In J.Crew Stores & Online: 25% Off Closet MVP Styles

"Thanks!" to  many of you who shared the following promotion from J.Crew.

J.Crew is offering an additional 25% select full priced tees, denim, tops, and more as well as an additional 40% to 50% off final sale styles with promo code FINDAFAVE. This offer expires January 27, 2015. The fine print includes:
**25% discount valid on the purchase of select full-price items. 40% and 50% discounts valid on the purchase of select final sale items. Offers valid in J.Crew stores and at jcrew.com from January 23, 2015, 12:01am ET through January 27, 2015, 11:59pm ET. In-store discounts as advertised. Offers valid online on items marked "25% off with code FINDAFAVE," "Extra 40% off with code FINDAFAVE" and "Extra 50% off with code FINDAFAVE." Offers not valid in the 769 Madison Avenue store, Liquor Store, Ludlow Shops, J.Crew Factory stores, at jcrewfactory.com or on phone orders. Offers cannot be applied to previous purchases or the purchase of gift cards and cannot be redeemed for cash or combined with any other offer. In-store discounts automatically taken at the register. To redeem online, enter code FINDAFAVE in the promo code box at checkout. Limit one promotional code per order. Offers valid in the U.S. and Canada only. Terms of offers are subject to change. Final sale items cannot be returned or exchanged.
It's good to see that J.Crew is offering another promotion- and one that includes so many categories.

I am also wondering if B&M stores are offering an additional 40% or 50% off final sale. I am thinking that most stores are probably in the process of sending back their sale merchandise to the warehouses. But with the new inventory system, I am not sure.

Will you be taking advantage of this promotion? Any items you are excited to get? Please share!

  1. no....I find 25% kind of a joke considering it is Jan. and spring arrivals are due out this coming week. I think the BM's will be looking pretty empty this weekend....

  2. My backordered Elephant Loafers finally canceled, but I was able to order the next size up. As I predicted, they don't work. If you see a pair of loafers in a 7h, or have one you want to trade for an 8, please let me know!

    1. I want the 8. Do you still have them? Can I buy them?

    2. Hi Doodle Daschund, I still have them! I haven't mailed them back yet. What's your email? I'm happy to send them your way! They're gorgeous.

  3. I went, horribly depressing. Store mostly depleted of merchandise, empty shelves. Sale 50% off. No signage as to 25% off promo referenced above. Scarves and hats 49% off. Tippis $59.50. Tilly $65.

    Don't bother.

  4. Boo! The Regent blazer is not included. Received the navy early this week, and I like it more because of the square cut at the bottom, and the one button helps-not too bulky on the body. Got it during the 20% promo, but that extra 5% more would've helped.

  5. Sorry, this is off topic but Anthropologie had a nice price cut this morning. I finally ordered the flannel pj bottoms I've been eyeing. The brand is 'by Eloise' and they are great! I have a pair from last year too that I love. Nice prints and they have a button and loop so you can fold and cuff them.

  7. As I reported on my IG @shoppingcelle I popped into Jcrew today hoping to snag a new catalog. No dice. The sale section is still an extra 50% off & final sale. I bought the PINSTRIPE PANT IN JAPANESE WOOL in navy item B0395 for a net $39.99 & both blue and white colors of the sequin side stripe shirt for $17.49 each after discount. I didn't have time to try anything else but I love the look and fabric feel of the new tuxedo pant in abstract print in green.

  8. I went into my B&M today, and they actually had 25% off everything full-priced in-store. (Not sure if this is true for all stores, so please double check with yours) They even let me combine it with my student/teacher discount. The store looked pretty much empty, but I was told they would be filling it back up with new products starting Monday.

  9. Went in to the Eaton Centre location today. Have never seen the place so empty, both of merchandise and customers. Absolutely nothing tempted me for the 25%, and the sale room was basically ravaged - so sparse and sad-looking. Lots of sale jeans but not much else worth even looking at, even for an extra 50%. Came away empty-handed, went down the mall to Club Monaco instead!

    1. caliari67, I completely agree with you. There's the odd things at 'crew lately that makes me want it, but it nothing like Club Monaco. I'm surprised more people on this blog aren't into Club.

Club Monaco's men's offereing are great, their slim fit shirts are slim and the sweaters are cut slightly slimmer as well. The colours are more muted, but with a very modern urban feel. They are becoming my favorite over J.Crew.

      Delete
    2. I agree from a style point of view that Club Monaco is way better than J Crew right now. I unfortunately have too many fit issues with Club. I'm 5'8" and all the sweaters and skirts etc tend to be on the short side...especially tops though. I usually walk into the fitting room excited and walk out disappointed. Some price-points at club are a little higher than they should be too for the quality IMO. Though I might be conditioned to all the sales at Jcrew.

    3. Sunny I'm not familiar with the women's side, but I must say that the men's selection is strong. Luckily I've been scooping up some items on sale; cashmere pullovers and cardigans, a mac jacket and some shirts. The ties are disappointing but I'm very happy with the sweaters and shirts.

    4. JCrewGuy - The thing with Club Monaco is that it does not have a 'preppy' aesthetic at all, of course. So it may not appeal to someone who prefers that in clothing. I like to put a modernist-urban angle in my look and tend to adapt my JC purchases to that (I don't own any plaid shirts or blazers or loafers, for example - just not my thing). Also, much of CM's design aesthetic is centred on neutrals, particularly black, grey and white - which again may not appeal to regular JC customers used to a broader palette. But CM's blouses and sweaters are well-made, use good quality merino and cashmere and silk, and price points are similar to JC. Right now they have extra 40% off sale also and I picked up some great deals. The Eaton Centre location has a lot in their sale room right now. (I find that Mango has a similar look to CM, but with H&M prices and fabrics.)
Sunny - I agree that the skirts and dresses can be a bit short (I'm 5'7" and too old for tiny skirts) but I love their sweaters, blouses, coats etc. and don't find them to be a problem at all. My husband doesn't like CM though as he is the wrong shape for their fit...
Another great thing about Club Monaco is that I find their sizing to be very consistent - I can order from the website without having to do a lot of research into fit reviews, unlike JC lol. And they have avoided the whole oversize-drop-shoulder thing that has overwhelmed JC this year.

    3. I'm not surprised . . . I'm not sure what the term is, but they reworked themselves to only carry higher-end brands. I used to buy a lot of 9West shoes from them - found some styles and colors I couldn't find anywhere else, and the free shipping and returns were great. But once they dropped 9West, there wasn't a reason for me to use them anymore.

    4. Two more down. C. Wonder & Wet Seal filed for bankrupcy this week according to fashionista.com.

@Unknown - I haven't seen the new style guide in-person and haven't bothered to look on Pinterest since they load is slowly. I think someone mentioned that Jan is usually pretty thin and boring, so I wasn't expecting much. I know I'm over polyester at opening prices of $98.

@Shopping Celle - We'll be seeing some major liquidation online. Final sale, of course.

@JenniferD - They *did* do a rebranding. I noticed that, but didn't notice that they dropped brands like NineWest. I had trouble getting on the Gap family websites last year and I stopped looking as much as I used to. I'm happy BR is getting back on track with Marissa Webb. That's promising.

    5. I guess that's why I was able to score those $215 SFAM jeans for $60 on Piperlime. Hope they have more great clearance sales!

    6. Well....here in Canada it was Target. Yes this has been big news. We are also losing Jacob. and Smart Set. The fight for our fashion dollars is getting more limited.....online shopping IMO is where it all will go. The Mall as we know it will shrink.

    7. I could see Piperlime going down the drain for ages. Their offerings used to be much more diverse and I liked that it had a wide range of prices and brands. When they changed it up, they lost me completely.

  15. Did stop by J Crew to get a price adjustment and picked up the Feb. Style Guide. I can't scan but willing to answer any questions. I was somewhat pleasantly surprised but nothing I would pay full price for. Still lots of oversized items, that start at XXXS. But definitely some spring colors. They are definitely listening and bringing back some older items that were popular. Ceces are back in some pretty pastels but we know they are not Made in Italy anymore. Another item is the Uptown Tote in Neon Azure (C0860-$178), also in a bright orange. The top under the Regent Chambray Blazer is Sequin Firework Floral (B8767-$118), Cotton with sequins. The Firework Dress (B9820-$158) is poly, so is the Firework Floral top (C2449-$98). The Grosgrain Ribbon Blouse, poly also (B9902-$98). The Tipped Twill Jacket up on Pinterest (B8544-$178), Poly/Viscose/elastane. There is also a Downing Hobo (B9021-$198), white, dusty cobblestone and english saddle. Cherry Creek, CO store said that new arrivals will be there on Monday and out on the floor by Tuesday, online on Wednesday.

    1. I picked up the style guide as well and I was also somewhat surprised after all the recent bashing. Nothing incredibly exciting but not as boring as I thought, lol. I like the new stand - collar leather jacket in the classic ivory which is decently priced at $498. I also like the new western booties called the Eaton. Other items look promising but need to see/touch IRL. I saw the new Regent blazer in chambray in store and I really liked it, it is very substantial/structured (however I never tried the regent and I don't know about that stand-up collar, even if it makes more sense in a spring jacket than in a winter one). I posted a pic of the leather jacket on my Instagram.

    2. I like the leather jacket, too, along with the boyfriend chinos. For years I have been waiting for a good pair of chinos that's not toothpick cut. I hope the chino is offered in petite.

  21. Anyone have any fit info on the lookout jeans? Specifically the light Von and black watch washes

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. matt bain - I've only tried the lookout hi-rise jeans in blacksmith wash. That's the ones w/the distressed knees. The fit was nice and they looked good. If found them to be tts to my usual numeric size. Flaws for me were that the holes didn't show. I'm 5'0" and the legs don't stretch out enough on me. Also, once I did find hte holes, they were below my knees.

      Delete
    2. Matt bain, I have the light von wash lookout jeans and really like the wash and higher rise. I took them in my toothpick size which is one size up from what I wear in the matchsticks and cafe capris. I saw the light von ones marked down to $49.99 before the 50% off in a store last week so if you are going to purchase then you might want to try a store versus online where they are $79.99. HTH!

  22. I find it funny that B&M stores couldn't hand out the catalog over the weekend, especially because I received mine in the mail this past Saturday.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Quick update: I stopped at the store on my way to pickup and I had only 5 minutes but I saw the leather jacket and a few other items. The leather jacket is a little bit less sophisticated IRL than in the catalog and the zippers are more visible/shiny than I thought. There is a big quilting at the bottom of the sleeves that I hadn't noticed and make it look more "moto". Still a good jacket for the price, I am not dismissing it. The fireworks items with white background and sequins are nice but I am puzzled by them being part of this rollout as the fabric is a very summery cotton, like last year's cove floral. I liked the zipper shells bot the one with beads around the bib and the plain striped one. HTH!
