might be willing to share that
information with us in this post.
Also, this request is not just limited to clothes. Please feel free to discuss bags, shoes, jewelry, accessories, etc.
In
particular, if you could
mention a few of the noteworthy
details like fit, size, fabric, and the
like— that would be fantastic! Thanks
in advance! :)
New promo: SHOPNOW for 30% sale items and 50% (!) off final sale items. I grabbed the vivid lemon crystal necklace. Happy shopping!
ReplyDeleteSome reviews from my latest JC visit here.
ReplyDeleteI don't know if this has been discussed already, but has anyone tried washing their stretch wool Eaton boy trouser at home? It's not the same composition as the wool Minnies, which I've heard can be washed at home, so I wasn't sure the spandex content would be enough to keep the wool from shrinking.
ReplyDeleteExtra 30% off online and free shipping at Factory with code JOKES today only. Not sure if this is better than the until April 6th deal: 40 - 60% off everything plus an additional 20% or 25% off if you purchase more than $125. I assume the latter deal will return tomorrow. Maybe.
ReplyDeleteI don't think today's deal is better. They raised the prices and then added the 30% off coupon. I purchased some things with the other promo and everything I bought is now more expensive even with the extra 30% off.

These are so pretty and so comfortable1
Has anyone tried the Campbell Capri in seersucker? Just wondering if it fits the same as the abstract wave and lattice medallion print pairs. Also has anyone washed them yet? My seersucker cafe capris from last year seemed to draw up more than the regular cotton fabric. It would be nice to know because I love the look on the model.
ReplyDeleteWashed my lattice medallion on cold in a mesh laundry bag. They turned out great. Put them in the dryer for about one minute and then hung them to dry. Ironed very nicely. No shrinkage.
DeleteI believe the fit is the same on the seersucker Campbells, but the fabric is 100% cotton and doesn't have as much "give" as the other Campbell pants.
DeleteI just bought the seersucker Campbells today and I agree there's not too much stretch. I had to size up, my usual size was a tight squeeze. They are really nice though and I think I'll wear them with everything this summer...I've never been a fan of the Cafe capris and they looked horrible on me, but the cut of the Campbells seems much more flattering.
DeleteDoodle Daschund, amy h and farmgirl: Thanks to you all for your input. Sounds like I may need to drop by the store and try these on in person.

ReplyDeleteSeveral Factory reviews here.
ReplyDeleteSome retail reviews here.
ReplyDeleteSome regular priced items are flagged at 25% off w/SHOPNOW. Like the stripe skinny sweatpants & stripe sailor top, reviewed here.
ReplyDeleteI also reviewed the falsetto printed leather pumps in this post.
Wow, those are bold! It's like op-art for your feet!
DeleteAny feedback about the "Puff-sleeve blazer in stretchy cotton" - warm poppy color? Fit, sizing, material, lining, color... TIA!
ReplyDeleteLily - Petite PhD has the puff sleeve blazer in vanilla in this post.
DeleteI saw the color in store- it is gorgeous!
DeleteThanks Gigi and Alex!
DeleteAgree, it is a true red (a bit like the chili color from last year)
DeleteIt is a beautiful true red (now that I'm thinking about it.... maybe I should pick it up to wear for the Wisconsin game this weekend...). I liked the 12 when I tried this style of blazer on - it looked sleek and was very comfortable thanks to the stretch! I have the new schoolboy blazer in 14 talls, FYI.
DeleteThanks for the link love, Gigi!
DeleteLily - I think the red is beautiful in-person although I didn't try it on.
Slightly off topic, but has anyone seen the New Balance sneakers in store anywhere? The Canadian stores don't carry them and my size is sold out online in every colour.
ReplyDeleteTry the Collection store on Madison Avenue @65th in NYC, they used to have them a couple of weeks ago
DeleteI ordered the boy's Crewcuts version of the Camo Tee for $15 on one of the many promos and I really like it. I'm a sz. 4 for the most part in JC tops and I got the boy's sz. 16 and there was plenty of room, especially through the shoulders. I debated re-ordering in a sz. 14, but I figured I can toss it in the dryer w/no concerns since there's a little extra room. The camo pattern is navy and I think the material is less sheer than the ladies' version. I'm quite pleased w/the shirt for the price I got it at.
ReplyDeleteI just received a few packages (errr, 6 to be exact).
ReplyDeleteThe tipped merino v-neck is great for the cutrent price. For some reasons I thought it would be thin but it is the same weigth than the Tippis. I ordered a size fown from usual size and the fit it is perfect on me (because of the side slits there is no problem with the hips and it would have been too big on top in a XS, think. I got the navy/poolside (which I expected to be mint but is more of a sky blue, although it is quite irrelevant) and ordered another one in the cloud/white.
I also ordered the neon bikini in pink. Holy neon! I expected it to be neon but it is a darker pink than it looks on my monitor (neon azalea), more similar to last year neon rose. If you don't mind being noticed on the beach it's going to be great with a tan ;-).
I also have Madewell reviews (but later).
I took the smaller of my two sweater sizes. I got the other two colors, the sand yellow and lilac navy. I'm thinking the sand yellow will look cute with last season's embroidered floral neon skirt.
DeleteI think it will be too heavy for the season but it's a cute styling idea.
DeleteI forgot to mention that it's the perfect V-neck to wear solo as the V is noot too deep and revealing...
So Madewell. I ordered the latticework skirt and matching shirt (but in non matching colors, the skirt in black and the shirt in white as I am always looking for the perfect white shirt).
ReplyDeleteThe shirt is a bit off-white, which turned me off at first as I was expecting pure white (it still reads white and not ivory ot cream). But besides this I am completely in love mainly because they managed to do eyelet in a way that isn't too sweet. For a starter, the buttons are somewhat casual (they are like painted in enamail? Not sure but they give it acasual vibe). I ordered a XS and it fits perfectly (no gaping). It isn't superfitted, especially towards the bottom but it is just perfect. The cotton isn't super-refined but it quite sturdy. There isn't much of a sleeve, it is almost a cap-sleeve (but without the funny fit). It is going to be a summer staple.
The skirt is a love as well but it is fuller than I expected it. It is lined in another layer of cotton up to the eyelet trim which creates a bit of extra-volume around the waist (the waistband is thin). So my advice is to size one up if you aren't super-thin at the waist. I went with my regular 0 and it sits right at my waist, without being tight. I think a 2 would have been fine as wel and would sit a bit lower which could help with the volume.
It is a beautiful skirt and if you can pull off midi I highly recommend. I have pics on my IG (crazyaboutjcrew).
I checked your IG earlier today and am soooo in love with both the shirt and skirt. You look absolutely fabulous in both and I really hope I can somehow grab them on a discounted price!
DeleteHoping for some help. I have factory cotton skimmer in a 6. They have always been shorter than I would like and now I've gained a tiny bit and they are too snug. I ordered an 8T retail on the last promo. First--love the fabric of retail on these much more. But the 8T fit as if it was 2+sizes bigger, rather than just longer and one size up. Should I exchange for a 6T or wash and dry the 8T (I'd love to have these be dryer friendly!!)?
ReplyDeleteKim - I would order the 6T. They stretch out during the day as you wear them. I did a review of regular 6 vs regular 8 in the seersucker skimmers. See this post.
DeleteCan anyone comment on the Collection Linen Rain Slicker? I saw past reviews of it running small but wondering if anyone has tried this year's version. Also interested to know how well others have held up over the years. I live in the Pacific NW so having multiple raincoats is a given but finding cute & practical ones a little tougher.
ReplyDeleteI wear 4 schoolboy but for most of my coats I've sized up to a 6- wondering if a 6 would be big enough for light layers or if an 8 would be best. Thanks!
DeleteI have the one from two years ago and it hold up quite well, no signs of wear at all, all hardware intact (and shiny), no problem with stitching coming undone. That said we don't get as much rain here in NYC in late spring-summer as in other parts of the country so I can't talk for daily or almost daily wear.
DeleteThanks Ema!
DeleteIt is not a super water resistant coat. It rains quite a bit in the spring here in Toronto, and I found that it was good for a light sprinkling of water, but not for anything heavier. The water seeps into the seams and the fabric turns darker when wet. Size-wise, I took a size 4 but I think a 6 would have been better so that I could wear heavier sweaters underneath. For reference, I wear size 4 in the stadium cloth duffle coat and cocoon coat, and XS in the downtown field jacket.
DeleteI had the version from a couple years ago and it did not work for me. It was adorable, but I wore it once, on a humid rainy day and felt like I was wearing a walking sauna. No breathability at all. Not good. At least for me.
DeleteMy boss & I tried on a dress together.
ReplyDeleteLast Madewell review from me: the cotton cutoff tee that was a net of $21 with promo. It seemed like an easy tee for the summer. Well, I would only wear it to sleep in at best. It is very soft (but not thin, which is a plus) but the fit is terrible on me and makes me look very wide. It has a slight hi-lo thing going on in the back which I usually like but it is just too boxy. When I ordered there was no xxs but it could be a matter of sizing. I also quite dislike the pocket that by the way is positioned quite below my breast (which probably means it's too big). In case it is a concern for some of you the hems are not raw (as "cutoff" made me think).
ReplyDeleteThis is the only thing I am going to return from Madewell so I am positively surprised (as I don't order Madewell that often, one or maybe two things each season at best).
Any intel on the Pocket silk blouse? Retail sizing is numbers; Factory sizing is letter. Does retail 00 = Factory XS, and so forth, or does it fit a size bigger ie retail 0 = Factory XS? TIA!
ReplyDeletedoes anyone know what has gone on sale recently in store or online? I can't tell using the website now!
ReplyDeleteAD MD - Cut this week werere minor, for the most part. I.e. another $20 cut, etc.. I'm still working on the Irl Pic Review Guide for sale, which seems to take even longer now.
DeleteI noted some in-store cuts at the bottom of this post.
...it should also be noted the SHOPNOW is working for 25% off some regular price items. The info is red on the product page of applicable items.
Deleteand one more thing...addtl 40% off final sale was still going in-store as of yesterday, 4/2
DeleteGigi! Thank so much for posting this--I just purchased the diamond ikat dress this past weekend!
DeleteI have a review of some spring items HERE, several of which are eligible for the 25% with code SHOPNOW. The lace stripe skirt is my fav of the bunch, am considering getting it with this promo.
ReplyDeleteCollection cashmere boyfriend V-neck sweater: This is so horrible on me! I assumed it would have a roomier fit so I sized down to the XXSmall, but it was still incredibly wide through the torso. Add to that that it was also short, barely coming to the top of my jeans. The two combined made for a very unflattering silhouette. Needless to say, back it went, and I am now waiting on my regular Cashmere V-Neck sweater to arrive. I already own one, so I know that it is a flattering fit, at least. I will say that the Heather Indigo colorway which I ordered the boyfriend sweater in is a very lovely shade, so I would not hesitate to order another style of sweater in that color.
ReplyDeletehave some madewell reviews HERE of mostly older items that are or were on sale.
ReplyDeleteCan anyone comment on sizing for the crinkle boy shirt in black check? Is it TTS? I am hoping to catch it on popback, but not sure whether to size up one or go with my regular boy shirt size. TIA for any advice! :)
