This is the weekly "Help Style Me!" post, where we can share items we are having trouble putting outfits together with. Elaine (in this
post) says it best, "You know, that thing you
bought because you love it and you keep pulling it
out and then putting it away without wearing it?"
Please
share your J.Crew item (either that you own or
are thinking about getting) that you would love help
creating an outfit with.
Also,
please help out by offering your styling advice. Feel
free to include links to your blog (where you
incorporated that piece) or to Polyvore (where you
showcased an outfit with that piece). Thanks in advance!

New Promo -- 40% off "wear now" styles & 40% off continuing in the sale section.
ReplyDeleteHowever. Final Sale is back.
Three ways to wear the new Madewell boyshirt in buffalo check here.
ReplyDeletecurious as to what everyone's wearing to keep warm.
ReplyDeleteit's in the teens here in NJ and i'm layering, of course, but i'm feeling a bit uninspired: my uniform for the past week has basically been jeans (with leggings underneath), long sleeve shirt under cambridge turtleneck sweater, wool socks and hiking boots.
I've been dressing for the office...my go to has been a button down (cotton or flannel), cashmere sweater layered over top and a blazer or if I'm a little more casual an excursion vest. Paired with lined dress pants with tights underneath which you could swap for jeans. Wool socks and boots are a must!
DeleteI am wearing the alpine turtleneck layered with a keeper chambray shirt and some utility pants and my big navy nylon parka from last year. Still cold as whiz here, I think it is finally 10 degrees. That is cold for here. Doodle is wearing a pink polka sweater and a pink plaid coat. She looks like a stuffed sausage with all the layers.:)
DeleteJ Crew didn't bring back their thermal tops this year, did they? Those are always a warm first layer.
DeleteYea, no thermals this season. Lame, Jcrew.
DeleteHi cate - they did not, and the ones at Factory looked too short. I went to ON for mine this winter (see here).
DeleteToday I'm wearing the Lambswool Pointelle sweater in heather river over the long sleeve Painter tee in heather cornflower with light grey matchstick cords and the blue plaid scarf from Fall that has touches of mustard and burgundy. Long LL Bean puffer coat (old) to top it off.
DeleteI usually wear cords and a tissue - thin long sleeve tee under a turtleneck. Speaking of which, I just bought the chunky cashmere turtleneck with the promo and I really recommend for these polar temps! It is very, very cozy.
ReplyDeleteDo you find the turtleneck to run true to size? I found one in my sold out color in XS (I'm usually size S). Wondering if it will be too tight. Really want the sweater but seems to now be sold out in most sizes/colors.
DeleteAna, she posted a pic on Instagram today (crazyaboutjcrew) and said she sized down. Good luck!
DeleteThanks for the head's up Lauren - I'll check out Instagram :-)
DeleteLong skirts and warm tights! Granted I'm not much of a pants wearer, but I would hate to wear pants with tights or leggings- how uncomfortable! Plus once you get indoors you don't need all those layers. I have a good pair of legwarmers that go over the knee, and as long as my skirt is below the knee I'm totally toasty (and it was minus 39 Celsius yesterday with the wind, which I believe is the same in Fahrenheit!) I have a couple of Sterling skirts which work well! I'm too 'phat' for my pencil skirts right now, but I find a full skirt warmer anyway, for some reason.
