I am a big fan of Land's End new line Canvas (click
here to shop online). It reminds me of J.Crew's classic pieces from just a few years ago, with reasonable prices. So naturally I was excited to hear the following news...
A big "
thanks!" to
J who shared some pictures of the upcoming Canvas Fall/Winter 2010 Line from the Fashion Preview that took place this past Wednesday in NYC. Click on any of the images to view larger.
Not only are the images fantastic, but so is
J's story about how she got them. She was selected to be a part of LE Canvas' focus group and has been a part of it for sometime now. Recently, she (along with the other members of the group) were asked to travel to NYC (all paid trip too!) to attend Canvas' Fashion Preview. The 3-day event included a meet & greet with the designers and President.
A-m-a-z-i-n-g!I am loving the looks that I am seeing from this Fashion Preview. I am also loving the story behind these pictures! "
Thanks!" again to
J who shared it all with us.
What are your thoughts on the upcoming styles slated for Canvas' Fall/ Winter 2010 line? Are you a fan of Canvas?
Just found a free shipping code for J. Crew orders over $150 but not sure when it expires ... CRW86V
ReplyDeleteThere are some new items added to the sale section too ;)
thanks, it just worked for me!
ReplyDeleteOoh, excited to see the LE poplin shirts!!
ReplyDeleteI really like the looks here as I am a HUGE LE and Canvas fan! Thanks for the preview. Very excited to see fall items EVENTUALLY but right now so excited about warm weather. I am a summer clothes gall all the way!
ReplyDeleteLove the Canvas line and have even broke out and purchased some reg LE pieces (though sizing is a little more generous there). However,I agree with Genny and will just stick to summery items for now.
ReplyDeleteI am a fan of lec, and expect to purchase more in the fall! I am very happy with the items I have bought.
ReplyDeleteI recently bought one item from Lands End Canvas. I was not only pleased with the item, but with the great customer service. Someone called to see how I liked it! I see a lot of items in those pictures that I would like. There are even things I could wear to work.
ReplyDeleteI love LEC so much. I have reviewed several items on my blog as well and really love the "classic" feel that they offer. I recently purchased the Route 63 snap tote and the boat neck shell in white with the discount. Thank you for the preview!
ReplyDeleteWow I'm really loving the button downs! I haven't shopped at Land's End in awhile but looking forawrd to checking it out soon :)
ReplyDeleteI've bought several pieces from LEC and love them! The Mac Peacoat in light khaki is absolutely adorable :)
ReplyDeleteJ Crew could really learn a thing or TEN from the LE Canvas marketing team. Seriously.
ReplyDeleteOK, now I will go back and look at the pics. Hehehehehe.
I've got a couple of the canvas button down oxfords and they really are well and well cut. The polos from Canvas didn't work for me; I'll stick to Crew, Lacoste and Ralph for polos, they do a much better job there.
ReplyDeleteI think I'll try out some Canvas pants and possibly a sweater and see how they do with those items.
I bought the LEC gingham button down shirt in two colors. It fits TTS and the material is so soft. I am excited to see these new poplin shirts! I'm a fan. Thanks for the preview!
ReplyDelete@tiffany rose - thank you so much for the free shipping coupon! Just ordered the Flutter-flower clutch in sheer lilac, Watercolor garden shell and Sequined starland tank in gold peach, which are new additions to the sale!
ReplyDeletepsa: LE has a $10 of $50/$25 off $100/$50 off $200 promo going on now on the website home page. If you're on their mailing list, the promo includes free shipping with the code in the e-mail.
ReplyDeleteI've been loving the LE Canvas line so far, esp. since it can be returned to Sears! The success of J. Crew has really spurred some other companies, (Land's End, LL Bean, Talbots, etc.) to revamp their lines. We are the winners. Thanks for the photos.
ReplyDeleteAlso wanted to mention that prices on many tees in the sale section have been reduced by $5 or so.
ReplyDeleteThat is, the sale section on jcrew.com :-).
ReplyDeleteOooh, I'm loving the items in this preview! I've been struggling with the J Crew perfect shirts and these button-downs from LEC look promising! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteSince this is an off J. Crew topic, I thought I would add my finds at Talbots. Their online outlet is an extra 50% (prices reflect this). After scouring coupon code sites, I also found a code for an extra 20% plus $5 shipping. I just spend a total of $174.36 for 6 sweaters (all carigans), two necklaces, and two silk scarves. Great deals to be had.
ReplyDeleteOT (for this post): My online PS says some new arrivals will be on the website tomorrow. :)
ReplyDeleteThis is O(ff)T of this post but O(n)T of this blog - as Elaine has mentioned, the sale section on the website has updated and I was happy to see the Linen Charter skirt on sale! I called the store here to check their stock and was able to get a 4 and 6 put on hold for me. The SA also mentioned that it's $49.99; that's almost $10 cheaper than online...that made my morning ;).
ReplyDeleteBack O(n)T - I really like the look of the pink/peach-ish skirt in the first picture, can't wait to see it on LE's website.
OT - in case anyone is interested, since there was a previous post few weeks ago about J.Crew sneakers. There's a Tretorn sneakers clearance sale on Ruelala going on. Most items are around $30 - lots of selection. HTH
ReplyDeleteLeader Girl,
ReplyDeleteCan I get the code for Talbots as well?
Thanks!
Yes, please post the Talbots code please!!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE this line. Great deals and love their return policy. Cheaper alternative to jcrew. I wouldn't have noticed it without help from this blog!
ReplyDeleteFound a Talbots code:
ReplyDelete019091678
extra 20% off and $5 shipping
enjoy!
Sorry, I meant to post the code on my original comment. It should be for your entire purchase, not just clearance (although I only had clearance items in my cart). The code is 019091678. The description of the code is "May Prospecting."
ReplyDeleteI love LE Canvas! Any LEC coupon codes floating around these days? And do regular LE coupons work at LEC?
ReplyDeleteI just got a code today in a catalog that was for free shipping (no min) and a free Canvas tote with any order.
ReplyDeleteCode: MODERN Pin: 9281
This code says it's good until May 31.
I already have the tote they are giving away, and it is super good quality! Very thick and sturdy canvas.
Thanks Pakcola & Leader Girl!!
ReplyDeleteYes, I just rediscovered Talbots and have bought LOTS of scarves over the past 6 months from the clearance and outlet sections online! I have quite a collection going:)

ReplyDeleteMy DH really likes his LEC poplin shirts...the cut is very flattering -- similar to the JC Tailored fit for men. And I bought a very pretty crewneck tee recently just for the LEC tote promo...I'm weak, I'll admit it.
ReplyDeleteOT: I never get a chance to venture out to the Crewlet by me, but they have the men's graphic tees for $15. I bought a few for DH, since they are so comfy and come in nice muted colors. Also, the crewlet has a version of the Grande Wallpaper Mini that Gigi reviewed last summer. This one is comprised of smaller print graphics, so the fact that the seams aren't perfect aren't noticeable. $5 off price, so it's still $49.50 -- not a great bargain but for anyone who missed the wallpaper last summer...Men's tailored fit washed button downs were 40% off as well. Also, I didn't know that Spring Rewards can be used at the outlet? Anyway, they honored my card, which was nice...brought my total down by 50%! :)
Looking at these sneak peek photos you could tell me it is vintage J.Crew and I'd believe it without question.
ReplyDeletePart of the charm of preppy is that it can span seasons and even years. Maybe not as a total look, but chinos, button-downs, polos, basic cardigans and the like can be paired with all kinds of trends because they are so classic and undemanding. J.Crew still has some prep but have stated they want to move in a new direction. So nice to see other retailers filling the need because it is obviously there.
Loving the LEC items I bought recently and will be looking for more. Thanks for sharing the preview.
I would like to be able to love LE Canvas, but the line runs huge--at least 2 sizes larger than J Crew on me. I am pretty much sized out. :(
ReplyDeleteNot my auction, but I thought someone might be interested...there is a sparkle tweed pencil skirt on ebay right now for a BIN price of $28...not bad for such a beautiful skirt!

^^ skirt is size 4, btw ^^
ReplyDeleteWell, you fabulous JCAs finally convinced me -- I just placed my first-ever Lands End Canvas order! (Thanks for the free ship code, Egyptomaniac!)
ReplyDeleteGot the Sleeveless Poplin Shift dress - hope it's as cute in person as it is online!
Have been an LE fan for YEARS:) Also love the new canvas line. I fine the fit to be great for me. No problems. But then againg I cannot stand tight or very form fitting clothes. I wear a size 8 in both JCrew and LE/LE Canvas. So happy to see all these great new fall items. It really fills the void I feel that is lacking in JCrew right now....I am not a fan of their new direction but I manage to still find three or four pieces each season instead of my usual 10-12! LE has been getting a lot of my shopping $ lately.
ReplyDeleteCan anyone help. Does the watercolor garden cami item 23843 have a side or back zip. Online it shows a back zip but Gigi reviewed it on her website and it had a side zip (which I find annoying). Anyone own this and can tell me please. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteSummer, it is a back zip.
ReplyDeleteVery excited about the fall Canvas line. Fall and winter are my favorite fashion seasons, and LE Canvas has so much potential. We've been very happy with everything we've ordered thus far (men's and women's).
ReplyDeleteI've been eyeing the heritage trench for forever! Anyone think there's a chance it'll go on sale or should I take the $50 promo?
ReplyDeleteCANVAS does nothing for me. It is so dull compared to jcrew. It reminds me of Martin and Osa which is not doing well. I once wanted to buy a cashmere sweater but they didn't even offer it in XS which is ridiculous. Landsend offers good discounts for tees and they are cuter in kids sizes but I wouldn't be caught dead in their pants or pretty much anything else.k
ReplyDeleteJane,
ReplyDeleteYou might want to revist LE or Canvas at a later date. I truly don't feel the clothes are that bad:) I mean I am caught "dead" in them almost daily now....I really like many of their camisoles, sweaters, and scarves. I wore their pants for many years as well. Always get lots of nice compliments. Many of their clothes are like the JCrew of old/preppy/classic:)
