Sought & Found: Did you visit J.Crew this {past} Weekend?

This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)

If you are stopped by a J.Crew store this past weekend to see what's available (if anything!) in the SALE, or to see some NEW ARRIVALS {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!

Also, please let us know if your local store was/ is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)

  2. No JC for me, but I did score Madewell's Curator Coat from HO2013 on popback. Love the clean lines and slightly vintage vibe!

  3. Regarding the next rollout: Gina mentioned that there would be one starting tomorrow at the Garden State Plaza store, and that the online rollout would be later in the month. That certainly fits the normal pattern.

But I would be surprised if JC can afford to wait that long. The past two rollouts have been tiny. They have to do something to keep their customers interested and to keep the cash flowing. Usually I buy a lot this time of year with the low prices. But I missed the spectacular pop-backs on January 2 since I was staying in a rural farmhouse with spotty internet and aside from that day I haven't seen anything that tempted me.

Maybe if they offered some new arrivals, customers might take another peek at the painful sale section. Part of me is a little worried about the spring merchandise though - style.com had some previews that were very oversized and floppy. Sigh.

    1. I was hoping there would be new stuff added to the sale section this AM...disappointing. I hope they add before this 40% promo ends on the 7th.

Might be worth checking out Maison KMV's blog tomorrow or Wednesday, to see if she posted pictures of the new roll-out...

  5. I know they have inventory coming up so they are trying to keep the inventory low. My store looks very neat and organized but nothing I want to buy either sale or full price. I usually get a lot of things this time of year as well on sale but there is just nothing to be had. I have bought a lot of stuff this year but it has been primarily at the warehouse clearance store at super low prices. There are many things I would not purchase if they were $1.00, as they would take up valuable space in my closet. I did recieve the leopard calf hair oxfords today and they are very nice quality.

  6. OT: Check your mailbox in the coming weeks. I just saw my J.Crew statement. A rewards card was issued to me on 1/2/15.

  7. I know this is OT but just received my second item from Everlane…the Chunky Knit cardigan and I am in love. So perfect. I also ordered the Cashmere tunic last month and it is on constant rotation. I ordered the cardigan in Medium however I could have easily gone with a small but I like the roomy fit. Defintly going to continue to look at Everlane for cashmere and sweaters where I once spent this money at J Crew.

    2. LizT, I will be curious to hear about your experience with the Chunky Knit. My sweater in that knit pilled terribly and I was really disappointed since I loved everything about it.

    3. I love the concept of the company. And I very happy that the company is based in SF! Same day shipping. :)

I've been eyeing that cardigan, since the one from J.Crew is sold-out. I'm afraid size xs will look too big on me (I am 5'0, with 36B chest). But I like the oversize loo, too.

I am interested in buying the loafers in blue. Wondering what colors they'll offer in patent leather.

Also, saw these grey culottes a model wore in the loafers stock photo-I want those for spring!! I wonder if its something they'll be selling. And I know they'll be selling pants starting in March.

    4. JRSConifer, I did read your review after I purchased so I hope mine is OK. I will review again once I have had a chance to wear. The cashmere tunic has worn well. I have been wearing it many times with leggings over the Christmas break.

    5. JSR, I took a XS in the sweater and it fit fine. I am 5'1'' and 34C for reference. And I agree, their cashmere is wonderful, not a pill after a day of wear.
