Seek & Find: Will you visit J.Crew this Weekend?

This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)

If you are stopping by a J.Crew store this weekend to see what's available (if anything!) in the SALE, or to see some NEW ARRIVALS {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!

Also, please let us know if your local store is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)

P.S. I noticed that many of you have already been reporting sale items (and in which stores) in other posts which by the way "thank you!" :) I really appreciate how helpful we are for each other!

  1. I'd like JCrew to stop messing with us and just offer the percentage off sale whenever Friday rolls around or smth. This is getting tiresome. I was in the store today - they've got 30% off sale again.

    1. Agreed. Not all of us can get to the stores - please offer the 30% off sale online!

    2. Agreed from a customer perspective, but it's working for them. They keep us on our toes and checking in constantly. Not sure many other brands have customers who pay such close attention...

  2. I don't know if this is the right place to ask (just wrote a long rant in the Vent thread, but not sure if anyone will see my question there). Anyway, does anyone have any reviews of the Shirred Lace dress (item 08578), or has anyone even seen it in real life? TIA for any answers:)

    1. I have never seen that dress in person, but it looks really pretty. I can see why you want to try it. I just read your Vent, I'd be so annoyed too. I just did exactly this with Madewell when I ordered two sizes in white jeans. The CS rep could not have been nicer and noted on my account that I could return one of the pairs (I'm actually keeping both because the price was good and my size fluctuates). J. Crew has done this a time or two for me too. Have you tried calling back? Or asking for a supervisor? Sometimes what they say depends on who you talk to. If I were you, I would definitely try calling back and hopefully someone else can help you. It's a very reasonable request, I don't know why they can't help you out. Best of luck!

    2. I agree with wellfedfred below; you ended up a with bad VPS. I've been shopping ridiculously in the past few months because I finally found a VPS who understands that treating your customers well fosters loyalty and encourages more buying. I would definitely keep calling back until you find one who will accommodate you, and then keep his/her contact info. I haven't had problems with returning FS items when I've wanted to try different sizes. HTH. Good luck.

    3. Thanks Cate, Shoelove and wellfedfred! Really appreciate the support and ideas. I did call the VPS line and got a fabulous lady who was so helpful and very understanding. She waived final sale for the different sized items and I placed my order this morning, taking advantage of the 40% off sale (just had a feeling something like that was coming, so I waited).

      Thanks again!:)

  3. You just got a jerk on the phone. I'd try again, use the magic number that's supposed to connect you to a personal stylist, and explain. Seems to me that if there are that many of the dress still available, they'd be happy for the chance to sell at least one. A number of JCAs have reported that the PS notates "permission to return" on your "permanent record" in similar instances.

  4. Does anyone have insight as to when final sale will end? I seem to remember it has been March or April in past years...

  5. Has anybody seen a Schoolboy in Heather Mineral in 00 floating around in stores? CS says they're all sold out, but JCA WWFIFY has proven them wrong!

  6. Got an April Style Guide at my store yesterday....Yes JCrew, I think you may be on to something four months into the year. I am now looking forward to the new stuff so probably won't bother going this weekend to look at the same old stuff.

    3. If there is an online rollout scheduled for Wednesday, then the April Style Guide will probably be on Pinterest tomorrow based on how they've been doing it the past few months.

  8. OT...in the new InStyle (April edition with Jennifer Lopez on the cover)..,they show 6 of the new Sophia Webster shoes and prices that will be available starting in April. It's on page 83. They are GORGEOUS and expensive...$320-$650 depending on shoe. I really hope these are much higher quality than the usual ones especially for over $600.

    1. Oh well there goes my chance of owning a pair. Even in sale, my size would eventually sell out first. Been eyeing the one Jenna was wearing on the day of that fashion show...its a T strap

      Delete
    2. After seeing the prices I feel the same way about this as I do about some of the other partnerships...her shoes retail at Nordstrom for about $350-$595 so why would you spend the same or more to get them from jcrew? If you buy the real thing...quality is on par with other top designers...if you buy jcrew...it's questionable at best. The styles are her signature styles...and the prints are probably more jcrewy...but not $650 worth to me personally. They are very pretty and I am sure they will sell out fast.

  9. With everyone reporting stores having 30% sale items, I wonder if that is what J.Crew is doing as their next promotion.

JCAs - Can you clarify something for me; I'm planning to buy the silver Callie heels that is on promo right now (not the sunny promo), will I be able to get a price adjustment with the 30% promo applied to that shoe purchase? I know I've read where some of you guys have done that, and it worked.

Low stock on the silver or warm cobblestone Callie high heels, and I want to make a move now before my size sells out completely.

BTW, thanks Gigi for the review! Have you worn it since you bought it? Was it comfortable?

  11. Attention Chicago JCAs - the North Michigan Avenue location is closed until the 19th. They are moving across the hall. I'm so mad that I didn't call ahead as I walked all the way over there only to find the store shuttered. Argh!

    3. Alexis, can you please make this a real post on the JCA homepage?? It would be very helpful for Michigan Avenue shoppers. It IS noted on the J.Crew website on the store locator page but if you're a regular you won't be looking there :)

If you will be in the city this weekend the North Avenue store is still open; it houses men, women, and crewcuts as well as the Collection line. The store is at 929 West North Avenue, Chicago, IL 60622 and the phone number is 312 961 0784. Just a short cab ride from the Michigan Avenue store - get out at the corner of North Ave. and Sheffield!

    4. That's interesting that the website notes the temporary closure. The Factory website STILL does not have the new Chicago store on its website and it's been open for I'd say at least 6 months.

  12. Thank you to the jca who alerted us that the spike mint necklace is on sale for $99.99 in stores. This is the only necklace I was interested in and I would have missed on it as I leave for vacation tomorrow (I put mine on hold yesterday and I think it was the last one or they sold the last one today because they took out the one that was on view). Yay for 30% off sales to boot!

    5. I saw that while hunting it down this morning. Nordstrom won't ship that shoe to Canada either. Not sure what's so unusual about it that it can't come here. No Canadian retailer seems to have it either from what I can find so it's not like there's some exclusivity arrangement - from what I can see.

  26. I went today and my store (Walden Galleria in Buffalo had 40% off sale) 25% off select flats, that was the only other sign I saw. I tried a few things on, mostly basics, ended up with the circular petals necklace ($99.99 before discount, still FP online), Minnies in cabernet ($59.99 before discount) and the tippi in brilliant purple ($59.99 before discount also still FP online). The vivid turquoise ones were also marked down. My sale section was pretty packed, I didn't try on a ton.

I did try on the perforated Nora flats which I LOVED. I am almost always a 9.5 in their shoes and took a 9 in these. The pair they had in the store had some discoloration on the toes so I passed today but I will definitely be ordering the gold ones in these and returning my Quorra flats. You can't see through these! I don't know what they were ringing up in store, I would have ordered a pair in store but it took the SA forever to process my return for some odd reason so I figured it would be quicker to order them online.

  27. Vancouver JCA's What are the sale section like...packed or picked over...or worse prices still high ?

  28. I stopped by quickly yesterday to do a return and so of course, checked out the store quickly. The only thing I bought were both colors (navy and off white) of the perforated leather belt (a3436) that was on sale for $21 after the 30% off sale promo. I love perforated belts because sizing is so flexible, waist or hips.

What I returned was the Barbour Axle Jacket (03529), which I ordered when the 25% off everything promo was going on. I have a couple of leather jackets in moto styles and love them, and I also love barbour, so I thought I'd try it, but this jacket is just way too much biker for me. It's super tight with loud zippers and … well, pretty much how it looks online so I shouldn't have been surprised.

  31. Went to a Factory store (Chicago Fashion Outlets) to make some returns and did not see the online navy trench. I know several JCAs were interested so thought I would mention it. The store manager said they were getting some new items next week but wasn't sure if the navy trench was coming in store. I did see several customers trying on and purchasing the regular Factory belted trench (but oddly I didn't see them on the floor but the SA said they had some in back. I know some JCAs were looking for the Factory Trench so thought I would mention it.) By the time I got there, the store was really picked over and they didn't have my size in the few things I would have tried on. I did get the Crewcuts Starfish Charm necklace. Super cute. I also went to a retail store to make some returns. Nothing really caught my attention. As other JCAs mentioned, they were doing 40% off sale and some other in-store promos. Sales section was so so. Pretty much the same old stuff lingering around. I did finally buy the Transport Tote in English Saddle from Madewell. I have been waiting for a promo and I received a $25 off $100 coupon and decided to pull the trigger.

  32. Just got some 40% off sale items and some normal priced items bought with my rewards card. First love the new packaging. Second the Collection Basketweave dress is not only yellow- BUT NEON- like flourescent highlighter NEON! Not even going to unpackage it- it's just not me! But I will nicely write to credit my rewards $$ to my account (sometimes I slip in a nice little card or postcard) since I also ordered the collection linen coat (with the firefighter buckles) at the same price as the dress. Also CS did allow me to return the Collection Cate Sequin dress. So I have a lot to try on tonight!

    1. Ok, I got the collection antiqued floral top - in size 6 as the description was tailored fit- way too big looks great from the front but the back as a lot of fabric! Also really stiff- thought it would be more silky.
Stone burst necklace: LOVE IT- got it on pop back!
Peasant top in night garden: Love the print but it was a bit sheer and silky- maybe I should read the descriptions better- I thought it was like the flower patch shirt cotton. But it'll be great when summer comes!
Ruffled Popover in luau indigo : since i'm flat chested but have wide hips I get the popovers in size 4 (normal shirts in P8 or PM or 6)- but this popover is HUGE on me again-tons of fabric in the back makes me look preggers...(just chubby) and I'm not totally sure how I like the fabric is kinda like a chambray.
Linen Blazer in Torando: P8 super tight on the shoulders which I thought maybe the case since linen is tight- I had gotten the new schoolboy in navy in P10 based on Gigi's review but it was kinda big in the waist...but I kept it- but since I don't typically wear blazers buttoned I'm going to keep the linen blazer.
Riviera earrings: HOLY CRAP they are HEAVY!!! they kinda make my ear ache!
Cable Knit Pocket Sweater: ehh but i kept it

-pair of camel trousers never worn
-viv flats. bella loafers...realized I really dislike patent shoes...they look cheap

    4. @federalagentfashionista, I have been looking at the collection antiqued floral top for a long time. They don't have it in my usual J. Crew shirt size: 10. It is available in an 8. Based on what you wrote above, it makes me wonder if it might fit well in the 8. In a 10, tops are a good fit. Neither too large, nor too small- just right : ) (for the most part!). Would you feel comfortable recommending the 8 based on your own personal experience with this particular top? Your advice is very welcome!

    5. Not to butt in, Calicoandtweed, but I also have this top :) If you aren't busty and have small shoulders, I think the 8 should work, but you might want to chat w/CS and ask for measurements, since it is FS. As FAF said, the fabric is stiff, but it is a very nice fabric-it isn't as shiny as the pants, FWIW. HTH :)

  40. Just returned from the new-ish J.Crew at Southcenter Mall in Tukwila, WA. It seemed larger than the Bellevue store that I usually frequent. Good selection of women's items, with sale stuff sprinkled on a couple racks, then a whole sale "room" of sorts in the middle, then shoes, then men. The SAs were friendly and helpful, but I was the only customer for most of my visit. Tons of items on sale with a range of sizes available, all 40% off, plus they stacked the educator discount. Was able to get a price adjustment on the new perforated belt I just purchased on sale for $36 down to $15 (reg. price $48). The windowpane floral scarf still FP online was marked down to $39.99 before discount. There were also random other discounts like 25% off woven shirts and woven scarves, which I was informed about right as I entered. Overall, the good selection and friendly staff will make me visit this store over Bellevue in the future.

  41. Thank you mack for the heads up on the basket weave hooded jacket! My local B&M did a charge send with free shipping and stacked everything with a student discount. Crazy that I had to pay 2.5x more than my sister to get the exact same jacket within a month apart! Never ever paying close to FP on anything from JC ever again!

But in any case, I was really glad to go to a store today. I ended up getting the Collection Silk Ensemble Dress (style # A0069). I hadn't noticed it before online but it fit surprisingly well in length despite not being petite and I needed an outfit like this for an interview I'm having next week, so I was thankful to have stumbled across it! In-store price is $20 more than online, but the SA matched the online price and stacked the additional 40% off with the educator discount! Days like this, I love JCrew!
