ReplyDeleteI wanted to enter a J.Crew contest last year but I wasn't prepared to give them all the detailed personal information that was requierd. I recall they asked for your birthdate even. A bit much.

If you order through JCrew w/a credit card they have most of this information anyway. Wow, I would love to win this through JCrew. I hope an extra % is coming this w/end, bec. these sale prices are not that great. Wonder how long it will take them to mark down the current stuff, they seemed to mark down the kya cami, etc. pretty quickly. ANy guesses?

ReplyDeleteI think the Kya cami's had a slight defect with the hold being too low. That is why they got marked down so fast. There is always a reason...cashmere must be selling...so why mark it down???

ReplyDeleteI'm not a bridesmaid but I couldnt resist the Penelope short dress in slate! Full price but never mind. If it looks good on me, I'll keep it. Will do a review once I get it. The inventory is now less than 10 in the 0 and teens for the 2. Not sure if they'll bring in a new shipment.
ReplyDeleteI bought the passport cover a lil while ago in teal. I went crazy buying their teal datebook and mini notebook and then the pass cover when it went on sale. I think it's sooo cute. I'm all about traveling in style. :)
ReplyDeleteThis is off-topic, but I got a call from J.Crew this afternoon. It was a man saying something about them looking for a tee shirt for me (I had ordered one of the perfect fit tees in citron but got an email that it was unavailable). I said I didn't ask them to look for it. He said something about them calling people who had had items canceled. I didn't talk to him for very long because my husband was there and I didn't want to call too much attention to my recent spending (although it has been very minimal). I wasn't that upset about the tee-shirt. I just added it to one of my orders because with the 30% off it was less than $5.00.

ReplyDeletei've gotten a call like this before. they said they canceled a shirt I ordered because it was out of stock. (which was weird because i had already received the email.) they told me they would refund the shipping charged on my whole order for the inconvenience.
pretty out of the ordinary.. they haven't done that since for my other canceled items. im still not sure why they did it that one time.

I got the metallic pink passport cover & little booklet in the store for something like $5. Bought a luggage tag in the pink for $3. Then things got marked down even further, and I bought some notebooks in the teal and in gold and in silver, just to have as gifts. Wouldn't have paid full price for any of the stuff, but loved it way marked down.

ReplyDeleteLa Belle Helene, I just got my Phoebe and am itching to wear it. I'm currently planning on wearing it with a longer black turtleneck, trouser jeans and either black ballet flats or high heeled, patent Mary-Janes. I also think it looks terrific in the online photo with a grey t-shirt and lots of pearls. Unfortunately I think this is one piece that I'm going to have to try on with a bunch of different things because it needs to be styled not to look frumpy, it's not one of those pieces you can throw on over anything. When I first received it I tried it on with a grey cashmere t-neck (and the yoga pants I was already wearing), granted I had no make-up on and my hair was a frizzy mess but it looked pretty frumpy. However once I was showered, etc and tried it on with the outfit above I thought it was really chic. I'm also trying to think of other colors to wear it with, maybe a pale, icy blue? Anyone else??

Around the time of the January catalog (the mansion / astor court location), I recall seeing a fairly large clustered pearl necklace on a "bride" online -- the shot was basically just a headshot ending at the bust. There were a lot of pearls -- like the cluster but NO chain and more like a twisted bubble/sunray necklace ...
and now it's disappeared!!
Does anyone remember this? The necklace was gorgeous and I want to design one similar but have NO PICTURES!
