Tote Madewell's Transport Tote (or any bag you love) and Win!

"Thanks!" to GigisGoneShopping (in this post), who let us know thatMadewell is running a new sweepstakes to win a $1,000 Madewell shopping spree. What do you have to do? Pretty simple:
Starting today, upload an image on Instagram of what’s in your bag or where you’re carrying it (you can show a Madewell tote or whatever you carry and love) with hashtag #totewell. The photogs behind our three favorite snaps will each receive a $1,000 gift card.* You have until May 19th, so start snapping.

Once you’ve entered, be sure to follow us on Instagram to keep up with the #totewell action.
To learn more, click here. I like that you can showcase any bag. Although, it kind of feels like they are pushing the Transport Tote from Madewell.

(I actually think Madewell's Transport Tote is pretty awesome. Extremely roomy to carry almost anything and the kitchen sink. So I heard a random tidbit worth sharing... I was at one of my local Madewell's and asked how well the Transport Tote was selling. Turns out they are not selling as well as Madewell would like them too.)

Good luck to all the Madewell Aficionadas! :)

SIDE NOTE: "Thanks!" to many of you, including Cate (in this post), who let us know that Madewell is offering free shipping on all orders. According to their webpage:
We offer free economy shipping everyday, no minimum purchase required. For a limited time, please enjoy free expedited shipping on qualifying orders of $250 and up.
Not sure how long this offer will run for, but YEY! :)

  1. Thanks for the mention :) I prefer more structure than the transport seems to offer, so I haven't purchased one. I tend to load my bags up like carry-on luggage. (sorry chiro!)

If I purchased one, I'd get it monogrammed. I hope I remember to instagram and get a chance to win.

  2. I love my Transport Tote... I thought it was funny that JC offered their own version with the Downing (IMO, the TT is definitely better... if only they'd produce a grey version!).

Interesting about them not selling as well as MW would like. I wonder if it has something to do with them always being an exclusion from promotions...I think the perception of a "good deal" is a major factor in purchasing these days and that might be a deterrent.

  3. I have the Transport Tote in the English Saddle color and love it. It's the perfect size for work, travel, or if you like to schlep a lot of stuff around with you in your purse (I am guilty of that, I am afraid). I do like big purses and totes, though. The handles are a perfect length to fit comfortably over my shoulder without slipping off, it's lightweight yet has a bit more structure to it than similar style totes I've seen out there, and also love that it has a side pocket for easy access to phone, keys, etc. I would highly recommend it. I will say that the leather color and texture can vary between totes (some have more of a pebbled texture while others are smoother) so I would suggest buying it in person if you live near a Madewell store. Also ask the SAs to bring out some from the back if you want one that hasn't been pawed by customers. I do agree with Sliver Lining that I much prefer the Transport to J. Crew's Downing version. They also just came out with the Transport in navy which I may consider at some point in the future. (A gray version would be nice, SL).

  4. I have the one in Indigo Dot but I like the looks of the Surf Stripe too. It's a nice sized bag.
