cotton-silk Melody dress in my cart for a few days: yesterday it was $118, today it's $98!
ReplyDeleteWell, phoeey! Got my Phoebe jacket in the mail and it doesn't fit at all. It is fine in the body but I can barely move my arms :-(
ReplyDeleteGood thing I was wearing my cascadiong flowers astrid when I opened the package - my delight over this charming number offset the disappointment over the phoebe :-)
I saw that pinwheel cardigan at the store last week and already the "pinwheels" were massivley fraying on the edges. I don't know how it could hold up after one wear let alone a cleaning (even if dry cleaned). They're pretty but much too delicate. Me thinks the designers are more interested in a good model shot than actual functionality. Their best items can do both.
ReplyDelete@Silver_lining (and others)
ReplyDeleteHow do you find the fit/sizing at Martin + Osa? Similar to JCrew? Their sale looks really great, but I don't want to order a bunch of stuff that doesn't fit, even if it isn't final sale.
Anon 6:26 - If you go back to TJMAXX I'd love a Chiffon pleated cardi in Putty and Navy size small or medium. I'll pay whatever!!! Let me know!!
ReplyDeleteI'm interested in placing an order with M&O for the first time and am wondering about fit/sizing too.
ReplyDeleteThere's some great deals there and my order is only $70 and is coming up with free shipping through Canada Post.
Question for those who return online/catalog items. When you request a replacement item, different than the item you ordered, does it usually ship fairly quickly? Can you see the returns and new shipments as a new order on your J.Crew account online? (Not the credit card account, the website account.)
ReplyDeleteI also posted on the previous post topic but I find often people migrate to the newest topic so I'm posting again. Sorry if you've read it already.
TIA
I was too late to scoop up the high waisted denim skirt in size 8! Called CS and they had one left but when they went to process the order it was gone. I was so upset but very tempted to purchase a cascading flower jacket in Ivory that popped up in a 10. I had to remind myself that $230 was a lot to spend on one item..no matter how pretty! That is something I'll have to pick up used from another JCA in the future!
ReplyDeleteJ.Crew at Stoneridge Mall in Pleasanton, CA has new spring items on sale, but there is no additional discount unless you're an educator or student. Pretty good but limited selection of sweaters, skirts and etc.
ReplyDeleteKim
I guess I'll grab whatever size and colors of the chiffon pleated cardigan I can find at TJmaxx tomorrow, and see if there are any takers here.
ReplyDeleteelegant_mom - I bought the silk linen cardigan on sale on a whim and I was pleasantly surprised. the fabric is lightweight and the pintuck details are nicely finished. I found it to run a little big. I'm usually an S in J Crew sweaters unless it's a cardigan and I size up to an M to accomodate my chest - I'm not a fan of the "pulling buttons" look. But an M in this one was really roomy under the arms so an S would have been better. I like that you can wear it open or closed.
ReplyDeleteHTH!
anon at 10:56
ReplyDeleteI'd take any larges/x-larges
Yes, the returns would post on your account and also under the specific order number, with the note "returned". You won't know the exact amount refunded unless you call. Make sure they are not charging you the shipping for EACH item or EACH order returned. It should be a one-time charge, $5.95 for one item or $7.50 for two or more items, regardless of how many orders. This is not as rare as you think when you put several items from separate orders in one box. I've experienced it twice, and had to call and get refunded the returns shipping.
ReplyDeleteAlso, if they ship you four coats in 2 shipments cos their box doesn't fit, make sure the returns (4 coats in abox) are charged only one time return shipping, not TWICE. It's a lot of hassle to get them to do it right sometimes.
adorer: It's yours if I can find it!
ReplyDeleteTY anon at 11:02
ReplyDeleteI knew there was a reason I keep coming back to this blog- despite some harassing comments made by other anon posters
anonymous 9:53 ~ do yu know what spring items were on sale at Stoneridge?
ReplyDeleteAnon at 10:56~
ReplyDeleteI would take a size small if you found one and the price was right!
jassjane@hotmail.com
Thanks!!
Items I saw on promo in Walnut Creek:
ReplyDeletepencil skirts - $69.50
travel trench - $135
Nothing else jumped out at me. Stock is a little thin towards the back of the store. They had about 5of the pink rosette tees left.
gwen,
ReplyDeleteIf you want the C.F. Astrid I would scoop it up. I paid full price for mine and if I ever sell it used I would sell it for at least 1/2 of what I paid for it. So the $200 or so online is a great price. I take super care of my clothes and always ask 1/2 of what I paid. Doubt you will ever see this item offered for less...but you might get lucky...
Anon who got a golden roses skirt.. if you go back I'd love the 4 if they still have it! let me know! emilyeeg at gmail.com :)
ReplyDeleteAnon 6:22
ReplyDeleteI would also like to purchase a CHIFFON CARDI from you if you happen to find one during your TJMaxx trip.
Medium or Large, any color.
imaciolek at hotmail. com
TIA
No sweaters with this promotion for me.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to those who get the Chiffon Pleated Cardigan from TJ Maxx...it's really beautiful, and that price is fantastic! :)
Although I want more jackie cardis, I think I will wait until the price goes lower...
ReplyDeleteTotally OT - but I received a perfect fit tee today that is tiny! I usually wear an XS/0P but I ordered a S for a bigger fit. The shirt fits smaller than my XS's in my closet! So frustrating as I love the color and it was FS. Did anyone else have this problem? Do y'all think I can stretch it the same way as the ringspun trick?? Thanks!
~Michelle
No sweaters with this promo for me. The one sweater I want is not on promo.
ReplyDeleteI am also hoping that next week brings and extra % off final sale or a private sale.
I would love to see a TRUE offer for cardholders only. A code that anybody cannot use like the last one. I mean, it would be nice to get a TRUE benefit to using the card and a discount.
ReplyDeleteanon 6:58: Try washing it and not putting into the dryer, I find with the Perfect Fit Tees they need to go into the dryer to shrink back into their original shape.
ReplyDeleteI have stopped buying JC sweaters, I like the Jackie but I found very similar ones elsewhere for alot less money.
Anon 7:15 - isn't that what the rewards card is?
ReplyDeleteOT, but since several of you are talking about the Chiffon Pleated Cardigan, can someone advise if it runs small or TTS? I have been thinking about ordering one, but with their sizing being so indiscriminate, not sure. I am almost always a size 4, but lately at JC I take a 0 in the recent HUGE camis, a small in the merino turtleneck, but a medium in the Melanie cardi.
ReplyDeleteThoughts? Thanks. :)
Thanks casual-crew. I actually just got off the phone with an SA and they are sending me out another free of charge. She said sometimes the cuts are just off which causes it to be smaller/larger than normal.
ReplyDeleteI will try your hint if the next one arrives the same way!!
~Michelle
lady cake: I wear a 0/2 in J.Crew camis and tops, sometimes a 4 in jackets, and my Chiffon Cardigan is a Small.
ReplyDeleteBtw...I think I could wear an XS in the cardi, it would just be more fitted. I wear a Small in the Jackie Cardigans, and they are more fitted than my Chiffon Cardi in Small.
ReplyDeleteAnony@7:22
ReplyDeleteI have never spent enough to receive a rewards card. You have to spend $500 in a few months and I never do that...
Also, there was a promo that was supposed to be for card holders only to recieve a discount and anyone got to use it so there was no true benefit there.
No go away.
Arg!
ReplyDeleteWho got it?
I had the black rose tee in my cart, and was almost to press the purchase button when it was "sold out".
Oh well, I hope whoever got it enjoys it. How disappointing!
to anon with the possible chiffon cardis... i'm definitely interested in any size Mediums!
ReplyDeletestarla729 at yahoo dot com
Anon 8:21 - no need to be rude, it was a valid question. if you don't spend $500 over a few months then the promos wouldn't make that much of a difference on such small orders anyway.
ReplyDeleteLa Belle Helena,
ReplyDeleteCan I say for us all that we are so glad you got such a great item and love it and wear it all the time!
Ok?
Been praised enough and gotten everything out of your system? Seriously you make a comment EVERY DAY about the thing. It seems like you're fishing for compliments, so please let me compliment you HUGELY on it!
We're glad you bought it and have it and love it and wear it, now get over it.
sale section updated!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the tip starla729, lots of new sale stuff today. Well, maybe not new, but YKWIM
ReplyDeleteI see the CF Astrid is now $149.
ReplyDeleteGreat, the Duchamp Astor came back in my size and I was able to check out with that and a few other items. I really like the Duchamp print and thought I saw some of them in Jeff's photos of the sample sale so I was hoping some would come back online. It should be a nice spring jacket and the price was even further reduced. I hope it ships.
ReplyDeleteAre the Jcrew stores not having an extra % off of sale anymore?
ReplyDeleteAnon @ 8:32
ReplyDeleteA rose tee? Was black the only color available?
This comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteAnony@8:51
ReplyDeleteYes, they would b/c then I would actually use my card. I use another card b/c the perks are better and I buy over $1000 a month at JCrew but why use their card when perks are better on other major credit cards. Now go away. I wasn't talking to you intially anyway. Just hoping JCrew is reading.
My silk treasure tunic arrived yesterday and I'm so disappointed. The pattern on the placket and cuffs does not line up with the rest of the shirt. I would never have thought to check if it wasn't for dinagideon's post about the fresco cardigan. I just expect that patterns will line up with J.crew clothes as they always have for me in the past, although I don't buy a lot of their patterned tops.
ReplyDeleteI know that cuff fabric is often cut in a different direction than the rest of the shirt, but this pattern is the same both ways so shouldn't be a problem. At least the placket should line up, it is front and center. It's a cost-cutting move to use less fabric. :(
I'm sure I would have noticed once I wore it but thankfully I saw it now before I take off the tags because I have to send it back. Maybe I'll try one of the solid colors instead. Or the stripes. At least they appear to line up.
It seems that J.Crew has a secret stash of double-serge pencil skirts somewhere. They keep showing up in different sizes and colors, every few updates it seems. I have the ones I want, which admittedly took some stalking, but I still almost twitch when I see them in the sale.
ReplyDeleteI noticed that the J.Crew bags are lined this season. Personally, I don't mind the unlined pebbled-leather bags and I have five, but maybe they got some negative feedback.
ReplyDeleteHas anyone seen the Bella Satchel IRL? It looks pretty large but I'm really intrigued by the heather pink color. How do you make leather a heathered shade? I thought that was only possible with fabric by weaving in fibers of another color.
I like the look online but in the February catalog it looks kind of peachy (page 28). Perhaps the mauve sweater is causing that effect. I'd love to see it IRL or read a JCA review about it before ordering.
Anyone with any info?
TIA
Whoops. I only have 4 of the pebble-leather unlined bags. My Owen hobo is lined.
ReplyDeleteAnon @ 9:34
ReplyDeleteYep, a rose tee.
I would have had it if I would have typed in that item number before a few others. It was almost an afterthought like, oh well I'll try that too and my eyes popped open wide when the page loaded.
They only had 1. It was black and it was a Medium.
I think there is/are a person(s) just buying up all of the deeply discounted tees every morning. I'll type the item number in and there will be multiple sizes in multiple colors available and when I return a minute later, they will all be gone. This is before the overall update, when you can only find items by item number.
I bet that rose tee will turn up on ebay for $129. If I didn't want to spend $55 when it came out, why would I spend $129 now?
I do not think there is a single person buying up tees in all sizes. According to my experience yesterday and today, there were multiple people buying tees in different sizes at the same time. For example, today, all colors in medium gone first together, then a couple of minutes later the size small gone as well. I think more and more people have adapted to jcrew website.
ReplyDeleteMy observations are based on candy tees.
ReplyDeleteOT but can anyone comment on whether matchsticks shrink up after washing or not? I tried on a 26 and they were too small, so I ordered a 27 and they are too big in the thigh area! I am hoping you all will tell me they draw up!
ReplyDeleteLots of wonderful updates this morning. I picked up a few more things on sale: Melanie button cuff cardigan, cashmere gloves, a few favorite fit long sleeve v-necks, sparkle melange scarf (finally came down in price), cashmere argyle bow vest, and a chiffon flower bobby pin for my niece. Also picked up the Melody dress in light lavendar, and the butterfly bauble bracelet. I finally used my spring rewards card. :-) Happy Saturday, all!
ReplyDeleteJust to comfort those who missed the rose tee this morning. I did not see it, but I did buy one a couple of months earlier when it was just marked down to 19.99. The one I received was a return. I even suspected it was washed.
ReplyDeleteI would love a chiffon pleated cardi in M also if anyone finds one! Please let me know, I can pay through paypal or mail you the money! Thanks so much!
ReplyDeletesriomac@gmail.com
What gets me about the rose tee is that I don't even think it's "me". I think it would be too "pretty" for my personal style. But it's an obsession with me now because I can't have it. It's that a strange thing about human behavior? I'll be happy when it's no longer on the website so I can just get over it.
ReplyDeleteGood morning ladies!
ReplyDeleteI know I should wait for online exchange, but just thought I'd through it out...
Does anyone have a Harlow blouse, guava, sz. 0 that they would be willing to part with? I just can't bring myself to pay an extra $8.50 to have that lonely little shirt shipped (which of course means it would get another $120 of stuff to keep it company in the box and get free shipping)!
Thanks!

ReplyDeletewow, oopsies!
OT - but can someone tell me how the silk dupioni skirt runs?
ReplyDeleteHello everyone. I have 5 new reviews on my blog. Four of them are for skirts and one is for a cardigan that seems to be "hidden" on the website. I am a complete beginner at HTML. No link for you. You can get to my blog through my profile or on the home page of this blog. It's GigisGoneShopping.
ReplyDeleteTOT - does anyone have the flatiron tote or small shoulder bag from BR? These look great online, I'd love to know how they are IRL
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone have the Tissue Tee with Handcut flowers #12670. I bought two but am afraid to wash them as I am worried the flowers (lasercut and seemingly on a heavier fabric but not sewn around the edges) will fray or buckle (they seem to be on interfacing or something.) Anyone have experience? SA said I could return it if it had quality problems.....
ReplyDeletezoom item 99177, you will see a stain :((((((((
ReplyDeleteI just made a post in the 'seek and find' about some items on hold at a Jcrew store if anyone is interested....
ReplyDeleteA bit OT:
ReplyDeleteI want the:
Polka-dot airy knotted blouse 96100
I am not sure how these were sized, but I would need your larger sizes to accommodate my chest
FFM, thanks for the help on the pleated cardi! Much appreciated.
ReplyDeleteGood morning/afternoon! I check for the rose tee every morning pretty much, typically pretty early, and I've only ever come across the sea salt "seize the day" tees. I did manage to score some Trixie heels in my size as the price finally went down to $90. I called CS too and they gave me free shipping for the heels since it's the third day in a row I've place an order (been stalking the Lulus but they never showed up in my size). Crossing my fingers the Trixies aren't canceled! :)
ReplyDeleteSteph- Are you looking for the chiffon cardi in a specific color? Because there are some online on the website now in navy, putty, and the yellow/gold for $69.99.
ReplyDeleteAnon looking for Chiffon Cardis at TJMAXX -- please review the postings and offer them to the "older" posters - like me who asked yesterday for s/m in putty or navy.
ReplyDeletechadwick_kelly@yahoo.com aka anon 8:47pm yesterday. and 4:56 before that looking for the Zoey!
Hope you find them!!! ;)
hey! I posted this in the TJ Maxx thread, but wanted to post here just in case!
ReplyDeletereport from philly, pa:
store on city ave (near st. joe's) has nothing. :(
so, we decided to go to the King of Prussia store... there was a rack and table of shoes near the front. Not much, I was a bit dismayed at first, BUT there are jcrew items all over the store! You just have to look. Here's what I saw:
juliet pumps 6 1/2, iridescent champagne color
-juliet pupmps, 11, blanched almond
-patent city flats (?), 11 or 10, yellow + black
-patent driving mocs, bronze-brown that looked like poo (sorry!), sz8
-gwendolyn t-strap in ivory
-lots of sandals
-fleur suede peeptoe pump, sz 9, bright blue
-navy chinos (3 or 5', not sure), sz8
-jackie cardigan, M, citron
-embossed cotton strapless beach dress, white, sz8
-embossed cotton strapless beach dress, fresh clover sz2 (I almost got this but it was too big! If they had a 0 or p2 it would have been all mine. I know, don't cry for me that I had to leave it... better for another lucky lady to snatch up!).
-bathing suits, various
-ROSE TEE in champagne (ivory?) XS, $9.99, but before you get excited-- it had makeup smears all over it!! probably from someone trying it on. :(
-2 joelle cami's - papaya, brilliant blue (violet?)
-silk taffeta pop on mini, sz6, papaya
-french slub terry zip hoodie, citron, sz s (almost bought this too, but left it behind)
-black sandals w/ black crystal + yellow baubles (cristobel sandals??), sz 8
-white beach cotton or linen pop over tunic, xs. it had a collar and buttoned halfway... think it's a beach shirt?
-snakeskin tivoli flats, champagne/ivory (has the chain-link across front), 6 or 7. I was very surprised to see these b/c the snakeskin shoes are very expensive.
MEN:
several pairs of chinos
3-5 pairs of loafers
several jack purcell sneakers and slip ons, in white, madras, and grey.
-there were a pair of grey JP's in 5 1/2, so they would fit a woman who wears 7-8, I think.
What I bought (for me, not for sale!):
-yoga line zip-up, 3/4 sleeves, standing collar, citron, sz s
-lucie d'orsay heels, 7 1/2, platinum gold
-espadrille slingback wedge, metallic gold cotton/linen, sz 8
Ohhh heather thanks! I'll have to head over there tomorrow! KOP isnt far from me! Is there anything you are looking for in sizes? I am contemplating going to the TJMaxx near me in Pottstown tonight...let me know...
ReplyDeleteIf Gwen or Heather pick me up those size 8 black sandals with the yellow baubles, I'll totally pay you and compensate you for your time! I've been wanting those forever!!
ReplyDeleteemail: paintpuppie@aol.com
I'm so envious of you ladies who have JC at TJMaxx! I live in the same town as Natedec, who probably scooped up all the deals for huge ebay markups already....
I tried on the merino striped cardigan today and really liked it. However, I will wait for another markdown (and possible extra % off).
ReplyDeleteI also saw the cluster ring and tried it on. I really like this ring, but again I'll wait for a markdown. They also had a necklace that I loved, with a flower pendant (and matching earrings). I will be keeping my eye on this on, especially since it's not online.
Heather or Gwen,
ReplyDeleteI would love the Juliet pumps in almond size 11. If you get them, I can pay you for them + your trouble!!!
email me at jcrew123@hotmail.com
Math Teacher,
ReplyDeleteI have the Merino Striped cardigan and LOOVE it too! It's very flattering and simple. I got mine during the 30% off so hopefully another sale will come by soon for you! :)
any thoughts on the super 120s dress that is on sale for $129.99? Any fit advice would be much appreciated. thanks!
ReplyDeleteHeather or Gwen,
ReplyDeleteI too would love to join in...I don't know if you offered but I'd totally pay for the 6 1/2 Juliet heels in iriedecent. I've been searching high and low for those in my size :( Okay, enough pathetic begging. If you by chance happen to see them that would be awesome if you thought of me :D
erine14 at clearwire.net
no prob. im going to my local one tonight. if i see any 11 or 6 1/2 they are yours...
ReplyDeleteI had no luck at my local TJMaxx, but wanted to give you all the heads up that you might be able to find Spanx items (body shapers & tights). There were a whole bunch at my store, but alas, none in my size. They were outstanding prices though...$14.99 and under, which is a steal for that brand!
ReplyDeleteGwen - you are a rockstar! Thank you so much :o)
ReplyDeletea little OT - but I was at Old Navy today and picked up a pair of sandals/flip flops that remind me of the capri sandals. had a bunch of colors, only $12.50. i snagged a pair. look at item #637762 on the Old Navy site to check em out.
ReplyDeleteGood luck, Gwen! I hope you get some goodies. :)
ReplyDeleteI won't be going back to KOP at least until next weekend b/c my car has been at the mechanic since thursday, and I don't think my bf wants to drive out to KOP twice this weekend! :P But I am on a tight budget and am satisfied with my few purchases this weekend... for now. :)
Oh, I forgot, there was also a white jackie shell in xs (another item I *almost* bought but decided to limit myself) and a cashmere shell in light citron, szM. I think it was summerweight cashmere b/c it was kind of see-through.
Also, fyi, at KOP they have been putting black marker through wherever it says jcrew on the inside of the shoe or size tag.
Hey all! Checked out Ross and Marshall's today in hopes of finding JCrew. No luck :(
ReplyDeleteI went to my local Marshalls and my local TJ Maxx (Pottstown)
ReplyDeleteNO JCREW...bummed :(
I am going to try the TJMaxx in Norristown tomorrow and try for King of Prussia later this week. Just don't have the time w/ work ect.
Sorry gals!
I mention the black marks b/c maybe it will deter ebay vultures from trying to mark up + pass off the items they snatch up as brand new/full price when they are actually from a discount store middleman. Or not, I'm sure some will try regardless! :P
ReplyDeleteoh no gwen, that sucks! I hear you with work, I work full time and cannot get out to tjmaxx during the week... :/
ReplyDeletehope you get out to KOP + Norristown next week (maybe I'll be there, too!). I did not go to Norristown today... but it's right next to KOP so maybe they'll have jcrew as well.
Heather-
ReplyDeleteYes I am hoping that they got the shipment as well....
I'm about a 35 min drive from Norristown but I'll be in the area tomorrow so I will have to stop and see...That store tends to carry junky stuff. Oh well...I can dream!
Thanks for checking Gwen! If you do happen to see those shoes at KOP great if not, that's okay too :)
ReplyDeleteI doubt if I'll take advantage of anymore sweaters sales. I did order those wedges from M/O. I hope they turn out ok since I love wedges and round toes. I'm in Southern California so I'm not going to run out to TJ for a JCrew search I'm afraid I'll be disappointed.
ReplyDeleteI got the Nicky in Spring Dots and the Giraffe shorts yesterday on sale and I love both of them. The skirt is super cute on and very spring like (along with the weather here in Texas). It isn't as poufy as my Dupioni (which I love anyway). It is a little sheer, but only in direct sunlight coming through. The Austin Barton Creek store had many sizes left for 49.99 for that color. I bought my regular size, but could have also sized down without a problem. The shorts aren't overly practical, but they are really fun. They are made out of a pretty stiff canvas like fabric and run TTS but on the smaller size for the way most things fit. They are rather short, so take that into consideration as well. Anyway, hope that helps someone!
ReplyDeleteMaggie May-
ReplyDeleteI bought the tissue tee w/ the hand cut flowers today. It's quite pretty! Of course, I haven't worn it, but it looks like it will hold up well.
Math Teacher-
I wouldn't wait too long on the ring. I got mine today, after some debate. My local store said they were selling lots of them- it made sense, since only smalls were left.
HTH
jbird, thanks. I have to at least wait until I get paid again. :) There are still plenty online as of right now. The sa that helped me hadn't even seen it, so I might have made a sale for JC! :D
ReplyDeleteCan't remember which post it was, but here's my haul from TJmaxx foray.
ReplyDeleteHi, here's what I got from TJmaxx yesterday. Some of you have expressed interest in these items, so please let me know which item you want and your email address. Sorry I couldn't report back earlier. My baby's sick.
Each item is $19.99. Plus tax is $21.58. Some of you offered $10 shipping. That makes $31.58 a piece.
- Chiffon pleated cardi
M and XL in putty, S and L (2) in navy.
Golden roses skirt size 6 & 10
- Lulu leather flats, 9, yellow
I checked before purchasing and these items seem perfect without any flaws. Was worried that with such cheap prices, there's something wrong with them. I still don't understand how they ended up at TJmaxx.
Ok, let me know!

ReplyDeleteanon - i think the putty may be spoken for through other posts... i'd be interested in the navy L then.
ReplyDeleteI would LOVE the small chiffon cardi if it hasn't already been taken.
ReplyDeletejassjane@hotmail.com
JaneEsq: I know you mentioned wanting a small Chiffon Cardi the other day, so if Anon@11:33 only has one then you should definitely get it...I'd still like one in Navy size Small if there are 2 available, or if someone else finds one, though. :)
ReplyDeleteFFM, you are too sweet! Thank you for being so generous. I called my local TJ Maxx and they said that I should call back on Friday to see if they had gotten any of the clothes in their inventory. If there's anything available I will certainly let you and the rest of the JCAs know!!
ReplyDeleteActually, after rereading all the posts it appears as if there was actually an Anonymous poster who was first in line for the Small Chiffon Cardigan in any color.
ReplyDeleteI would still love to have a Small in the Navy if one becomes available. :)
Whoever called it first should get it. If there's one available just let me know. TIA!
ReplyDeletejassjane@hotmail.com
JaneEsq: I completely agree! :)
ReplyDeleteHi Anon! I think I was the first one to ask for the M Chiffon Pleated Cardigan in Putty and if it's still available I would LOVE it! My email is kristi_harshbarger@yahoo.com. Thanks so much!
ReplyDeleteSherbie, thank you so much for the info on the silk-linen!!! I like that it is lightweight and the pintuck details are nice. Will have to spring for it. :) Thank you!!!
ReplyDeleteanon - let me know if you have any chiffon cardi's left. small or medium are fine. chadwick_kelly@yahoo.com
ReplyDeleteladies,
ReplyDeletehas anyone heard from Anon 11:33??
I gave out my email addy but haven't received a response. I know she's probably busy - just curious if perhaps someone had heard from her?
I haven't heard from her either, hopefully she's just busy and her baby is feeling better!
ReplyDeletemarietta-
ReplyDeletehow do you like the cotton-silk melody dress?
