J.Crew Factory Email: No better way to celebrate Labor Day

"Thanks!" to Jaden & AnneG, who shared the following latest email from J.Crew Factory. The email announces that select new Fall arrivals are now up to 40% off at their Factory Stores.

Are you planning to visit a Factory Store to check out the latest Fall collection? Are there any items you are hoping to purchase while there? If so, please share! :)

  1. Maybe in a couple of weeks...I was hoping for a factory coupon soon. I was at the Jeffersonville one earlier this month and saw all the yummy fall cords- pants, blazers, skirts...I ended up with a clearance cardi and a men's denim shirt that was SIGNIFICANTLY cheaper than the women's one online.

I also enjoy going to the outlet because there's a kettle korn vendor. Mmm...

  2. I was just there yesterday and posted this information on a couple other threads yesterday afternoon: the factory stores now have the Jackie Cardigan in Honey Glaze if anyone is looking specifically for that color. They are $44.50 with an additional 20% off at the Premium Outlets in Orlando, Florida.

  3. FFM: THANKS for the info on the honey glaze! That is my favorite color from last fall and I actually regret not getting a cardi in that color :)

I hope this discount lasts up until Labor Day weekend. I will probably check out the outlets that weekend with my mom.

  4. Nicole: LOL! You got me hungry for kettle corn right now. ;)

FFM: Thank you so much for letting us know about the Jackie Cardigan and the additional percent off! Those cardigans are such great staples to own. :)

LifeStyleBohemia: I hope you find some amazing items if you stop by a Factory store! :)

AppGal: I agree about the honey glaze color- a super gorgeous shade. :)

  5. Hey FFM - did the outlet have the items in the pics with their emails like the Andrea jacket and the lucille jacket from last season? I'd love an Andrea jacket in rhubarb.

  6. I was at the outlet a few weeks ago and they had the Andrea Jacket in rhubarb and honey glaze colors. I didn't see the Lucille. I called the outlet yesterday to verify when this sale started, and the SA seemed "crewless"-so she put me on hold and came back and said it was next weekend. I asked what day and again she put me on hold and came back and said she didn't know! And that I would get another email updating me. I was like, "another email?? In addition to the one I received today?" If anyone goes this weekend can they please post and say if the sales have started. I just have to drive 40 minutes to find out nothing is on supersale. I was confused why this email went out THIS Thursday if the sale was for next weekend. Oh well. That's why I love this blog! The JCA community keeps everyone well informed!

  7. I should add that the oulet I visited was in Pleasant Prairie, WI. My guess is stock is pretty similar when looking for FP/promo items (in ref. to the Andrea jacket).
    :)

  8. Thanks for the info Pamela. I am nowhere near an outlet so I'd have to call and have them ship one to me. Any thoughts on the sizing compared to last years model? I wonder if they are leftovers or are a remake.
    Thanks so much!!

  9. Hi JCrewBug! Yes, the Factory had the Andrea jacket in both Rhubarb and Honey Glaze, the Lucille in Black, the Berry Trim Astrid in Plum and Charcoal, several Ecole Jackets, a jacket similar to the Bella, as well as the Boyfriend Blazer. I personally don't feel the quality was worth the prices they were charging though. The Berry Trim Astrids were $178...there may have been a little extra off of that, too, but I'm not 100% sure. Since I own 2 of the Berry Astrids, the Lucille, Ecole, and have owned a Bella (all from retail) I can say that the Factory versions are not the same quality. If the prices were lower they would be more worth it, but at the current prices I don't think they are. If the extra % off brings the cost down significantly then they might be worth considering. Yesterday they had the extra % off signs all over the store. I don't recall seeing any 40% off, but I had my 3 youngest boys with me, so I was trying to hurry and could have easily missed them.

  10. JCrewBug: They aren't last years leftovers. They are definitely Factory versions made specifically for the outlets. I didn't try on any of the jackets, but sized down in the Jackie cardigan because I think it runs large. The XSmall factory Jackie fits me the same as the Small retail Jackie.

  11. They also had the Victoria cami in many different colors, as well as in the Watercolor Garden print of the Lydia blouse from last year. They have the long sleeve Victoria ruffle shirt in blue and grey/light black, as well as some Factory versions of what appeared to be the current Fall retail offerings, such as the Boyfriend jacket.

  12. AppGal and Alexis: You are welcome! I know many of us love the Honey Glaze color, so I wanted to make sure anyone who is looking for it knows it's at the Factory. There are also other sweaters, tees, and a scarf in the Honey Glaze color, as well. I also think that the price and quality of the Factory jacket is decent...I picked up the Honey Glaze for myself yesterday. :)

  13. Hey FFM! Thanks! Too bad about the prices :(

Did the Lucille in black look nice? I remember everyone commenting how they wish it came in more subtle colors when it came out last year.

I've been searching ebay with no luck for an Andrea jacket. Maybe once the outlet one goes on sale I'll scoop it up.

Will you be purchasing a schoolboy blazer this year? I just can't see wearing something like that too much, although I love the look.

  14. JCrewBug: The Factory Lucille is sort of *rough* feeling...not nearly as soft as the retail Lucille and the price was high...around $178 I think. The next time I'm in the Factory store I'll try on the Andrea Jacket for you, and make sure to find out the current price with any discount, too.

I actually got the Boyfriend jacket from Gap with the F&F 30% off event and really like it. I bought both the Navy and the brown Herringbone. You should try them on the next time you visit Gap. :)

  15. Gosh I can't believe those prices! Thanks FFM! I'll look for the schoolboy when I'm at the Gap next. Looks like its soldout online!

  16. I have a bad memory, is the Lucille jacket the one pictured in the email? If so, I absolutely loved that piece last year. I hope they have it in the orange color.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Miss Pants: Yes, the Lucille is the one in the picture. The Factory store in Orlando only had the black Lucille. The Orange one pops back up in Final Sale on the website every once and awhile for $99.

  18. Love the bag in the photo, is that available at the factory store?

    ReplyDelete
  19. Anony: The only bags I recall seeing are canvas totes. They actually had a smaller one in the Batik Turtle print in the sale section.

  20. The bag in the picture is the Frankie Bag in Guava. I've seen them listed on Ebay before, so you might check there if you're looking for one. :)

  21. To add to FabulousFloridaMommy's post(s), in August I called two JC outlets in CA looking for cargo shorts (I know, crazy right? Looking for shorts in August?) and one of the managers confirmed for me that in her years of working at the JC outlet, only one time did they have cargo shorts that were the exact same items as were sold in stores. They came without notice and in limited sizes and quantities. They also flew off the shelves..

Further, she said that probably 90% of the merchandise is made specifically for the JC outlet, I'm guessing similar to BR's outlet strategy.

In summary, she told me that if I love an item in-store, it's best to buy in-store and look at the outlet as another retailer; a completely separate being from JC stores, just with similar styles.

  22. thanks FFM for all the outlet info! I missed out on the Lucille so I'm thinking of checking it out at the outlets but I agree that the quality of their items are not as good.

  24. Hoping to go to Woodbury Commons this week....school starts! :)

  25. Just got back from my nearby factory store. They were NOT having the additional 40% off sale this weekend. They had some promos going on, but nothing major. I was able to see the honey glaze jackies and some pieces with the watercolor print, but walked out of there with nothing. I almost got the HG jackie but just couldn't justify it...it looked and felt SO CHEAP!!! perhaps if they still have some next weekend with the 40% off, I'll consider it...

  26. Just to defend the SA who didn't know when the sale was- I used to work in the retail store and we'd go over the sales and promos every morning. Our manager told us that we (the store) find out about the clearance percentage, sale duration, etc. each morning from corporate. Many times customers would ask how long the 20% clearance would last, or if clearance would still be final sale only next week, etc. and we really did not know.

For what it's worth. Maybe our manager was just saying that - but I am not so sure that the stores find out a lot of information in advance. It's in the store's best interest to have you come in and buy today instead of leaving the store and plan to return at a later date.

  27. I don't think it's an additional 40% off next weekend. I think the promotion is up to 40% off. I'll be at the Woodbury outlet on Saturday to stock up for the fall.

  28. just got back from woodbury. they weren't having a huge sale. they had the lucille jacket but in black only and none of the SAs or manager knew whether or not they'd get it in any other color. they did say they have gotten a few phone calls about it though. hope this helps!

  29. I just posted a review of my trip to Woodbury Commons this weekend in the "Will You Visit J.Crew This Weekend?" thread and realized it would've been more appropriate here. It was quite long so I'm hesitant to repost... I'll just say their pricing was awful and I was not impressed. I will be annoyed if other JCAs report that they are running additional sales for Labor Day weekend because the only reason I didn't wait was because of the email last week saying the sale had begun.

Hey, at least the cashier who rang me up didn't bother de-sensoring my items so I got the privilege of setting off every store alarm for the next hour! (Thankfully, five stores later, a nice salesgirl at Prada ran my bag over their machine so I didn't have to walk all the way back to J.Crew.)

Anyway, if you want to read the rest of my admittedly annoyed review you know where to look :)

  30. tres tippy and dara,
So there was nothing good? I'm waffling about going. I just (Mon pm) called and asked about the email and a mgr said there were a lot of good promotions and they would keep adding things up until this weekend. I didn't want to drive an hour for nothing. He said, "oh, you definitely wouldn't" but that the promos would get better and better as the week goes on. Anything in particular you'd like me to look for? Probably going R or F

    ReplyDelete
  31. Mommydearest, they actually had some very cute stuff, but their pricing was just AWFUL. I'm debating taking another drive up there on Sunday to see if maybe I can get a 7-day price adjustment once things are on further discount... I think I will wait and see what other JCAs are reporting as the weekend arrives. I have to imagine they will bring down prices based on how good the sales were when I visited during July 4th weekend...

  32. Hi everyone,
I was wondering if any NorCal residents could tell me about the Napa Outlet store. How's the selection?
I've been to the one in Vacaville, and while I've sometimes been able to get some good bargains, the selection is VERY small. The entire store is about the size of a regular JCrew men's department. So I'm considering making the drive to Napa (from Sacramento).

    Thanks!

  33. Hi! I love this blog by the way. I was searching for the Andrea jacket in Honey and found this site. I just bought one today at a factory store In Lancaster, PA. It was $99 plus 20% off. Anyway, I really like it, but was wondering if anyone can tell me what the differences are between the outlet version versus the "real deal". The only thing I could is that the outlet one seems more wool-y compared to the pics I saw online. And the lining is cream, not sure what the other is. thoughts? thanks so much!
