Sought & Found: Did you visit J.Crew this {past} Weekend?

This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)

If you are stopped by a J.Crew store this past weekend to see what's available (if anything!) in the SALE, or to see some NEW ARRIVALS {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!

Also, please let us know if your local store was/ is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)

  1. Got a pair of Silvia patent wedge heels from FActory at what seemed to be 60% off. May first pair of this style shoe. If I love them I may look at some Martina's at some point.
Factory did feel like jcrew last year but 100% polyester. I also picked up a tshirt and a striped cotton popover similar to something they had last year in retail but this one is in a colour I prefer.
I actually really life the style guide too. Re-pinned a few things that will be great for work etc. love the chinos too. Some fun Dorsay flats. I thought this was a return to more classic j crew and I like it. Remember style guides of the recent past with all grey colour choices and those adidas shower shoes? Things are getting better...not blow me away exciting, but I will be making some purchases for sure from this new roll-out. Several nice blouses too!

    1. Pardon my typos - insomnia tonight, but my writing skills are asleep!

    2. Banana Republic is doing January much better though! Selling out of some nice casual transition sweaters etc. Banana stores are packed with people and Jcrew retail and factory on what should be a busy saturday are more like museums after closing time.

  2. I went to the store to make a return. It was empty. Empty shelves. Sale section was tee shirts and some hideous metallic blue sweater-sweatshirt thing that I never even noticed before. Holiday style guide was out. It was sad in there. I got out pretty quick. I'll probably go back in the next week or two to see the new arrivals.

  3. This should wait until the review day, but I rec'd my harris tweed topcoats today and love them. When I bought them last week, they were not final sale, but they are now listed as final sale online. Still, at $240, down from $500, it is a good buy if the sizing is right for you. I nearly always wear a size 2 JC coat and I got this in a size 2 and it fits perfectly. As you can tell from the online photo, and from the online review, it is wide through the body. It's not a big deal to me, as I don't like my coats too fitted to provide for layering options, and it's a very unusual cut (maybe just to me, because while I have many coats, I don't have any top coats). Definitely recommend.

Another great buy was the collection daisy jacquard dress. It's navy with embroidered gold daisies and is stunning. It's super easy to wear, structured without being uncomfortable, and has pockets! Seems to be sold out now, but worth watching for pop backs. Some reviews say it runs large but I don't think it does. I took my normal JC size and it fits perfectly.

    1. Must add another quick comment about an item that I ordered over the weekend and arrived today. I have several of the shiny puffer vests and love them, so ordered the black shiny puffer jacket and immediately put it on and headed out the door. My first stop was the pet store and I though, wow, it REALLY smells like dog in here! But the smell followed me out, and stayed until I got home and then I recalled reading something on this blog about some of the JC down products smelling like wet dog! I never would have believed how exactly accurate that description is!!!!! Luckily, I love everything about dogs (although I have only cats, who smell nice, actually) and I don't even hate the wet dog smell, but I am definitely going to try throwing this thing in the dryer with dryel. Hope it works!!

    2. Update: if anyone else has had the wet dog problem, the dryel totally worked!
