25% Off Women's Apparel & Accessories (includes sale)

"Thanks!" to  many of you, including GigisGoneShopping (in this post), who shared the following email & promotion from J.Crew.

J.Crew is offering 25% off women's apparel and accessories (even sale!) with promotional code HAPPYSHOPPING. This offer expires March 11, 2014. The fine print includes:

*Offer valid on the purchase of select women's items in J.Crew stores and at jcrew.com from March 7, 2014, 12:01am ET through March 11, 2014, 11:59pm ET. Offer not valid in 769 Madison Avenue, Bloor Street or J.Crew Factory stores; at jcrewfactory.com; or on phone orders. Offer cannot be applied to previous purchases or the purchase of gift cards and cannot be redeemed for cash or used in combination with any other offer. Offer not valid on denim styles, select Collection items or third-party branded merchandise. In-store discount automatically taken at the register. To redeem online, enter code HAPPYSHOPPING in the promo code box at checkout. Limit one promotional code per order. Offer valid in the U.S. and Canada only. Terms of offer are subject to change.
This promotion is great for the ladies who are interested in some new arrivals, that have yet to be marked down.

With that said, J.Crew still has quite a few items in their Sale (click here to shop online) section online. Not sure why they did not continue to run the 40% off sale, in addition to this one.

Will you be taking advantage of this promotion? If so, please share!

  2. Well, now I have to go in for a price adjustment. I ordered 2 things FP (which I never do, but they were selling quickly). Luckily I'm in the 7 day window. Even if they weren't I'd return and rebuy if I had to.

  4. Heads up, the Nikes are shown in the grouping with promo items, but are not included in the promo. Probably same for the anchor Sperrys.

    1. The promo is working even for third party items! I did an order of just third party merch this morning including the nikes.

A mock checkout also shows the sperrys with anchors as coming out to $73.50. This is an awesome promo in my opinion, it's rare to see a global discount without exclusions like this!

    2. If anyone is looking to buy the orange Nike Pegasus 83'-that is sold out at JCrew, Zappos is carrying the same color, for the same price, and comes in all sizes. Lucky for those who snapped it with the 25%!

    3. Not sure... I bought them last week or so, called for a price adjustment today when I saw the promo, they took a while checking and told me they are not included in the promo and would not price adjust that item. Maybe I will call back. There was no red print about the 25% off under the shoes, even though they showed up with the promo items. Maybe it was just an issue because of price adjustment, too.

    4. They are officially excluded from the promo now.

  5. Happy that this promo applied to the cubist print swimsuits, I was hoping for a 20% off but 25% is even better. I ordered the two styles available to try on. I would prefer the bandeau as I think I am a bit done with string bikinis but the bottom that goes with it looks very unflattering. Will see! Debating some other stuff but need to try on first.

  6. Does anybody know what happens to my rewards if I return the item I bought? I just got the Andies with 20% + rewards :/

    2. If you buy one item using rewards and end up returning the item, I'm pretty sure you lose the rewards. That's never happened to me- I usually buy multiple items so if I return one of them, I get what I paid credited back and still saved on the other items.

  7. you get the rewards back as a gift card. the rest goes back to the original form of payment.

i just returned about $40 ($25 of which was with the rewards). i got that back as a gift card with the remaining credited to my jcrew card.

    1. Darn, I bought the basket weave dress using the rewards card- I was hoping they just credit the account as I also bought the linen slicker that way if I didn't like the dress I slicker cost the same...and if I didn't like the slicker I just return and get credit. If they refund the rewards then I'll have to send back the slicker and re-buy it re-using the rewards (yeah that was confusing as I typed it...)

    2. If it's any consolation FAF, one time a cashier did just refund the rewards to my credit card... But to be honest, I think the cashier was overworked and didn't feel like doing the gift card thing.

  8. Madewell is doing an addtl 30% off promo & sale w/DAYLIGHT thru Monday. Legalese says not good in-store, but I asked anyway because I bought this dress (08738) and wanted to see if there was an addtl % off. There is not an addtl % off sale in-store. As of today, anyway. The dress was only $29.99 and I was happy w/that to egin with.

    2. I'm so happy with this promo. I was going to order four things (yikes!) but decided to only get a pair of jeans. I've been eyeing the Parkline Dress in colorblock--anyone have a review of it? The online reviews aren't conclusive on sizing and don't have photos.

    3. I tried on the parkline dress. It runs tts. I took a 4 - my normal dress size, It's really cute, but not on my body shape (inverted triangle - I look too busty). I really like the material. It's heavy and will keep its shape.

  9. Anyone try the no.2 pencil skirt in cotton twill? I'd love to get one of the colors, but am wondering about the fit.

    1. Hi maryeb, I have. In short: fits like a glove. I like it even better that the previous version. It is a bit longer (which I thought would be a problem), but I find that that makes for an even more flattering fit. The seams at the back are quite subtle and I think they also make for a better fit; they may make alterations a bit more difficult, though. I got the same size as in previous years. HTH!

      Delete
    2. maryeb - Rynetta didn't like the back seams and discussed it here.

I tried on the Factory version last year. It has the same seams, which you can see if you click the pics to enlarge. I think if you have more 'back,' the seams are more pronounced as they contour down your shape. I'm not wearing pencil skirts right now and think if I were, the seams might not be a match for me. This after trying on a few J Crew pencil skirts recently without any back/side seaming. If I were getting it, I'd call cs for the waist/hip measurements to know which of my 2 sizes to pick.

      $.02. x $.02.

    3. Thanks a lot for the info! I'm very tempted to try it. I love several colors.

    4. Gigi: thanks for linking to my discussion/review!!!!

maryeb: the new pencil skirt looked horrible on me, but I have junk in the trunk. So, the seams did not work for me. HTH!

    5. I really love the new fit too, it is more form fitting, if you are between sizes you might want to size up, my smaller size had a little too much va-va-voom for the office.

  11. Hello JCAs! As Gigi mentioned, Madewell is offering an extra 30% off sale styles until 3.10.14. The promo-priced items also receive the discount, and there are a lot of them this time around, too. I've updated the Madewell Promo-Priced Items list: See It Here.

  12. Went into the store and made a pretty large purchase, but they wouldn't let me stack my student discount with the 25% off. :(

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Brittney - It's a global promo, good on almost the whole store so no student/educator discount. Of course you will read others saying their store let them stack. The policy is no stacking on global promos.

  13. This should be in reviews, but just in case anyone's thinking of buying the Eastwood jean with the discount: they run HUGE. I ordered my usual jeans/cords size (29) and the Eastwood jean literally fell off and down to my ankles. They aren't "low slung." They way too big for my hips. I don't even know which size to choose - probably 2 or 3 sizes smaller.

    1. I went down 2 sizes from my Matchstick/Toothpick size and that was the right size for me. They were still a bit loose but that's the way the style is supposed to fit. I agree they are not low-slung (how can a high rise jean be low-slung?), but they were still a bit slouchy so there was too much material in the zipper area.

  14. I'm thinking of using this discount for the maternity matchsticks - anybody try them?

  16. Does anyone know if the Stone burst pearl necklace (#a8010) is part of a jewellery promo other than the global promo? I kept reading about in-case or out of case jewellery being on promo a few days back - is that still on? Also, did anyone go to a B&M today? Are they not doing an extra percentage off sale anymore? Thank you so much for any info you can give me!

    3. Loretta - the antique floral silk panel sweater is reg price online vs $89.99 in-store. I reviewed it in this post agree w/Rynetta & JRSConfer to try ordering it from a store.

    4. I live in Canada and dislike going to the stores. I purchased the XS size and it says backordered until April 22.

Actually, when I login into my account, it doesn't show my order in the Order History. but I did receive an order confirmation email. Should I be worried? It's 103.50 with the 25% discount.

  22. So annoying the jeans are now excluded from promo! Why do they always have to change the rules in the middle of the game?

    1. Denim and third-party were excluded in the verbiage from the beginning, but they weren't programmed to be exclusions (major oops on JC's part that they fixed... probably after reading about it here). If it seems to be too good of a deal, jump on it right away. For over 5 years JCA's have been alerting JC to their website flubs, often not intentionally.

    2. that explains the new balance 620s, then. when they were in stock online, in only one color and one size, they were included in the promo. this morning, when they were restocked in all colors and most sizes, they were excluded from the promo. sigh.

"For over 5 years JCA's have been alerting JC to their website flubs, often not intentionally"

And I've been hoping we cd figure out a smart way to help each other out without helping JCrew.
