This is the weekly "Other JCrew-like Retailers" post (similar to the "Off On A Tangent"
posts), where we can share our finds from other
retailers that have offerings similar to J.Crew
(like Anthropologie, LE Canvas, Gap, BR, Talbots, Ann
Taylor, and the like.)
If you
have recently encountered items that are similar to
J.Crew, maybe you might be
willing to share that information with us
in this post.
Please feel
free to share your story on almost any topic—
including experiences with certain merchandise pieces,
promotions/ offers, in-store visits,
transactions with store associates, etc.
Lots of J.Crew-like items in this post. Included this week are alternatives for the Military Pocket Shirt, Pixie pant in leather tuxedo stripe, and Perfect shirt in chambray polka dot, just to name a few. :)
ReplyDeleteHi ladies - I picked up the Loft cotton knit button down specifically to layer under Tippis and am happy with it. It is very thin and pretty see-through in the white, but it it soft and lets me do layers without looking too bulky. I don't think it's worth FP, but they have flash sales all the time... I got mine for half off.
ReplyDeleteLoving the Kate Spade Essex Scout cross-body purse I got from their recent sale. It is exactly what I wanted and the turquoise color is great. Its shape and size are almost exactly the same as the J. Crew Marlie cross-body purse.
ReplyDeleteCate, so glad your Essex worked out!
DeleteI really like it! It was a big final sale risk, phew!
DeleteI just ordered some canvas stripe pointy flats from the Gap yesterday. They have 40% off. They remind me of the stripe Vivs that I missed out on and could not find on ebay
ReplyDeleteA trio of sMacKdoWns", including the J. Crew seamed motorcycle pants which are on promo + HAPPYSALE.
ReplyDeleteI totally missed out on the 65% off sale at Ann Taylor, but both AT and Loft have a lot of cute stuff and are still running 50% off sale.
ReplyDeleteVince right now has an additional 25% off sale items and no minimum for free shipping. All purchases are final sale. I really like how they are doing leather accents (e.g., sweaters and shirts with leather sleeves). You can check out the sale link HERE
Went to Madewell last week and tried on the Silk Dress in Night Orchid and absolutely loved it. I think Madewell makes the best and most reasonably-priced 100% silk dresses. The sleeves, the pockets, and the pattern are all total love. I didn't buy it and am going to gamble on a sale, but it looks like it's selling well...
Also tried the Keaton Oxford in red but they didn't have my size in stores or online. It's the perfect oxford in my opinion.
Club Monaco was doing 50% off clearance, although there wasn't much there I liked. Their regular sale section right now looks pretty good and there are lots of gorgeous coats. I picked up the Julia skirt on a popback and it's a knee-length piece in a light blue that was part of their winter collection, but I think the color will also make it perfect for spring.
Does the 25% off vince require a code? I'm obsessed with their sweaters! Thanks

Hey, all. :)
ReplyDeleteBoden started a "spring trim" on Sunday which is set to last six total days. The first two days were dresses and shoes for women at 20% off, yesterday and today are skirts, pants, and tops, and tomorrow and Friday are set to include Coats/Jackets/Knitwear/Nightwear (Cold Weather items).
I wrote more about the promo going on yesterday and today here.
Hi, has anyone else noticed that stock is updating on the web site at a different time? Not sure if I am just crazy, but this morning I checked if shorts on my wish list were available…they were not. I just was back on the site and they were back in stock…so I bought them. The same thing happened the other day. I noticed almost all colours of the cashmere scarf were sold and then by the afternoon two more colours appeared???
ReplyDeleteThis happens to me all the time. The navy majesty peacoat was out of stock in my size yesterday, but back in stock this morning.
DeleteAs I thought they might be, Sundance Catalog's Flatterer jeans are the same jeans as their No Worries jeans, just in a different wash. Definitely still a slouchy/very casual look, but I like that.
ReplyDeleteA few more Old Navy reviews and a sMaCkDoWn.
