J.Crew Factory Exclusive Early Access: Shop new arrivals before everyone else

"Thanks!" to many of you, who shared the following news/email from J.Crew Factory with us.

J.Crew Factory is offering a sneak peek at the latest arrivals with prices up to 30% off! They are also throwing in free shipping (no min!). Both these offers are just for today! So check your email to see if you got the invite and code.

It's clear Springtime is in the air over at J.Crew! Lots of flowy short-sleeve tops, shorts, and breezy dresses. It's soooo cold where I live (we had a major snowstorm yesterday and we are experiencing single digit temperatures), that it is hard to imagine wearing any of these beautiful things. ;)

Have you received this email? Will you be taking advantage of this promotion? Any items you are interested in? If so, please share!

  1. It's warm here in the daytime, at the moment. I'm not thinking about spring clothes just yet, though.

Ina reviewed the necklace and some other things in this post.

    1. Question for Ina (thanks for the reviews!) - as you may remember, I was interested in the tipped boy shirt. Was it on clearance at the outlet? I just called mine and they have it on hold for me, but their systems were down and so they weren't able to verify the price for me, but the SA said it was marked as $78 with 30% off (only :( )..... was yours in the clearance area? thanks for the info!

    5. hi Ina! I just called my outlet back and she was able to check the price, I think she had said $15.98 before taxes? Maybe you can call your store and if so, go get a price adjustment? Thanks for the heads up, I am so excited to get this shirt!! :)

    6. I, too, called my local outlet and sure enough, they had the retail shirt and had no idea it was on clearance. $39.97 with 60% off....it's on it's way for appx. $22. Thanks for the tip, Ina and snowbrdgrl!!

  3. I'm getting the "A great image is on its way..." message for like half the items on the new arrivals page. Anyone else?

From what I did see though, the only thing that caught my eye was the Chambray dot baseball cap. Super cute. With fresh snow on the ground outside (and a snow day from school) the last thing on my mind is spring clothing!

    1. I'm also getting the same message. Two other items (the Draped Scarf Print Tunic and Paisley Tunic) have a super tiny square box as their pictures, just showing a small glimpse of the fabric. Two items I would like to see and may possibly purchase. Rahh Rahh J Crew. So subpar some days. If it isn't ready to be launched, don't launch it yet. Seeing as it's the final week of the fiscal year for them, I'm shocked it wasn't ready, or at least not working correctly for so many people.

  5. I am so annoyed by this. I ordered the adorable pear Charley sweater (100% cotton, woo hoo!) but I'd like to be able to at least look at some of the other offerings without the "image coming soon!" nonsense! FYI they've also added additional colors to the Clare cardigan, some of the tees, stretch "perfect" shirts as well with this rollout.

  6. I was able to place an order with free shipping without using a free shipping code. Not sure how that happened but I like it.

  7. By the way - has anyone tried the Factory Frankie chino? There are a few new colors out today I like but we don't have a Factory store near where I am so I am unsure of the fit. I'm a standard 8 in the Skimmer/Cafe Capri & the Minnie/Winnie. I haven't ever tried the Andie which I assume is the retail version of the Frankie? Thanks in advance!

  8. I'm kind of feeling shopped out at the Retail side, so I appreciate the new arrivals at the Factory store - except I feel like too many of the pieces are rehashes of the same Retail pieces that were out just a few months ago. Didn't they used to have a longer delay between releasing a Factory version of a Retail item?

    1. I was thinking the same thing! Scalloped dress is still popping in and out of the retail sale section and I just picked up a bar striped tee last week. It is soon going to seem ridiculous to buy retail if you can get the same thing 90 days later for less.

    2. I don't mind and actually like that Factory recycles prior season patterns and styles but I do think it's a bit crazy when the retail version is still available AND at a lower price than Factory. An example is the retail knit sweatshirt dress which I think with sale price and % off is around $40 to $50 and I saw the Factory version a few weekends ago for a much higher price point and lower quality.

  9. Does anyone have a fit review for the Factory Keating Blazer? I'm interested in getting the caramel color but I've never tried the blazer on before and would like to know about the fit/quality (I'm usually a 0 in J. Crew). TIA!!

    1. Hi Grace!

I'm usually a 00/0 in the retail Schoolboys (00 for a closer, snugger fit and a 0 to layer) and I tried on the Keating in a 0, which fit completely fine in the shoulders, arms, and length. That came as a total surprise since I usually find factory clothing to be cut large. From what I remember, however, it was a little large in the bust, but not a deal breaker.

    2. I take the same size in the Keating as the retail school boy

  10. Love the New arrivals! I bought the sketched pear sweater and the dot mini.

    1. I'm tempted by that dot mini (I really liked the retail version, but never got it for whatever reason).

Wondering if I should go for it with free shipping.

  11. Love the dot baseball hat too AppGal! And I was happy to see the Translucent Stone items, which I missed on retail. Bonus, I was able to snag a linen schoolboy for $35 in the clearance section.

  15. Thank you JCAs for the recommendation Martina aubergine wedge shoe hidden on the Factory website (clearance). I have been wanting to try the Martina, but could never pull the trigger since I am not near a store to try them on. At the low price of $33, I was ready to try! I got them today and love love love. Gorgeous deep raisin color and leather!

Here's my take on sizing on these: I am usually a 7-1/2 or 8. I always buy an 8 in JCrew. Martina size 8 fit me perfectly, no inserts necessary. To compare to other JCrew 8s: Cece 8s perfect fit too; Everly 8s need a heel and toe pad; Sloane 8s need a heel pad; Janeys 8s could size down to 7-1/2 but okay with full sole insert; Noras 8s need 7-1/2 in calf hair version; always 8s in boots.

    1. I am usually a 7.5 but 8 always works at JC

  16. I received the promotion e-mail as well.

My favourites are the Soleil Tee, the Peter Pan Collar Tee, the paisley bikinis (both colours) and the Floral Charm Necklace in tangerine.

  20. As many JCAs have confirmed, if you order the patent Sylvies, you will receive the retail. leather, Made In Italy Martinas, which I reviewed here.

    1. Also took a chance and ordered these last week. They arrived yesterday in a regular 'Crew shoe box but without the style/size label, however they are the retail Martinas. Not too fond of the toe cleavage but love the color and wedge heel. Thanks again JCA's for another item/size recommendation. :)

  21. I'm looking for the Swirl Dress in 00 but it's no longer available online ... does Factory do WWFIFY? No factory locations near enough for me to visit.

    1. Malvina, no WIFFY for Factory. Call a store w/the style #. They will tell you if any stores have it in stock. Then you'll have to call the store yourself. Hope you find it :)

    2. Thanks Gigi!! Apparently they don't carry the 00 in any stores, so I'll have to hope for a pop back online!
