Seek & Find: Will you visit J.Crew this Weekend?

This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)

If you are stopping by a J.Crew store this weekend to see what's available (if anything!) in the SALE, or to see some NEW ARRIVALS {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!

Also, please let us know if your local store is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)

P.S. I noticed that many of you have already been reporting sale items (and in which stores) in other posts which by the way "thank you!" :) I really appreciate how helpful we are for each other!

  1. Off topic, but Factory online now has 40% off clearance and free shipping on all orders. I just snagged the Sylvia patent leather wedges in cabernet for $33! Many JCAs have reported that these are actually the retail Martina leather patent shoes, (The Sylvias in the other colors are pleather, but the cabernet version is described as actual leather). I also got the silk accordion collar top in fuchsia for $22. I have it in vivid jade and love it. I am pretty sure this top is 100% silk. I may go to a retail store this weekend because I have to go to the mall to do some returns, but I really have not been seeing anything lately nor is there anything I really want right now at the retail store. I am going to a store I haven't visited since before the holidays (Old Orchard in Skokie) so you never know!

    1. They are leather. I have them and love them.

    2. Do you know how the Sylvia fit? I am 8 in the factory version of the Etta.

    3. i just ordered a pair..cant beat that price...just hope they fit..its final sale

    4. JCAs who own them, can you comment on the color? Is it red red or more burgundy-ish, like an aubergine color, and are they leather lined? Did you take the same size in these as the other retail Martinas? TIA!

      Delete
    5. For this particular color, I ordered a half size up from my usual size. My box even says Martina on it. For the Factory Sylvia's in black patent, I take my usual size. For the sale going on now, they are a must have. I got mine for $48 and I thought I got them for a steal. Good Luck.

    6. The color is definitely on the burgundy side, not red. My box has the color listed as dark aubergine

      Delete
    7. Oops, forgot to mention that was the color of the Martinas on the retail side when they sold them. During the holidays I saw them pop up in the sale section for much more money than the same ones listed on the factory site. And they are leather lined. Good luck.

    8. I posted a photo of these on my Instagram here.
As others noted, they're burgundy, on the darker side, almost a raisin color. I take a 1/2 size up in most J.Crew shoes and these are the same. I found them to be a tad more snug than my suede Martinas but I think they just need a little breaking in, I wouldn't have gone up a full size. Great deal at the current $54.99 + 40% off

    9. Wow, thanks for the reports, ladies! Really can't beat that deal.

    10. Snagged a pair of Darby studded cap toe loafers for roughly $25 in store today. Havent read reviews about them yet but they feel comfortable for that price.

    11. AN - I reviewed the Darby studded cap-toes in this post. You got a super bargain. Darbys are as comfortable as the Ceces. I love them.

  2. Let me know how the Old Orchard store is! I might venture over if there's a good selection of sale items...

  3. Over 1600 items in sale section again, and I got up late. What's the story, JC?

    1. You didn't miss anything. It was the same old stuff. And it's likely that whatever you'd have ordered would have been canceled anyway.

    2. It was 1380+ last night when I peeked in, so clearly stock is not moving.

Better lower the prices or get rid of final sale!

    3. My store is clearing out its sale section, so I think that B&M merchandise is headed back to the warehouse. Popbacks ahead!

  4. If anyone hears anything about rewards while out this weekend will you post please? Post-holiday rewards are the best!

    1. Hi HollDoll - supposedly, rewards were mailed on January 2nd so JCA's should be getting them soon (probably as soon as FUNSALE ends, isn't that usually the way it goes). They'll probably expire on 3/15/14 like in previous years. I know that JCA's in the past have had SA's look up their rewards if they wanted to use them before getting the card in the mail. HTH!

You should see the sale section at the B&M. So many shirts lined up on the wall and no one is buying, even at 50% off.

  7. No visit for me - I haven't gone to the store or ordered in quite a while. Has anybody seen the peacoat trench (02769) IRL? I think the price is ridiculous but am curious about the fit and the removable quilted lining. It's sold out in the khaki color so somebody must have seen it!

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. silver_lining - I can't believe all of the sizes are gone in the khaki. I wonder if it's a website glitch. I haven't seen the peacoat trench irl. It says select stores, so it's not online only. Will keep my eye out.

    2. They have it at my store in navy but I didn't try it on. The material looks a bit stiff and personally I don't like the giant buttons. If you have specific questions I can take another look.

      Delete
    3. I've seen it at my B&M in SF, and tried the navy, I haven't seen the khaki color. I like sturdy stiff trench coats. I'm sure once you've gotten some wear out of it, it'll soften up.

It feels bulky with the lining, although I didn't try taking the lining off to see how it feels without it. The sleeve length is short, bracelet sleeve length.

I agree with Ema, the buttons are big, but I kind of like it. I am bummed that its sold out online. I hope they restock the khaki color, since I'm on a student budget so I have to save $ for it. :-/

    4. They had it in navy at the SF Westfield store. I agree that the material is very stiff - think waxed cotton - and it runs large IMO. I definitely don't think it is worth full retail ($298). If you can, I would wait for a sale.

  10. Can anyone comment on the quality of the Lulu Frost jewelry, specifically the Indian Summer and Harvest Moon bracelets and earrings? I tracked some down and am debating ordering them, but wanted to see how others felt about them first. Thanks in advance!

    1. Hi Marielarue7, see Ryanetta's review on her blog that I've linked below. I haven't had the best experience with the line for J.Crew before; the material seemed cheap in quality. However, I did order a necklace and earrings from the Harvest Moon collection which I have not yet received.

  12. The best evidence yet that the sale merch isn't moving? I put two items in my cart three days ago and they're still there. Often my cart is dumped in a matter of hours!

Still debating whether to order the Parker tall boots. Price is decent ($150 after promo). I ordered the short Parkers earlier but had to return them because they were too big. Can I assume that the next smaller size will work in the tall boots?

  14. Still looking for the Tippi sweater in XXS in warm cocoa, has anyone seen one in your travels? TIA!

  15. Did stop by to do some returns. Got the 40% off stars in my eyes and realized I did not need what I had ordered. Sale section is bursting still at my B&M, nothing is moving. I agree with others, lower the prices, keep the 50% off and drop the final sale and maybe some of this merchandise will move, in store and online. Plus the items that I ordered ended in .99 and no one mentioned Final Sale and that I could not return them.

  16. Does anyone know if the 50% off sale will continue through the weekend? I am guessing it will, but wondered if anyone had any insight on this. Thanks!

    1. Marielarue7 - The legalese states that the sale goes till 1/21 in-store & online. It also states final sale is an addtl 40% off online & in-store, but as we know it's 50% off in-store.

I would think the addtl 50% would go thru 1/21, but we just never know w/the Crewniverse. I would bet it definitely goes thru this Sunday for sure.

      Delete
    2. Thanks Gigi. That's what I figured. Just got back from the Crewlet and the sale section was completely depleted, but they did have the pink and yellow flower necklaces similar to last year's retail version. Also, the regular J. Crew on F St. in DC had a bunch of the jeweled fair isle sweaters in the navy/maroon color if anyone is still looking, otherwise just lots of random items that no one seems to want.

      Delete
    3. Marielarue7 - They hadn't marked that fair isle sweater down (review) as of last week. I think that's why it's still hanging around in-store. I wonder if some stores shipped some back because now the navy is available online and it had been sold out.

  17. Probably not. I am done with the winter final sale, already purchased what I liked from that first roll out and am not overly impressed with any of the new things that launched this week.

  18. I'm sick of J. Crew and their website/inventory/ordering issues. I tried purchasing a pair of shoes online this morning and got an "unable to process request" messege but my credit card was authorized for the cost of the shoes. I called customer service and they said "whoops must've been a website issue we can repurchase them for you and charge you again" I refused. I'm done buying from them for awhile.

    1. ashton, in my experience, the "we will find it for you" service does not work. i much prefer the "i will find it for myself" service, because there are no dashed hopes, no recurring false authorizations and you actually get what you want rather than just hankering for it. to wit, i did the WWFIFY repeatedly for a few items. the online versions failed and gave me sorry notices. then a store looked up nationwide inventory, found it, put it in the order for a charge send, but guess what? that went through the locator service, too and so i never got my items, because by the time they processed the order and actually sent it to the store in question the items were gone. pffft! jcrew store and phone cs kept saying, we're sorry, unfortunately we don't have a real-time inventory system. umm. that sounds like an oxymoron. if it's not real-time, then it isn't an inventory system, it's an estimate of what the company may have in its warehouses. so if jcrew is reading this - can you please make it an automated system, where any WWFIFY requests function like a waitlist. If an return comes in, the system can auto match it against a pending search order, and voila, company makes a successful sale, customer gets item, WWFIFY team doesn't get overloaded and fall many days behind. Sweet customer service meets modern century technology = real sweetness. I know the folks at J Crew get it = after all they're all about good design, and surely that extends to systems and technologies.

  22. Went to the retail store in Old Orchard mall in Skokie, IL and was totally disappointed in their sale section. By far the slimmest selection I've seen in the Chicago area. They did have a ton of the camo scarves for$29.99 before the 50% off. MI Ave store has the best sales section in the Chi area.

    1. @312JCgirl, I went to the store in the Schaumburg mall and the sale section was so depleted it was almost bare. One notable exception was the keeper chambray in star dot- there must have been 40 size 4's on the rack! Very disappointing.

    2. Also went to North Ave in Chicago. Sales section was not as depleted. They has a ton of certain items like the stretch tweed dress but not a lot of variety. I did find the Cate tank in iced lilac paisley for $15.

  23. I stopped by to return. Sale section was depleted. I don't know if they sold it or if they shipped it back, since I hadn't been in in a while I couldn't tell. New merchandise is okay, nothing I was interested in. I was told January 27th they will have new merchandise.

  27. I stopped in for returns as well and my sale section was completely decimated. It would make sense if they sent stuff back.

Slightly OT, one of my returns was an item purchased during the final sale but my packing slip didn't state that they were final sale so I took my chances. SA did the return but told me that the items were final sale. I remember seeing that many people's slips didn't indicate final sale but the system must still show that they are.

  31. Stopped by the Factory store. They have a version of the Beaded Rose necklace and bracelet. There were yellow and coral colored necklaces and I only noticed the coral colored bracelet. I bought the coral necklace but not the bracelet (it has a clasp and bracelets with clasps drive me nuts). I'm calling it coral but I'm not sure if that's accurate. It is not J. Crew's "modern red" color, though, the color is definitely more toward coral. I think the flowers were all the same size. The heft of the necklace seemed less than the original retail version and I like it better. I don't see it online.

  32. hi..we really need some new arrivals to talk about.
Jan. is so boring. I cleaned out my closet this weekend and a large number of J Crew shirts, sweaters and shoes went to goodwill.I like to donate as it makes me feel better about my spending..
I vow to now not ever shop final sale unless I love the item...it is hard to love easy to like.
I wish we even had a sneak peek on pinterest...anything just a taste of what is to come...we need some inside gossip or some snibbits of a liitle spring...don't you think? am I the only one drowning in January? Jenna come on send me a life boat with spring clothes on it..thanks fro listening JCS's. Anyone agree or disagree ?
