First and foremost, this is an awesome promo. Almost everything gets an additional percent off and free shipping.

Second, I am kind of over J.Crew Factory. I do not have a B&M store close to me to see the quality first hand. So I take a chance when I order the one or two items via mail. The last item I ordered was a scarf which did not look like the online image at all and the quality... meh. I know Factory can be hit or miss, which is why checking out the item in person is so important.

Will you be taking advantage of this promotion at J.Crew Factory? What Factory item are you hoping to pick up? Please share!

  1. Any comments on quality or fit of Factory denim? I'm tempted by some of the skinnies, but have never tried JCF's and there's no b&m nearby. TIA!

    1. I size up on toothpick denim and cords at factory, which is the same thing I do at JC, too...HTHs

    2. The Factory denim is missing the stretch of the regular store denim. It's much stiffer. If you can deal with that, the cut/style is similar to the store version.

    3. Good to know. I remember skinny jeans from the '80s -- NO stretch whatsoever in those days!

    4. I don't have much experience with factory jeans but I bought a distressed pair in late summer that I absolutely love! I got them for around $22 and I seriously wear them almost daily. The fabric content is 98% cotton and 2% spandex. I personally like the "stiffer" feel. A lot of the retail ones this year seem more like jeggings and less like jeans.

  2. Picked up a few button-down shirts for my boys around $10 each free ship great deal. Pass for me, never happy with quality of Factory.

  3. The price changes are so annoying! Both items I've been looking at conveniently went up about 30% overnight. Sadly I will probably still bite so I can take advantage of the free shipping.

    1. Wondering what size in the turtleneck, how does it feel - ie, will it stretch out with a few wearings! Thanks!

    2. The turtleneck is an XS which is a size down for me. It's soft and not itchy. I just got it today so I don't know about it stretching out. It's not a tight turtleneck to begin with though (which I like).

  6. PSA: The Addie Critter Loafers in Gold Anchors (b4894) are not matching shoes. The left shoe is an anchor, the right a ship wheel.

You can see them here: http://www.polyvore.com/factory_addie_critter_loafers/thing?context_id=3508640&context_type=user_fav&id=126691144

I like them quite a bit, but I'm sure some would not, so thought I would provide a heads up.

  8. The espresso colorway of collection cashmere turtleneck sweater is on the the website now in an xxs and xs. I know some people on here were looking for it and the promo code is still working. HTH!

  9. The last thing I bought from Factory was the Madewell Ames boots. But before that, not much.

I've learned that what I wear most is from retail, not from Factory, so I'm careful about what I buy from Factory now so I don't end up with (nice enough) clothes that I don't wear.
