J.Crew Factory's Summer Sneak Peek (extra 25% off everything)

"Thanks!" to many of you, who shared the following news/email from J.Crew Factory with us.

J.Crew Factory is offering an extra 25% off with promo code SALE25. Yey! This offer expires April 27, 2014.

J.Crew Factory is also offering a "Summer sneak peek", but I can't seem to see any new pieces. Maybe I am overlooking something.

On a different note, one of Factory's looks includes the Factory tropical short-sleeve shirt with the matching Factory printed pull-on short. Both pieces are quite lovely (and already sold out!) However, I do not care for them paired together.

The look screams "Pajama Party". The leather hand bag and heels can't save this look from the bedroom either. I am not sure why J.Crew thinks this PJ trend is worth pushing.

Did you notice the "Summer Sneak Peek" at Factory? Any pieces you are interested in getting? Thoughts on the matching PJ look? Please share! :)

  1. Don't understand the "sneak peek" verbiage either! In a Factory-related question, has anyone tried the Factory Swing Tunic? It looks a little different from retail & I'm wondering how it fits. TIA!

    1. Hi Taylor - I just got mine in the mail and I think it's fantastic. It is less swingy than the retail version but in a better way - the sleeves are not as "dolmany" and I think that the shape is more flattering overall. It's a little longer than the retail version but drapes very nicely. I took my usual S and wouldn't size down. I really wish that it was delivered yesterday because I would've ordered more colors while the 50% was going on (got the navy). Darn you, SurePost!

    2. Thanks, silver_lining! It's freezing in my office, even throughout the summer, so I wear sweaters year-round. This seemed like a good contender!

  2. I tried the head-to-toe look w/the floral punk top & skimmers in this post. It was fun to try & felt comfortable in a pjs way, but the love stops there. I didn't like it on me. I think Skinny Hipster looks awesome in it rocking the lattice medallion head to toe. She's tall and thin and I think that's the key. There's a tall, thin SA who wore the look together and it worked on her, too. She said she likes it because it's like a jumpsuit, but not difficult to manage when going to the restroom.

If you missed the 50% off sitewide, don't despair. ;) Most of the items are still on promo. With the addtl 25%, the net price is close to 50% off.

I.e. I reviewed a red/white stripe boatneck top in this post. It was added online as of today. If it were 50% off, it'd be $21.50. It nets $22.13 w/SALE25.

  3. Ordered the gold/white stripe boatneck top and received it yesterday. Very nice fabric, not see-through. Fits TTS to slim.
Vacationland shirt is cute but color looks terrible on me. It's going back. Has rounded, peter pan type collar that I didn't notice in the online photo.

  4. I was all over the slip and lingerie style camis and dresses as day-wear in college. The look can sometimes border on trashy not sultry, unless it's paired with clothing that's decidedly casual yet streamlined, like long fine-knit cardigans. However I just cannot get behind the pjs look, especially matchy-matchy like above. I thinks it's cute sleepwear but would not wear outside. I'd feel ridiculous. I guess I'm over that phase in my life.

I stopped at an outlet store in PA on Monday and was thoroughly unimpressed. I don't know why but I wasn't feeling anything, even at their half off prices (which I think is still too pricey for what they are). I only picked up a couple of luggage tags on deep sale as I always loose those. My sis picked up the stripe anchor sweater, a pair of light gray Anya suede ballet flats and a spring scarf.

  5. I took advantage of this promo last night, when the items were still 50% off before the code was applied. I got the Pleated ponte dress in regal blue and the Airspun boyfriend sweater in heather cloud. I'm sort of kicking myself for not getting the Swing tunic, too.

  6. soo...this is a dumb question but i am a newbie. are the clothes on the factory site actually different from the ones in the actual store?

    1. Yes, they are different, although lately factory has been copy-catting previous season retail hits. Still, those copy-cat versions differ in quality and material, sometimes for the better because more practical materials like poly and cotton are used, rather than silk or cashmere. It seems sometimes factory stores will receive shipments of languishing retail sale items, or even on occasion, Madewell items. So, in general, cheaper quality and materials at factory, but not necessarily worser for wear.

    2. I'd have to disagree that an item made from poly instead of silk is better, even if its easier to wash. :P

  7. Does anyone happen to know what shoe is featured in the boys favorite outfit pics with the white tie up shoes with a small blue trim in front? Doesn't look like converse.
