ReplyDeleteboth the 5th ave and prince st stores in nyc had a racks and racks of stuff in the sale section, but they were all pretty much the old stuff that had been lying around for months, altho i saw a couple of tipped double cloth coats marked 199.99 in sz 6 and 8 and a pair of parker boots marked 109.99 in sz 7! wish they had been in my size or in stock online! i also saw someone about to buy a pair of patent darbys and was just shocked that the SA was about to ring it up FP. i just had to intervene......

DeleteI went to J.Crew on Friday only because I was in the mall for a return. I ended up buying the wool shawl collar blazer for about $30. It was a totally unplanned purchase but that price and the fact that it was a nice black blazer swayed me to buy.
ReplyDeleteTHEN on Saturday my friend and I drove to the J.Crew Clearance center and stumbled into their sample sale. I'd never experienced the sample sale before and it was a bit overwhelming with a million and one boxes of stuff but I managed to score some really good pieces including some that are still on the website. You can't beat Martinas for $25 and bathing suit pieces for $5 each. I got 2 pairs of shoes, a tee, a popover top, a bikini top and bottom and a pair of wool pants for about $100. Very happy with my purchases because some of them I thought about buying in the retail store but never did.
