  1. I've realized I don't have any long-sleeve tees for fall... does anyone have reviews (especially fit) for:

    -Boater tee (51424)
    -Painter henley (48765)
    -Maritime blazer (37223)
    -Long stripe boater tee (52233)
    -Finespun blouse tee (49760)
    -Button-shoulder sweatshirt tee (48427)

    TIA!

  2. Doesn't make sense for them to be doing a tee promotion when the weather is getting colder.

  3. I love the boater tee and I have a striped gray and navy. The fit is smaller than other tees for example, I usually take an x-small but w/this t-shirt watch out it's tight around the arms (and I am not muscular & my arms are not big) but I took a small otherwise it'd be uncomfortable while moving my arms.

  4. I wonder if "free shipping" will now be a promo in and of itself, instead of the 20% off + FS.

Personally, I've found some decent long-sleeved tees at Gap and Old Navy for less than half of JC's tee prices. ON's "perfect crew-neck tees" are a little more boatneck (which I like), they're soft, long and come in a ton of colors. Gap's "favorite" tees are quite thick and come in all the neutrals. If I have to throw them away at the end of the season, at least they weren't $40 and up apiece!

Hmmmm, maybe this belongs in the other retailers post - my bad! :)

  5. I have to say that this season's factory version of the perfect fit long sleeved tees, both v neck and crew neck, are just as nice as retail and far cheaper. They are always on sale for $10 or $12, and they have tons of colors. I am not a big factory buyer but I do have one in cerise and love it!

  6. I took advantage of this only because I've been eyeing the Daylong tee for awhile (I really like the cut of it) and they moved it to the sale section. So I was able to get free shipping with 30% off.

  9. I came upon this little article from Page Six Magazine about what people wear to work at J.crew offices, Tommy Hilfiger, etc. (photos at the bottom of the article)

I love what Marissa Webb is wearing! I saw that striped silk button down at my B&M and I couldn't stop thinking about it. Now I want it even more!

  10. Thanks Miss Penny Z. Marissa always looks incredible!

  11. I bought only because the perfect-fit zip boatneck was on promo so I could get the 30% off and free shipping. Love the dark grape color but couldn't afford the Tippi, so this is my consolation prize!

  12. Oh no I don't like Marissa's look at all there, she's raided Bertie Bassett's wardrobe!

  13. JCrewJD I agree totally about the Factory Perfect Fit Tees ... the quality is as good as retail and it is pretty much the only thing I will buy there.

The colors this fall are really nice too ... I have the LS one in the grape color, mustard, and cerise, which is about one shade off vibrant flame and very wearable. I think I got them for $10 each.

  16. OT, but Cavalry skirt went down in price to 89.99, final sale unfortunately. I love this skirt, it is well made and good quality.
I could not stomach $125 but now I rebought it since it also popped back in my size. 0, 4 & 8 are still left in small quantities. Would prefer it with additional 30% off, but oh well. Ebates 8% helps.

  17. i am wondering, what happens if you order items other than tees? do you still get free shipping?

  18. I was excited to have them find my latest 'must have', the Poppy King lipstick, from the "We'll find it for you" service. And, while I was on the phone and surfing the website, I found the "
"Featherknit stripe boatneck tee"(item 44909) for $24.99, and extra 30% off and FS. Can't have enough striped tees!

  19. mamavalveeta03, the Poppy King lipstick has become my favorite! I wear it so much and the color is just perfect. If you have not tried it before I don't think you will be disappointed. Glad they found it for you!

  20. Meg - If you order anything besides tees you will be charged the $8.95 shipping fee. Unless, of course, your order is $175+.

  21. OT, just a note, I noticed they seem to have restocked the new cafe capri in wool in all colors and sizes. Bright dahlia is back! (It has been extremely hard to find, and 100% sold out online for a month or more.) Just wanted to alert anyone who had been waiting for those like I have. :)

  22. Re: the poppy king lipstick - I was so happy to find it in store since I had been waitlisted until Oct. however, it is much more red on me than I thought it would be. I don't see any coral/orange tone when I wear it. I guess it depends on your skin tone. I'm quite fair and was hoping for a more coral color.

The Burlington, Vermont location still had some in store when I was down there shopping in store last week.

  24. I was really happy with the JCrew summer tees I purchased but when it comes to long sleeve staple
v-neck and crew tees I have to say for the price point the GAP has an awesome product. The cotton holds up in the wash and is oh so soft!
    For style... J Crew.
For a sturdy layer Tee... maybe the GAP!
