My last two orders from JC took only a couple of days to arrive, so hurrah to that! :)
ReplyDeleteAlso hats off to all the Vancouver stores staff. They are always so helpful!
I went to two Vancouver stores last summer and also thought they provided great customer service. My mom thought so too and bought a cashmere sweater full price in Canadian dollars, she liked the sales associate so much (Robson Street).
DeleteGood news: I ordered 7 items from the last big sale - all arrived in good shape and on time. All fit and flatter perfectly.
ReplyDeleteBad news: I wore my new 120's pencil skirt for the first time yesterday and even though it is not tight, the back seam split 4 inches at the end of the day.
Good news: the skirt is not final sale! (Hope there is still one in my size because I would like to give it another try).
I'm enjoying the random popbacks that've been sprinkled throughout the sale section lately. Makes browsing a bit more interesting.
ReplyDeleteThe sale section this morning also included the relatively new navy tweed skirt, marked down from $118 to $98 -- but $98 was the original price when the skirt was released a few weeks ago. ??? A quick review, if anyone's interested: fabric is a tightly woven cotton/poly tweed, a bit stiff with no stretch or give. The white threads in the tweed are a true white, and the navy threads are a dark inky navy. Very short (true to the online description) and also runs small. Two pleats in the front, stitched down through the hips which makes for a slim fit; a simple A-line with hidden zipper in the back. Overall the skirt is a bit schoolgirl-ish, but cute. I'd consider it on markdown, but don't think I'd get enough use from it to justify paying full price (or today's faux-sale price, for that matter). .
I had excellent customer service yesterday from the Personal Shopper phone line. It's wonderful working with knowledgeable, friendly people who want to help you!
ReplyDeleteI just received a Madewell catalog in the mail today! When did they start sending those out?!
ReplyDeleteI think I have been getting mine for at least a year now. I usually give my email when I check out in store. I might have filled out a mailing list card in store.
DeleteThey come out sporadically. I think I've gotten a total of three over the last few years or so. I haven't been able to figure out the pattern.
DeleteI've never found them to be as nice as the style guide, but I thought this one was particularly uninteresting.
I made an embarrassing number of returns to the store last week from hoarded online purchases and was expecting major side-eye, but my salespeople were so nice about it!
ReplyDeleteNot really a "love" post, more of a happy accident ... I ordered the Madewell Silk Texturepleat top in pearl ivory, but what arrived was a dark top with spots though in the Texturepleat bag. At first I was miffed, they sent the wrong top and now the Texturepleat top is sold out. But then I decided to pull out the spotted top and take a look at it. I was size L, same size of the Texturepleat I had ordered. It looked kind of cute. No product tag on it, I was wondering if someone had worn it but it didn't smell used (is that gross?). So I decided to try it on. Nice! I waffled about sending it back, then ultimately decided to keep it even though I paid a little more for it than I should. It's sold out now anyway. I'm pretty sure it's the Shirred Top in Stamp Dot in the charcoal gray color. There was another Shirred Top with shiny dots, but I think that top was silk and the one I got is poly. So happy accident.
