J.Crew Email: Last day. 20% off all women's shoes & boots + FREE SHIPPING. Online only.

"Thanks!" to Marietta who shared the following news & email J.Crew sent today.

J.Crew is reminding us about their shoe sale, with 20% off select Women's shoes and boots (click here to shop online). This offer is available only online and expires today, 11/23/09, at midnight.

I did end up taking advantage of this offer and got another pair of ballet flats (no surprise here, I love me some flats!) ;)

Moreover, J.Crew is offering free shipping on purchases of $150+ with promo code HARVEST. As mentioned in yesterday's post (click here), Kater (in this post) observed that J.Crew has changed the terms of this offer mid-way through the promotion.

Originally, this free shipping offer was to run until 11/30/09 (refer to here). Except, this email & the one sent on Friday (click here to view) state this offer expires today, 11/23/09. Huh? Hopefully, J.Crew will honor the original offer with the end date of 11/30/09.

Are you planning to take advantage of the shoe promotion before it expires? What are your thoughts on the HARVEST promo? Will it end today or on the 30th? :)

  1. I was ready to buy the Nottingham boots yesterday but I noticed they have a full zip, rather than a 1/2 zip. Cadogan's also have a full zip and only the Templeton have a 1/2 zip. Unfortunately I don't find the Templetons very appealing, the leather looks very stiff and not soft at all. I guess I saved myself a couple hundred + with the exchange rate and duty.

    Waiting for the next promo...

  2. OT But still shoes, has anyone seen the thicker strapped sandals now showing in various JC online pics - like the opaque tights and the bungalow skirt - in store? Looking for a pair of non-pumps/ boots I can wear with tights and wondering if these might by B&M only...THANKS.

  3. Has anyone ordered the bouquet sash belt? Mine came pretty squashed. Looks nothing like the online pic.

  4. I am also waiting for the next promo... had ordered a lot of stuff throughout november... nothing left for me to pay the current price for. I hope for more markdowns.

  5. Genny - I had ordered the ivory colored sash belt. It didn't come squashed because they had it wrapped in such a way that it couldn't get damaged during shipping. However, I agree that in person it is not appealing. Just seems so...fake? I know know, they're fake flowers but I thought it really looked like a fake (not even silk) flower attached to a cheap ribbon.

    Returned it....

  6. Ek: I too bought the bouquet sash belt, and it was pretty sad looking even though it was packaged nicely. I do have a steamer at home, and it fluffed up the flowers and looked so nice afterwards :) so I think it just needs a good steaming. HTH!!

  8. GetFresh: Those shoes are very cute w/ the bungalow skirt... they don't like very "j.crew" to me though! I haven't seen them in any B&Ms , catalog or online.. hopefully soon! They are cuuuuute!

  9. Anyone have the Veronique heels? I ordered them in gold.. not sure if I "need" them or not.. just bought the Joley's in pale gold but it looks more like a tan and not as dressy as the Veronique. I guess we'll see when they come!

  10. lilaccupcake, I'll have to check GH out, I always liked the actress that plays Lulu. I watched it online this weekend to ogle James Franco and I fear I'm going to be sucked right the heck back in...

  11. I had my first experience with the "holey tees" everyone has been talking about. Ordered a bunch of knits with the 20% off and two of them arrived with holes in them. So disappointed in you, J.Crew!

  12. most tissue tees get holes with one wearing!

  13. Thanks DinDin and MoMoBerry,
I don't have a steamer but my iron steams pretty good when held upright. May try it but did it melt the one "prickly" flower at all. It seems to be made out of something plastic looking...

  14. JCrewCC, I have several of the tissue boyfriend tees that have gotten a lot of wearing and washing, with no holes. I don't get it!!!

  15. JCrewCC, thanks for the B&M update from Canada. Hoping those sandals do show up eventually as they are shown in several current online outfit pics. I did actually order the Veroniques, but not in gold. Platform helped, TTS for JC heels, graceful shape. But they were a bit tight across the vamp (would probably stretch with few wears.) Where the strap hit was good. But I didn't like how the edge of the peep toe fit, rubbed when walking around my flat, so they were a return at FP for me... HTH.

  16. Cortney_joy, were the holey tees from the clearance section? Do you think maybe someone damaged them and returned them? Or does JC have moths in their warehouse? Or does it look like a manufacturing defect? I always hear these stories and it makes me very nervous, but so far I've been lucky. My JC tees seem to last forever, including the tissue tees. None have holes and some of them are several years old.

  17. I used the SHIP125 early this morning (PST) and it still works! Hopefully it'll last until the 30th. I'm sure they'll still honor the original exp. date if you call in, but it is annoying when they switch dates like that.

OT, I ordered the small Andi bag in chalkboard. Does anyone have this bag? Comments on quality/style? TIA!

  18. Jeanne, they were not on sale and arrived looking brand new like they had never been tried on. Disappointing..,

  19. I want to figure out what to wear to Thanksgiving. My husbands family is rich and he is not, though he makes up for it by being the one with the noble job. I don't want to appear like the poor relation, but I don't want to try too hard either. They will not be in jeans but won't be dressed up either. Any suggestions on a good Jcrew outfit with maybe a cashmere sweater and a skirt or pants? I welcome suggestions.

  20. Does anyone know when december stuff comes out? I'm so underwhelmed with last month's rollout. I need a solid fix of inspiring clothes with fewer ruffles, more comfortable heels, more streamlined t-shirt, with LONG SLEEVES PLEASE, it's end of november on the east coast. We can't be buying tissue t-shirts at the cold date. We need girlie flannel, easy, sexy sweaters, t-shirts in quality fabrics that don't pump up the "Sweetness" and "Funky" quotients. Can you please streamline the looks a little old JC buddies? I want to spend but I need to feel I HAVE TO HAVE IT and nothing screams "take me" when I see it. I'm seriously in the mood to buy, but what?

  21. Cortney_joy, that is so odd about the holey tees. Don't they have inspectors to catch that kind of problem?

Bews4, have you tried the long sleeve perfect fit tees? JCrew makes them in a heavier weight cotton now, but they're still fitted. I have several and I absolutely love them.

And, yes, I bought something from the boot and shoe sale. I ordered the short chalet shearling boots after seeing them pictured on A Bigger Closet blog with the Trivoli cardigan (which I also own and love). I ordered both desert brown and graphite, because I couldn't decide on a color and hoped to have the chance to see them side by side. Unfortunately, the graphite is on back order so that plan didn't work out so well.

The desert brown boots arrived yesterday and I love them! They're really soft and comfortable and, being a short boot, there's no issue with fitting them over my problem calves. I know it's crazy, but I may end up keeping both colors (assuming the graphite ever ships).

  22. Jeanne: There is nothing odd about the holey tees, I have experienced this as well with the new arrivals, along with other JCA's. It is sad but true the quality sucks at J Crew at the moment, and the consumer is the inspector. I have better tees from ON than JC.

  23. Jeanne thanks for the feedback on the Tivoli cardigan, I've seen nothing on it.
