Seek & Find: Will you visit J.Crew this Weekend?

This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)

If you are stopping by a J.Crew store this weekend to see what's available (if anything!) in the SALE, or to see some NEW ARRIVALS {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!

Also, please let us know if your local store is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)

P.S. I noticed that many of you have already been reporting sale items (and in which stores) in other posts which by the way "thank you!" :) I really appreciate how helpful we are for each other!

I almost bought it but restrained. It's in perfect condition; I looked carefully. HTH!

    2. Thank you so much!! It was gone at your store, but they helped me find it at another store. It was a fabulous price - $59.99 - 40%!! I've been thinking about this one for a while, so I'm glad I was able to get it for a song.

  4. I will not be visiting (no J.Crew near me now), but I am looking for a couple of items to do a charge/send for. If any JCA happens to see the Boyfriend Fatigue jacket in camo, size small or the Crinkle boy shirt in black check, size 0 or 2, could you please let me know?

    Email is: allthingssimplified.me@gmail.com

I know the camo jacket is still available online, but I'd prefer to get it with the higher discount if possible. :)

    4. Forgot to say, technically you could probably ask for the 50% off since it says in stores and online.
The jacket runs really large. I bought the xxs,so you might want to rethink the small.

    5. Thanks again, Ina! What size do you have in the regular boyfriend fatigue jacket?

  7. For those of us with a Tippi addiction, it's pretty clear that JC is discontinuing this style. As much as I love and rely on these sweaters (I own a bunch), it is entirely understandable that JC needs to move on - it has been a few years now. There are still a few in the sale section, but most are colors that I don't wear much. Doesn't mean I won't check for pop-backs! :)

    1. Yikes, I was very late to the Tippi addiction and just started my serious collection this year. They are perfect for Colorado weather, so thanks for the heads up cousy.

      Delete
    2. Oops - I'm wrong. There are some Tippi's at full price, including basic colors. Whew. Sorry to sound a false alarm.

      Delete
    3. Actually, they just added a new color - Bright Tangerine (and it is awesome in it's citrus hue!). I don't know if this means more new colors will be coming out (they do new ones each season), but I hope so. Love the Tippi. It's great on it's own or as a layering piece.

      Delete
    4. I really hope they keep the Tippi. This year I got it (them?) for the first time and I think it is the most perfect sweater ever...

(As I type this I see more JCAs are praising the Tippi. So happy! Maybe JCrew will listen?)

      Delete
    5. Yikes, I'm late to the Tippi too, only have two. I hope they stay around. I think they are perfect for Spring and Fall!

      Delete
    6. I was upset when they canned the Ceces, I will outright hold a vigil when they discontinue the Tippi! Between the retail & the Factory Charley I own 23 now. No shame in that game. They're the PERFECT sweater - merino, cotton, cashmere, prints, solids... love them all. I'm seriously considering buying a backup navy & black for when mine wear out. How long has the Jackie been around? I bought my first one in 2008. Hopefully the Tippi will have the same sort of shelf life!

  8. Factory reviews here of the skimmers in a beautiful aqua, a boys plaid shirt (thumbsup) and more.

And what George thinks about the mens marled shawled cardi and more.

    1. Gigi, you know I love your reviews but George's have me laughing so hard I can't read them at work except when no one is around. I think we should all pool our money and buy him that cardigan just for fun.

  9. Completely OT (and sorry if it's been mentioned a million times already) but I just noticed the new way that prices are being described on the Factory website. For instance, a Clare sweater states "valued at $54.50" then in red italics it says "your price $20.00."

My response is...ick. Not sure why. Is it the "personal" experience that they're trying to convey? And who is doing the "valuing"? I would never "value" a Clare at $54.50, no matter what the circumstances.

First World Problem. But bad taste in mouth.

    1. I wonder if they got into some kind of trouble with an AG or something. Because some of their stuff never actually sells at the "real" price. Basically it's advertised as a sale, but it's not really. I think some state consumer protection laws don't allow you to advertise something as discounted that never actually sold at the higher price.

      Delete
    2. I noticed the new verbiage yesterday and felt the same kind of "ick" feeling.

  10. Totally OT but for the ladies who are going to the mall this weekend or anywhete near a Victoria's Secrets, their laceys thongs (and hiphuggers) are on promo for $5 each (any style and color, even the basics that never go on sale) this weekend. There is a limit of 3 per customer but nothing forbids you from going in twice. I have never seen a price that low for these. In case you never tried them, it's a good time to do so, they will change your life (I was very skeptical and never wore thongs before and now I it's the only thing I wear). Happy shopping!

    1. Thanks for the heads up! The Lacies are so much better than Hanky Panky IMO.

    2. I usually buy the Hanky Pankys, but imthink i will try those. The price is great!

      Delete
    3. Lili316, I agree!

Ina, these fit like the Hanky Panky low-risers but they are a bit bigger (I mean the Hanky Pankies are cut smaller with a lot of stretch, these are cut a bit bigger upfront to accomodate bigger sizes and they are almost too loose on me) but they are and softer, aka more comfortable.

    2. The mini rollout just happened this past Wednesday, so based on previous months the May rollout will likely be on 4/23, with images from the catalog on JC's Pinterest page on 4/21 (but don't get too excited, it will take them like, 24 hours to load the images).

  12. I went to the Walden Galleria (Buffalo) today. They had a lot of the new arrivals, but nothing super jumped out at me. I tried on and really liked the Andie shorts in the olive / moss color. I didn't think I'd like them, but I did. I also picked up the perfect shirt in linen. It's a basic summer item and a good backdrop for scarves and jewelry. I tried on the Emma flats, but didn't really like them. I prefer a studier shoe, though. I used the FACEBOOK25 coupon. I don't have a ton of details on the sale section because there was nothing I really wanted, so I barely looked. I noticed a lot of lattice print items.

  13. I did stop by Park Meadows to do some returns. Ended up purchasing the Trenton Skirt aka Trellis Floral skirt for $23. There were some marked down to $39.99 so they honored that price. I did go down a size in this skirt and it looked much better. Minnie Pant in Dark Green $39.99 also and Tippi in Light Yellow $59.99, (thanks to Cousy starting the discontinuation fever above) all with 40% off. Sale section was stuffed to the rafters.

  14. OT- has anyone washed their Lace Striped Skirt yet? I'm wondering how the color is holding up and how wrinkled it's coming out of the dryer.

  16. Factory reviews here for...
    * the chambray skimmers (love)
    * rope sweatshirt (really?)
    * sleeveless dotted chambray (now $32.99) and
    * Charley in allover anchor (why the red?).

  17. Some stores are applying the Facebook promo to items that are promo-priced in-store. Good luck if you try. My store did not. I.e. the jewelry was still 25% off as of yesterday. I bought the flower bud tassel necklace (not online) and they wouldn't apply it. I'll try to post it on Instagram today.

Review of the Callie high-heel sandals in cobblestone. They're a little taupe-y, but read grey to me, which is nice.

  18. Factory has 60% off sale and random 30% off this and that. 40% off all shorts. SA said new arrivals come out Wednesday with preview on Tuesday. They had the punk floral skirt for $89.50 with no % off which I think is crazy. I got some good deals...a couple sweaters in crew cuts for around $7, a few vintage tees for $4 each and the win of the day...the navy striped Addie loafers for $17!! They had 50% off ballet flats as well. I used the gilt 25% off coupon off the final price and my bill went from $266 to $73. They had the color block anorak for $55 plus 60% off and the hooded fatigue jacket for $90 plus 60% off...very limited sizes on both. They also had swimsuits for $45 plus 60% off. Worth the trip if you need to stock up on some basics.

  19. Wanted to mention again the Gilt City coupon again. 25% off. Thanks for the reminder, reaganflowers, that it's also good in-store. Congrats on your amazing $17 flats! Impressive :)

  22. Just wanted to let everybody know that the blue grooto color in the crystal dot bracelet finally went on sale.
I bought it and cant wait to see it IRL.
Does anybody know how the color looks IrL?

    1. I have a lot of the Swarovkski Crystal Dot jewelry and I love it. I think the color IRL is a true representation of what is shown on the website. I plan to wear the Blue Grotto necklace with the Silk Cat Print blouse - the blues will be complementary.

  23. Went to the North Ave. store in Chicago today. I was in the area (visiting the new Nordstrom Rack that just opened next store, for any Chicago JCAs. I got a great deal on a Rebecca Minkhoff bag, but I digress). I mainly went to in to try on the new V-neck shell in black, which I really liked. It's a sturdy shell with stretch and the perfect V and length for me (I am short waisted). I think it will be a workhorse in my wardrobe. I would say it fits TTS to a little big. I will probably go with the smaller of my two sizes. I mentioned before, it has an exposed zip-I know many JCAs have an aversion to them, but I don't mind them. I am going to order it online with the Facebook 25 promo (I didn't even feel like asking in store if they would take the promo) and I will probably order a few other items that are online only (Martinas, I can't quit you!) Other than that, not much else is catching my eye. Oh, I did get the neonish pink medallion baseball. It came to around $9 or $10 with % off final sale.

  24. I went in today and got a beautiful bracelet (not online) that's perfect for small wrists. The SAs were exclaiming over how it doesn't fit anyone... Pictures on my blog. Maqsadshops at blogspot dot com

    1. saw it..its nice.
I tried on the new pencil skirt..the side-slit crepey one. They only had the cream/ivory color. It has elastic at the back of the waist band. It was just okay...the other colors are probably very pretty.
I was at the newish Alderwood Mall in seattle/lynwood. The SA that helped me was SUPERB ! I had three online orders to return and she was very helpful....I will make it my to visit store when I go south from now on !
A few more tips...the linen cardis and the pull over sweater are both very light weight...will not stand up to heavy wear...nice but I would trash them quickly and the floundry shorts are not as long as I had hoped...and I know I can re create these on my own from older pants myself. The bell loafers extremely marked down to $85 are nice in the pink IRL. hth

    1. I actually bought this one on sale - 40% as a bathing suit coverup. I sized down one size. I think it's going to be fabulous for me all summer long. We're going to the beach at the end of July and I think it's going to be a perfect beach to shops type of coverup.

  26. Just discovered the Eaton boy trousers (a bit late, I know…) and got three pairs this weekend in black, blue, and gray. They were on sale (~$70), plus 40% off, and the SA applied the 25% Facebook discount on top, so the pants ended up being ~$35 each. Very flattering, well made, great fabric. And the SA were extremely helpful: they ordered one pair for me with all the discounts and free shipping. Overall, a very positive visit.

My only complaint is this: price tags did not seem to reflect current prices. For example, the Eatons were marked ~100$. Thus, I am sure I passed on great deals just because I did not know the real price of items. (Good for my wallet, not so good for JCrew.) I imagine sticking new price tags to each and every piece must be very time consuming. Maybe JCrew could install a couple of devices like those in Target, where you scan labels and get current prices?

    1. absolutely agree, especially with jewelry. the montgomery mall store in bethesda, maryland, very rarely actually marks down their case jewelry even though it's on sale, and it's sometimes like pulling teeth to get them to scan items to see if they're actually cheaper.

  27. OT...dvf.com is having 25% off most items(not new arrivals). They have some similar items to jcrew for a lot less and the quality is significantly higher. For those that like the baseball look...they have a cashmere sweater for $100 after discount and several cute dresses/coats. May be worth a look. This is e last day of the extra 25% off.
