JCA "Help Style Me!" Weekly Post

This is the weekly "Help Style Me!" post, where we can share items we are having trouble putting outfits together with. Elaine (in this post) says it best, "You know, that thing you bought because you love it and you keep pulling it out and then putting it away without wearing it?"

Please share your J.Crew item (either that you own or are thinking about getting) that you would love help creating an outfit with.

    Happy New Year, JCA's!

    So are they just skipping the January catalog this year? I thought there would at least be a Pinterest board with January images by the end of December. Didn't see any out at my B&M the other day.

      Also no updates to the sale page ( usually everyday....almost) Is this the new

    I've noticed that too.
    I seem to recall way more winter items being added the sale page last year between Christmas and New Years. A few winter items I have had my eye on were excluded from the pre-christmas 30% and are still at full price today. I was waiting for this period to grab them, but no luck so far. I won't pay full price for winter season only items at this point in the season, and will not buy them at all if it takes much longer to go on a decent markdown. This is the time frame where I am still willing to buy for winter, but only if the sale is good enough. At a certain point, I decide to manage with my existing clothing and save my $ for spring. Hurry up JCrew!

    I am going from the Midwest to Mexico next week and am looking for a stylish but comfortable travel outfit. I am a short, 43-year-old mom, but I don't want to look matronly. :) I've seen several style bloggers wearing vintage Nike or Adidas kicks with skinny jeans and tees, and I've had my eye on J. Crew's Unisex Nike Vintage Collection Waffle Racers. Think these would look good with cropped skinny jeans, a tee, and a cardigan for the flight from Chicago to Cancun? Or would they just seem frumpy on a Midwestern mom who's not a famous style blogger? Thanks, aficionadas! :)

      Leah, I'm sure you will look fabulous and not frumpy! Also, I've seen several posts here on how comfortable the waffle racers are so they sound like a good choice for travel!

      Leah, as Lauren said, you'll be fine! I love my vintage New Balance and Nikes both from J.Crew - I've worn them with black Banana republic sloan pants (could also sub for J.Crew minnie/pixie pants), a t-shirt and denim jacket and it was very comfortable. I've also paired these sneakers with a striped jersey maxi skirt, t-shirt and denim jacket. Have a great trip!

      Leah,i just bought the Nike internationalist from the crew and they look so cute with crooped denim and a slouchy tee/sweater.

    Hey Leah! I'm seeing lots of stylish ladies travel in leggings/yoga pants/skinny jeans and awesome sneaks. I think it's a great look! I've recently enjoyed my cashmere hoodies as flight companions that are lightweight and versatile.

    Styling the patch-pocket cocoon coat on my blog today. It runs big. I could have almost sized down twice, but it's a great coat. I'm also styling the medallion statement necklace & earrings.
