Seek & Find: Will you visit J.Crew this Weekend?

This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)

If you are stopping by a J.Crew store this weekend to see what's available (if anything!) in the SPRING sale, or to see some new SUMMER arrivals {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!

Also, please let us know if your local store is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)

P.S. I noticed that many of you have already been reporting sale items (and in which stores) in other posts which by the way "thank you!" :) I really appreciate how helpful we are for each other!

  4. OT: Final Sale is back at Madewell again. Boo to that...even with the extra 30% off. I thought they realized how ridiculous it is to make their sales final when most of the country doesn't have a Madewell store near them to try anything on first. I hope they reconsider again like they did the last time they tried it.

  5. If anyone sees the shelby dress in white in their store in either 0 or 2, please e-mail me at pgr001@gmail.com Thanks.

  6. FFM, ITA. I think at least if there were reviews of items, one could make a more educated guess before purchasing final sale. And although final sale stinks, at least it would be easier to deal with knowing you at least had a chance to research the item.

  7. I will be in the DC/Northern Va area this weekend. Anyone know if the Tyson's store is worth making a trip in that direction? THANKS :)

  8. I have never bought anything from Madewell and don't plan too...however, I agree that final sale is awful unless prices are super low. The only place that I shop where final sale is worth it due to super duper low prices is Talbots.

  9. Talbots do have super sale? I didn't know that. I'll be heading to a local store today to return the incorrect shirt that i Received. So inconvenient. I shopped at madewell only a few times. Not too impressed with their merchandise. Not to say final sale? Forget it. I rather pay more to have the option to return if things don't work out

  10. Have some returns to make so may stop by. Was in on Tuesday and I couldn't believe all the newish arrivals that had already been marked down. I was surprised to see anything left that was full price!

  11. JCee Tomato,

Yes, Talbots has some amazing LOW prices and great sales. Not right now that I know of but end of every season some amazing online (and some instore) deals to be had. Get on their emailing list from their website and they have a rewards card you can sign up for that is NOT a credit card. Also, when you get your rewards certificate they last for a whole year. (Unlike JCrew's which last like a month or two at most.)

  12. Karen,
I live in the DC area and have been to almost all the b&m stores. I really like the Tyson's store and of all the other stores I've been to, they seem to have the most stock. Plus they're a collection store so you can look at all that stuff too.
    HTH!

  13. Genny, I'll be sure to check talbot out. Thanks! I am on the look out for new brands to be obsessed. I used to be a club Monaco fanatic, now jcrew but unfortunately my poor experiences is swaying me to explore options....

The rewards take forever to arrive! I don't think I'll have anything left to buy when they issue me my gc!

  14. @honeybee, THANKS! I will be sure to check it out. I've never been in a collection store - or a store that carries shoes. Thinking Tyson's may carry shoes too?! WooHoo

  15. OT there are two Roulette Clutches for sale on Ebay with nyblackcat and I have purchased two items from her (NWT) and they were in perfect condition.

  16. If you make it to a B&M this weekend find the Caravan pant, and try them! I just got a pair that I ordered and I am in love! They are the perfect spring/summer pant! I can only hope my local store has them so I can pick up more colors!

  17. Tried on the rumi dress. I like it. It's big, as becoming normal with jcrew dresses. You can size down one size, or if you're straight, probably 2. Cute in poppy. My store carried a great bright violet that wasn't online. Think it might wrinkle easily, but that's what starch is for.

  18. I plan on stopping at the Lake Forest, IL store tomorrow. It is one of the "high end" stores, so I am hoping they carry the PG items....If anyone sees them in store, let me know!

  19. Thanks StaciStaci I was wondering about sizing in that dress. The in-store bright violet color sounds like a color I would love. :)

  21. Has anyone seen the paisley minnies? I was wondering how the quality and fit are. Thanks!

  22. Has JCrew in the past used this much Linen during the summer? Just a bit surprised to see it used SO, SO much.

  23. Also if people trying on clothes in store, can they comment their thoughts on the quality of fabrics being used? TIA! :>

  24. On a side note about the rumi dress - I will be purchasing it with my 20% off cardmember discount. I did like it. And I did think $118 was a great price for the dress. The neckline does fall a bit low, so be weary if you're busty. Also, the belt is a bit weird. The only way to make it better would be if the belt was easily removable - but it isn't, it's more a drawstring. And once you remove a drawstring - you'll never get it back in.

    ReplyDelete
  25. StaciStaci, to replace a drawstring just put a large safety pin on one end of the string and close the pin. Thread the pin through the fabric channel and the string will follow along. Once out the other side just remove the pin and you're done.

Not something you want to do every other day but it has saved me when the drawstring came out of a pair of pants in the laundry.

LOL - my verification word is sizedne. Guess I can size down.

  26. I went to my B&M yesterday and they had addn'l 30% off final sale. I bought the Katie eyelet cami for $13 and the perfect fit boat stripe tee for $10 (after discount). They had quite a few dresses for $30-$80, sequin sweatshirt for $80, lots of shells for $30 (all before discount). I didn't check out prices for work attire but they had quite a few options there too.

  27. Dawn, which store did u visit? I went to two n ny but I didn see any addl disc?

  28. Pathos I think they might be using Linen so much since the cost of cotton has skyrocketed. I too would be interested in any in store finds/reviews. My store just has such a small selection and no suiting or shoes or purses or swim etc. TiA

  29. Totally OT, but someone on EBay (not me) is selling a velvet Bella jacket in size 4 in welsh purple. No one has bid on it and the auction ends in 9 hours, so I thought a JCA might want to know.

  30. Can anyone comment on how bright the strawberry boy shirt is? Thanks.

  32. I visited the Grand Rapids, MI B&M today. No extra % off sale items, but I picked up a few things- the Pipette Cargo Pant ($19.99 in store, $29.99 online) and a Favorite Fit Tank ($9.99), oh and the new catalog. While checking out the new releases the Mirabel Pencil Skirt caught my eye and I confess that I am now hopelessly in LOVE!! The fabric is gorgeous and the fit very flattering. I own no J. Crew skirts and up to this point never really paid any attention to them, so this infatuation was completely unexpected! :) I also tried the Shrunken Fisherman Sweater in navy and really liked it. It is substantial without being too bulky. Both of these are at the top of my wish list.

  33. Was in the Tyson's store on Friday. Extra 30% off sale merchandise.

    ReplyDelete
  34. JCee Tomato, I was at the Lake Grove, NY location. Their sale section was pretty expansive.

  35. Has anyone seen a size 4 Seersucker pencil skirt anywhere? I can't believe they're sold out online!

    ReplyDelete
  36. Can someone explain to me the text for the Mirabel skirt? It says it is partially lined? What part is lined? I have not seen that with a skirt and I'm confused.

  37. Anybody visit Madewell this weekend? I'm interested in the Market Tank Dress (item 43773), but couldn't find it to try on in my local store. Has anyone seen it or tried it on?
