"Looking to VENT" with J.Crew

This is the weekly "Looking to VENT with J.Crew" post, a place to share our not-so-stellar experiences with J.Crew.

If you have recently experienced a frustrating situation with J.Crew, maybe you might be willing to share that information with us in this post.

Please feel free to share your story on almost any topic— including poor experiences with purchases & orders, promotions/ offers, in-store visits, transactions with store associates, etc.

  1. I really dislike how much in store prices differ from store to store. Furthermore, even the prices STILL differ despite the stores being within the same area. I really wanted to try on and purchase the Pack Green Schoolboy Blazer which was discounted. However, at the Rockerfeller location, it rung up at full price and the SA said it wasn't on sale.Yet, at the Madison Ave location, it was discounted to $69.99. Those two locations are practically within walking distance from each other! Unfortunately, the green blazer was out of stock by the time I got there. Seriously, J Crew, get your in store pricing together. At least have all the prices be the same in stores in the same city.

  2. Placed an order today. The "final sale" wording was not on any items before I placed my order but showed up after the order was placed. Can't remember that happening.

    1. The Pretty Running Girl - It worked for me in the past 30 min. SALE40 is good on the clearance section. Just clarifying, in case you thought it's good sitewide.

  5. My package was shipped 12/15 but U still have not received it. I called UPS andt they told me I needed to contact JC to have them call and start an investigation on the package. Does anyone know if they come up empty will JC give me a refund? It was a very large order :(

    1. They'll definitely give you a refund or re-send the merchandise. I've had orders vanish before, even one that UPS marked as having arrived.

    2. My sister did not get a refund. She had to pay for the items again as it said UPS had delivered the package. She believes it was stolen off her porch. Anyway, I guess it just depends.....

  6. I received a brand new Biennial Hobo in Henna leather in November 2013 as a birthday gift, brand new, tags attached. I have carried it for one month and the sealant on the leather handles is cracking all over! Has anyone else had this issue with their Biennial Hobo? I asked one of the managers at the store I frequent but she acted annoyed and wasn't very helpful. JC Customer Service is going to do a search for me and offer me a gift card in exchange for the defective bag. I was so bummed. I really love the style of the Biennal Hobo!!

  7. I recently placed 3 orders from Jcrew.com, 1 on 12/24 and 2 on 12/28. At least one item has been cancelled from each and every order! It's just unbelievable. And I haven't received any shipping notifications for the 12/28 orders. JC really messed up their inventory and delivery system. I used to shop so much from JC that I have a special folder in my email account for JC orders. Now I think my addiction to JC has been cured by JC itself. Thank you JCrew!

  8. Cannot purchase sweaters at Jcrew for years as they are too short (and I have a short torso so that's saying a lot!). I don't know if they do this because they know after one or two dry cleanings they will shrink even more and we'll have to buy MORE jcrew sweaters? And the thing that bugs me most about them is that any piece of clothing I fall in love with on the site is over $400. Anything affordable is just basic, nondescript button up or cardigan. I spend lots of money on clothing....not afraid to do so....but I don't know of anyone in my city of Rochester, NY who would ever buy a sweater for $500. Ridiculous. Who is their target customer? Gwyneth? Certainly not the average public who "made" them successful in the first place.
