Sneak Peek: What's to Come This Summer {& later this week!}
A big "thanks!" to Slastena (check out her "J Crew Summer Preview" post from her {amazing} About All and Nothing at All blog) who shared some more sneak peeks with us. {yey!} There is a little something for everyone in this batch of photos! Just click on any of the images to view them larger.
Word among the JCAs is that new arrivals are expected to hit brick & mortar (B&M) stores and online this week. Can't wait! :)

I like the look of the two dresses...I just wish they were a bit longer!
ReplyDeleteI agree with Lake Nokomis - for us taller girls, the dresses would be closer to tunics and best paired with leggings.
ReplyDeleteInordinately excited to see the new arrivals (as always)!
Heidi, I've read in several places that new arrivals will be out in stores on Tuesday. I saw a couple new things already out this weekend (the faded sailor tee and a micro-strip knit tank in black and white or neon orange and white).
ReplyDeleteOT, Can anyone suggest where I can find a pair of basic linen shorts; the ones I have come across are either too short or the fabric is not right. TIA!
ReplyDeleteYay can't wait! Just an FYI: the JCrew where I work was originally scheduled for rollout Mon. but it has recently been moved back to Wed! Hopefully the new pieces will hit the web on Monday?
ReplyDeleteThe striped black/white knit dress is $128, I was told.
ReplyDeleteI like the striped knit dress, but $128? Really? It's not even a maxi. Oh, well, it probably would be too shapeless for me anyway. I did see the faded striped tee and didn't like it. I love the striped tank - I bought the faded black but would have bought the neon coral (orange? - didn't look at the tag) if it had been available in my size. I sized down twice to an xs and all the small sizes were gone in the coral. I was told that the coral was selling well. I will hopefully get to see the new items this weekend. My ps said they would be on the floor on Tuesday.
ReplyDeletethe striped dress is 128!? shenanigans. i was thinking $68 at least... it looks so cute.
ReplyDeletethanks, ladies, for posting these preview pics.
Anybody have any info on the lace up wedges??
ReplyDeleteYes, I like the striped "dress", though as others have suggested I would wear it as a tunic with capri leggings.
ReplyDeleteThere are some new items online this week-end. Mostly Collection pieces with some sizes already sold out. Bummer!
ReplyDeleteThat first dress is really short. I've had to pass on a lot of dresses this past season cause they came up to my thighs. I'm only 5'5"...
ReplyDeleteI'm eager to see the summer collection once it's up online. :-)
Okha, I saw some cute basic linen shorts in JC this week. I think they are new and in-store only, as they were out with a few other in-store only pieces like the Canterbury bells mini. I believe they were $68. They were short, but not TOO short from what I recall. They were a light beige-ish color.
ReplyDeleteOkha -- J. Jill is awash in linen at the moment. Their linen is really nice, but their pant cuts are weird, and if you're really small, their sizes run large.
ReplyDeleteThey don't make short shorts, though. . . worth a try.
Okha - Did you try GAP? They had some linen last week. I did not try them on so cannot speak to length.

ReplyDeleteDina has several of the new items on her blog. I was able to try on a couple of them on Saturday at my B&M.
ReplyDeleteI really liked Castillo eyelet cami but not the price. I will wait for sale on this. It run big and I needed to size down and it is sheer but still I liked it a lot. Few days ago I tried the Knotted Starfish dress and while it was cute it was wrong for my body type. I am bigger on top than on the bottom and I think it will work better if you are pear shaped. It is rather short though. They also had another pencil skirt (21" I think) with a nubby texture in natural & sand like colors. I really liked it and I will eventually get it, hopefully on sale.
OT- Is the student discount still applicable on the In Good Company items? I bought a Mister Freedom shirt from j Crew about a month ago and they gave me the discount, now I got some jeans from Levi's and they said they could not give me the discount. Any body else having this issue?
ReplyDeleteAlan, I have not been able to use my educator discount on collaboration ("in good company") products in months :(
ReplyDelete@ A- I am waiting for new linen shorts to hit the JCrew website, will then have a chance to try them. Thanks :)
ReplyDelete@Fidele- Thanks for the J.Jill lead. Will surely try them out.
@Emily- I did try gap.. but they did not work out for me. I was looking for something like the shorts on the Calypso-St.Barth website , but they are way too expensive for me.. $ 165 for a pair of linen shorts? I did not understand that.

ReplyDeleteI know that the new arrivals will be in my store Tuesday. Don't count on everything being out until Wednesday.
ReplyDeleteI like the first dress a lot. Does anyone have the item # for it?
ReplyDeleteIn case someone is reading this, I saw the striped dress this morning (my store had the whole new collection out) and it's silk, not a knit, that's the reason why it retails for $128. It's definitively a dress and not a tunic.
ReplyDeleteStriped dress is available NOW!
