J.Crew Factory Exclusive Early Access: Shop new arrivals before everyone else

"Thanks!" to many of you, including A (in this post), who shared the following news/email from J.Crew Factory with us.

J.Crew Factory is offering a sneak peek at the latest arrivals with prices up to 30% off! They are also throwing in free shipping (no min!). Both these offers are just for today! So check your email to see if you got the invite and code.

I am actually liking many of the items in the new arrivals collection. The Factory Isabelle Printed Bow Pumps look amazing and the $89.50 sale price looks pretty good too. I do not wear heels (never mastered walking in them), but if I did, these pretties would already be mine! ;)

If only the Gilt coupon would work for today! ;)

I never really cared too much for Factory over that past few years. However, I now look forward to the new roll outs (at Factory) as much as I do regular J.Crew.

Have you received this email? Will you be taking advantage of this promotion? Any items you are interested in? If so, please share!

  1. Are there any promos going on at Factory now? I haven't been keeping up but there are a couple of pieces from this new rollout that I'd like to try. It seems weird to order without a code, though.

    1. Most of the prices were similar in the store yesterday as what's online.

    2. I just went and the whole store was 50% off.
Did lots of try ons and will post a review of all the punk floral stuff on my blog later.

  3. Several of the new arrivals come in petite sized. Hooray!

  4. Hurra that Factory has petite sizes. However, I cannot get the page to work With me when I try to select "petite" on items. The page just refreshes and "regular" is still chosen.

I really like the printed maxidress in dark cove, but I will definitely need a petite to not Waste inches of fabric. :)

    1. I am able to choose petite when I use Quick Shop. :)

    2. I can only locate three petite dresses by using search. Are there more items? Also, several "new arrival" tops are saying "final sale"!!!

    3. I found some dresses and pants with petite sizes. I found them randomly and didn't use search. For example: Winnie pants and their new chinos.

    1. I purchased a bikini (the anchor print set). I originally bought my regular size in both (XS), but I had to return the top for a small! I wasn't expecting that at all. Going off the size chart, I'm between an XS and S in the bust. I would not have felt comfortable in public wearing the XS. HTH!

    2. I found the same thing - I'm a 32B and I needed a S in the factory swim top (normally I take an XS in sweaters, tees, etc). I also got the S bottom, which worked well and I'm a 4 in J. Crew bottoms but most often a 6 in the factory bottoms. HTH!

  6. I like this rollout much better than last month's. I won't purchase now, but if there is still stock available when I do I'll probably try a few things.

  8. I love the bow pumps! Those will be mine. So far, everything I've added to my cart is backordered until May. I already have the punk floral top from retail last year so I'll probably sit that out but I like the cotton pjs and a few of the polka dot pullovers but will probably wait for a better promotion on those.

It's also interesting to me how factory is recycling retail items in the same season...like the orchid plaid shirt is redone (kiss tee, etc.)

  10. Hmmm. Looks like some of the new items (sun shift and stripe mini skirt) are marked as final sale !?! odd. Overall, I do like this new rollout.

  11. The entire store is 50% off, starting today. There are a few exceptions like the Rainbow flip flops and men's shoes. So, you can probably get a better deal in store.

    1. I also think the punk floral pencil skirt looks darker in person than it does online, and is darker than the other punk floral items.

  13. Does anyone know how the factory swing tunic fits? I find the swing sweaters run very large in the regular store and I usually can buy a medium when I wear a large, but lately, factory clothing has been all over the place for me: some run bigger than normal some run smaller.

    -Punk floral top,shorts and scarf
    -draped pocket tank
    -punk floral sweater

    -striped skirt

    2. hi Ina, thanks for the reviews (as always)! Are the punk floral shorts lined? Did they feel thin? Usually I shy away from factory 100% cotton shorts or skirts because they are unlined and usually seem kinda low quality to me.... also are they TTS in terms of my usual retail jcrew size? thanks for your opinion :)

      Delete
    3. Hi snowbrdgrl, the shorts are unlined.
They are not thin at all. Sizewise,i usually sized up to a 2 in retail, but the 0 was fine on me.

    4. Hi Ina, did you see the punk floral scarf in factory store? What kind of material is it? Cotton?Poly?Linen? I couldn't find it online ... wonder whether only store carry the scarf? I remember the J.Crew retail store carry this scarf last year. Could you comment on the quality of the factory version compared to last year's retail version?

    5. Hi Elaine, i did see the scarf and it is very thin .It felt like cotton, but i didnt check.
You can see a pic of it on my blog, just click the link above.
I never saw the original version of the scarf from last year.

  16. Thanks to J.CrewJD for the heads up about 50% off storewide - may have to pop in and check it out :)

I'm hoping my store has the elastic waist shorts in the solids and punk floral print, and the petite printed maxi dress.

All I bought today with my free shipping code was the hummingbird minaudiere, which I've been stalking since it was released lol. It's made its way to clearance (50% off, final sale), and only a few were left in stock when I bought it an hour ago.

    1. The solid elastic waist shorts remind me of the super cheap, thick polyester our basketball uniforms were made of in middle school. They are HIDEOUS. Especially in white. The punk floral aren't as bad as the solids.

  19. AudreyS, can you believe how fast the markdowns happen? I bought the eyelet seersucker top @ $69.99 less 40%. The sweater was on sale, too ($79.99), but I definitely don't need another merino sweater.

  22. I really like this rollout. I wasn't a fan of punk floral originally but I like what they did with it. I'm going to try the pull on shorts which I love...but I think they will look tragic. I also like the Baja tops and love the flower pjs which I ordered but arent available until May 6. I love the bow heels like others have mentioned but I wouldn't ear them...can't wait to see them on others though. As others have mentioned...designs are making it to factory quickly. I'm not sure they can still say collection is rare and entirely worth it..when it will be available in a few months at factory (in a different fabric..granted). I am pretty sure the prices will drop tomorrow (they usually seem to) but I will probably return most of what I ordered anyways. Just because I like what I ordered...doesn't mean it will look good.

  25. OT, ladies, I just got the retail metallic canvas baseball cap and I love, love, LOVE it!!! I totally understand that a metallic baseball cap may not be for everyone, but it's for me, and if you're thinking about it, I would grab it! Very Jenny from the Block (I love JLo). I'm definitely going to rock this on the weekends.

  26. Someone keeps tapping on my face as I'm scanning this thread, so I can't see who asked. But, I tried on the punk floral shorts and bought them. Instapic here. They're thicker cotton like the pull-on faille shorts from last year.

  27. Can anyone comment on the Factory Isabelle pumps? i'm eyeing them in bronzed clay patent and in the new stripe. I definitely want the stripe pair as i LOVE unique printed shoes like that and i wasn't willing to pay full retail price for them. And as for the bronzed clay - i love that color. I have a pair of Viv flats in them and the color complements my skin so perfectly. I haven't seen the bronzed clay on the retail site recently... My only issue is these are cheap retail knockoffs made of fake leather. Has anyone bought them? Will I hate myself for spending $80 on fake leather shoes? I can't tell how the quality will be because ive never bought factory shoes. if they are still good quality i could get over the fact that they are fake leather.

    1. drg - Review of the botanical printed Isabelles. I found them to be ridiculously comfortable. I am against faux leather uppers because I don't want to have foot problems later. These are an exception for me because they're so comfortable. I will get the striped bow ones. I probably wouldn't get any of the solid colors simply because if I'm patient, I can find various nudes, blacks, other staples in real leather. Some with leather soles as well. HTH

    1. @chercherry I emailed and requested a price adjustment this morning - I should have known better, the prices are always better the second day of the rollout (after the preview...not sure how that makes sense...but). If they give me a problem, I'll just cancel the backorder and reorder. A hassle either way.

      Delete
    2. I'm kicking myself too. Why are the prices always so much better the day after the preview! This time I've learned my lesson.

      Delete
    3. @shopmurphy I asked them to cancel my orden and they did. I ordered the bow pumps and some tops I wanted and got the free shipping because it was +$150 :)
It was a hassle but I won't complain because we hardly get 50%off everything online like in the stores.

      Delete
  30. The 50% off everything is now good online.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Hmm plenty of the new arrivals are not reflecting the 50% off. I wonder if this is an error. Also clearance appears to be priced as marked without an additional 50% off like in stores. I think I will try to hold out and go to my store tomorrow and then order on line if there are things that I could not find.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I noticed that, too, JessF. Wondering if it was supposed to read "up to 50% off." I didn't see any of the particular items I was interested in listed as exclusions in the fine print. I did, however, notice that the online sale could be combined with one additional promo code. I wonder if we'll see an additional cardholder promo or something in the next few days.

      Delete
    2. I saw the "can be combined with one addl promo" and was wondering the same thing. Guess we'll see. I am hoping the things I want are still available in store tomorrow. When they first starting running the 50% off entire store promo the place would be mobbed and wiped out on the first day. Now the promo has become a regular thing the crowds have seemed to thin. Would hate to a higher price on line as it does state everything with a handful of third party exclusions.

  32. The prices not reflecting the half off is very confusing!?!

  33. I had to call to get 50% off everything off my order. Some items in my cart had the 50% off price and some did not. BE careful!

    ReplyDelete
  34. It looks like things are getting adjusted online now. If you placed an order before and included non-50% off items, you should call and have them adjust!

    ReplyDelete
  35. Factory has some great men's boxers and socks! Such vivid colors and prints! Not sure how my husband feels about it, but he put me in charge of these things...

    ReplyDelete
  36. I received a very prompt response to my email requesting a price adjustment - they honored the lower price on my order so for those that ordered yesterday...I would definitely contact them for the lower price! Lesson learned here as well...waiting for day 2!!

    ReplyDelete
  37. So I did what shopmurphy suggested and asked for a price adjustment. It is for $17 off of an order that is $65, so that is quite a bit of savings.

I am annoyed that we should have to do this. They act as though it is a privilege to shop early and then penalize those of us that do by pulling crap like this. Ugh. I *know* that the price adjustment will happen, but we have to take the time and energy to explore that option. Makes me very wary to order in the future "early" access.

There is a darling tee I would like to order from the crewcuts for my daughter, and it says free shipping, but every time I attempt to make it work, it doesn't, and I am taking a firm stance that if they can't get their act together, they can do without my order. I *know* I could email for the free shipping, but again, why should I have to when this is ... the year 2014 ... other companies manage to make this work ... and they promise it right there on the item page.

    /rant.

  38. Well now I am especially testy since the email I sent to contactus@jcrewfactory.com (this is on their webpage, btw) was sent back as undeliverable. AWESOME. Way to work the internet in 2014, J. Crew. Ugh. Hopefully the contactus@jcrew.com still works.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Dina, hopefully you have luck with the retail address...I didn't have an issue with the factory email. I agree though, very aggravating to even have to do this in the first place!! What's the point of the early preview if you're not getting a better price than everyone else?

  41. Thanks for posting here everyone - I had ordered two things yesterday and called today and got a price adjustment on both of them.

So once again, this blog saved me money. Seriously, most useful blog EVER.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Glad that I have waited until today to place my order. I rarely order at factory because it is such a hassle for me to return but the great prices coupled with ina's timely reviews (thank you ina!) made it easier. Plus for once I don't feel like I am getting ripped off by buying online since they adjusted the prices to reflect the store promo. So I got the dress, shorts and Charlie in the punk floral print (last year I ended up returning the swoop top as too delicate/high maintenance for daywear and too "pretty/bright" for eveningwear) and the vacationland shorts. There are a few other things I am interested in but probably going to wait. Happy shopping!

    ReplyDelete
  43. I also just called for a price adjustment, and it saved me $30. I hope I can remember to shop day 2 of a new roll-out at factory.

    ReplyDelete
  44. I just called as well and "saved" $65 by asking for a price adjustment. On one hand, it's great that J Crew Factory is so helpful with the price adjustments. On the other hand, why oh why do they put us through this?
