Seek & Find: Will you visit J.Crew this Weekend?

This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)

If you are stopping by a J.Crew store this weekend to see what's available (if anything!) in the SALE, or to see some NEW ARRIVALS {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!

Also, please let us know if your local store is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)

P.S. I noticed that many of you have already been reporting sale items (and in which stores) in other posts which by the way "thank you!" :) I really appreciate how helpful we are for each other!

  1. Went to the Stanford B&M and saw the Amour tee in several sizes on the sales rack for $24.99, a nice brown jacket for $139.99 (it was similar to the boyfriend fatigue jacket in camo but I can't find it online and didn't record the style #), the Hooded Basketweave jacket for $89.99 (ARGHhhh I hate myself), crepe shift dress in both colors for $89.99, among other things. I tried on a ton of stuff and will write more formal reviews later but was for the most part underwhelmed. But I do think now is a good time for those who can to go in-store to check the sales section and see if they can honor online promo prices and stack them with the 20/25% off (Downtown Field jacket right now is on promo for $138 but was full price in-store, for example). Since the 25% discount going on right now is store-wide, student discounts were not stackable.

  2. I'm tempted to visit the Collection store on Bloor - has anyone been lately? Is the 25% off sale running there? I visited the Fairview store a few days ago and did a bit of damage - got the eyelet shift dress in navy as well as the No.2 pencil skirt in kiwi (on sale in store, still regular price online). Also, by an amazing stroke of luck, I found a pair of the smartphone black leather gloves in my size, buried under the sale pile - always need a back-up pair of gloves!

Off-topic, I am running a giveaway on my blog for followers! I'm giving away a set of Maybelline cosmetics plus a J. Crew $25 gift card. Click here for more info on how to enter! Happy weekend!

  3. Heads-up; 'final sale' items are now 50% off, though it doesn't seem there is a way to just view those items. It looks kind of random how they've chosen what to discount by 50% (i.e., some things from last year are still reg sale). HTH someone :)

    1. Correction: you can sort by 50% off items by category under women's sale, and though many items I would expect to be included aren't, there are some very nice things included. Great deals I spotted: leather pocket merino tunic sweater nets $64.99, leather stripe pixie nets $40 for reg length ($60 for tall--grrr!), medial necklace nets $30, deco earrings end up under $30.

    2. There are some worthy items in the 50% section IMO - even in Crewcuts. I don't like final sale, but some of these items are predictable enough to be fine (pencil skirts etc).

Wish I could get the Lanie high heel sandals in the green print, since I think they are very nice and $85 is a decent price. But 4" is a little high for me, especially without a little platform.

    3. Thank you for the heads-up! I picked up the tipped merino V-neck in navy ($17) and the tartan popover that was a big regret from the holiday season. The other sale items switched to 30% off. I am glad I hold off on the promo-priced and sale during the 25% off (as I am not a cardholder)

    4. Hi Ema. I grabbed the tipped side panel merino vnecks in the lilac/navy and tan/yellow in store yesterday. With the stacked discounts they were $19.59. I think they are perfect for wearing right now.

    5. Shopping Celle, good to hear. I never tried it on but figured that for $17 it was worth a try. I picked the navy/sea salt as I don't have a navy springy sweater.

  4. Has anyone tried on the Factory seersucker skimmer pants? How do they fit compared to other Factory skimmer pants? Did you like the color? The web site is calling the color black.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. cate - I tried the seersucker skimmers. Here's my text review. Just a tad tight across the very top thigh, near the crotch. I know not to size up because they stretch out during the day. I tried 8 just to compare and they were definitely too big in the back thigh. The neon tipping is cute and I think you should be able to style without having to babysit whether that part of the pants is going to match easily with your top.

I think if I tried a different size 6 it might fit better. I have seen the pants a couple times and always think the stripes are navy. They don't read as black-black to me. If I'm able to find the photos, I'll post them in the next set of Factory reviews.

      In short, tts, imo.

  5. My local JCrew store stacked the 20% off sale items with 30% cardmember discount. Sweet! That said there was almost nothing in the sale section that tempted me even though it was overflowing with stock. I was thrilled to get two items: the floral cuff bracelet (a6515) that is still full price online but marked 89.99 in-store and the embroidered dolman tunic in white/flamingo (a2024) that works as a fab beach cover-up is also still full price online but 49.99 in-store. The 20/30 stack really made my day!

SO happy as I would have ended up ordering the skirt fp. This is probably my top pick for spring at both JCrew and Madewell. Hope it doesn't disappoint IRL.

It was good while it lasted! Thanks again Ellen. Funny thing is, I was up when tbe promo started yesterday night and I even placed a small order (the cropped white tee that is on promo) but because the glitch didn't work on my phone I missed on it. Thank you again to those who reported it this morning!

  8. Crewlet news - here's the breakdown that my wonderful, wonderful fit twin, Audreybella of Life Is Short Buy the Shoes emailed to me. I also happened to go yesterday and added a couple things to this list. She did a great job of catching the prices.

    60% off matchsticks
    50% off toothpicks
    40% off dresses, skirts, blazers
Charley's were 30/40 and went to 40/50% off Printed v solids
    Jackies were 60% off
The tipped linen blazer went from 30 to 40% off
Keating linen blazers in coral & mint are 99.97 + 40% off (review here of coral)
    50% off skimmers
    Shoes were 40% I think
Ballet flats 50% off, per signage
The silk Blythe replica is 49.97 + 40% off in alabaster & dark cove (review here)

Remember the 20% off or 25% off w/your J Crew card, on a purchase of $125+.

You will need to show the coupon.

The sa I spoke with said that it was over this past Sunday. Which means I'll be going back to the store for an adjustment. Another store I spoke with didn't know that the coupon was continued. It was previously 25% off or 30% off of $125+ w/your JC card.

I put a screenshot of the curent coupon at the bottom of the Good Man Friday post. I'll have another post today and the coupon will be at the bottom of that as well.

  10. After reading that there was an extra percent off final sale, I added the Italian Wool Flannel Schoolboy to my bag, and it came to $79.99. However, it said it is backordered until July 22. What the heck? That's when they'll be back in stock for the fall! It's like they're giving me a promo on next season's merchandise but making it final sale at the same time. Anyone else had an experience like this?

    3. It did help! It just seemed strange to me that they would do that. At any rate, it was out of stock before I got back around to ordering it. Now I really will have to wait until July!

    3. NewJCA: The citrus shirt (and other button downs) were 50% off the regular price of $64.50. Don't forget the 20/25% off $125 purchases can be used on top of this. Clearance was an additional 40% off but was pretty picked over. No sign of the punk floral yet here in the Houston area.

  12. Well, does Friday count as the weekend?

I stopped by today. Like others, I am powerless against the Long Sleeved Sailor Striped Tee. I LOVE the graphite color so much, I bought two of the same Tshirts. I love the other colorways too, but really love this one.

On a whim, I tried on the Side Striped Skinny Sweatpants in navy. This kind of pant never works on me--but the JCrew version did! Go try them! So flattering! I'm shocked. I have short legs and hips and almost always wear some kind of heel--in these pants I probably would not even wear a heel. In LOVE with these pants.

    Thanks JCrew (twice).

Tried the Colorblocked Crepe Top, which I'm surprised no one has reviewed--I love it. I had to size down to the smaller of my two sizes, though.

Also--sigh--full confession. I bought the Days of the week in French shirt. I felt like I was in 8th grade again, showing off my meager French skills to adults . . . I love this shirt too, though it seems to run a bit roomy.

  13. BIG SALE... in Store. Well, at least that's what appeared to me. I went to Jcrew today online to see if the Eaton Boy Trouser Pant went on sale, it's still $128 in black. But at the store, it was $69.99, plus 20% off and another 25% off. Thus Im super happy I didnt purchase it online :)

    7. Unknown, you are not imagining the fragrance. It's long been a part of a brand's subliminal sales strategy to develop a signature fragrance. I remember first noticing it in the late 1990's at our local Macy's, and then there was an article either in the NYTimes or WSJ about subliminal strategies in the early 2000's. Subliminal strategies also include the music mix piped through the store. It's all part of creating the whole image and experience of the brand, which will also hopefully induce sales. Brands think very hard about these kinds of things.

  24. Since I've been known to misinterpret J. Crew sales in the past, I'm hoping someone can clarify today's email for me. The email I received indicated that new sale items are 30% off and final sale items are an additional 50% off (in stores and online). I decided to venture out to my closest store (Houston area) first thing and was greeted by a SA who announced that final sale items were an additional 40% off. I explained that I had received an email stating final sale was 50% off. She insisted that I must have been mistaken and said she would, you know, "do me a favor" and honor it "this time." I told her not to bother, but, honestly, what is the deal here? I know it's only a 10% difference, but do the stores really receive different information than customers receive, or is this type of thing decided on a store-by-store basis? If that's the case, and the discounts really are a matter of store discretion, it seems to me J. Crew should say so in the fine print. When I got home I called another store about 40 minutes away and was told the same thing--40% off final sale.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Odd - I just assumed the fine print would clear this up but I just read it (novel thought for me the lawyer) and it should apply in store -- 50% that is. I bet no store is advertising that though (and all are at 40% like you experienced).

      Delete
    2. Elizabeth, you read the email correctly. I would have showed them the email or had them call CS for clarification. But like you if they had given me the one time doing me a favor speech it would have annoyed me too. Plus, since the prior promo was 20% off sale prices in store which made them final sale! plus the 25/30% off not sure what the big deal was for them.

  38. I ended up biting too -- I've been dithering for a few days about a couple items in the 50% off category and made the last minute decision to purchase -- the liberty one piece swimsuit (Ricardo's blooms, $45) and biella tassel loafers in sheer pink (perforated!, $85). These are safe bets for me, as I swim daily in summer and make use of any and all swimsuits and jc swim has the rare distinction of always being consistent in size. As for the biellas, I prefer the darbys, but the biellas are stiffer which has the benefit of better support, and I have earlier versions of this shoe so I am quite certain they will fit. Any version of pink is always a winner with me, and this sheer pink looks like a great neutral. Not sure why these perforated versions (also offered in navy) are already in the 50% bin -- they seem newish to me and are still available in all sizes...
