Will you be checking out the Sale section? Are there any items you are hoping to see or to get?
Some items were moved from sale section in crewcuts. Otherwise, not much for me. Most of the smaller sizes are sold out, and I am a bit tired of this crop of merchandise and ready for summer. But I'll watch everyone's posts to see if any "must have" items are discovered! (secretly wishing more dresses in 0)
ReplyDeleteI haven't ordered anything in 3 weeks and still don't see anything I want. Grrr.
ReplyDeleteThere are a few things I would like to repurchase with the 30% off but I don't know if they will pop back in my size.
ReplyDeleteI bought quit a bit in the past two weeks... Unfortunately i dont think i have much left to buy.... I'll check the local stores to see what's available though. I'm quit interested in their flats
ReplyDeleteI was able to purchase a few coveted items! It was worth waiting for the 30% off :)
ReplyDeleteAny reviews on the Portfolio dress and the lace over tank? My BB won't let me do a search.
ReplyDeleteMany thanks!
sub.
ReplyDeleteYay for an extra 30% off! I did take advantage of the promo and ordered a couple of things this morning.
ReplyDeleteLove the low minimum shipping, I placed an order this morning and will wait to see if anything new goes on sale or something pops back in my size.
ReplyDeleteWould be interested to know if the 30% off in store is final sale. If you go please report back.
Found a couple of Baird McNutt linen shirts for MrBP. These shirts are the best, he lives in them, happy to get them at such a great price.
ReplyDeleteHad to try the gingham scout chinos after seeing them look so adorable on Ema. Thanks for the review of them Ema!
Ema- i had to google Napolean Dynamite....*very* funny!!!
ReplyDeleteI arrived too late! I wanted the coddington heels in black or red 6 but they are gone. If someone sees them, would you be so kind to put them on hold/ let me know?
ReplyDeleteIt doesn't look like anything online that's 30% off is final sale - so I would assume it's also not the case in stores? I bought the Everly cardi in gray two weeks ago and love it so much, I'm snapping it up in tawny moss. The forever cardi and Katie eyelet cami are also two things I've been waiting and watching go down. Ordering them today!

ReplyDeleteHi -- I have an OT question -- if that is OK. I sold an item on ebay on 5/17 and buyer has not paid or emailed me back.
ReplyDeletehow long does this usually take?
thanks!!
Conster-
ReplyDeleteEbay gives the buyer 4 days from the sale date to pay. Then the seller can file a non-paying bidder claim. Ebay then contacts the buyer, asking them to pay for the item within 4 days. If they don't, there are various things you can do through Ebay to resolve the issue. HTH.
I took advantage and bought my fiance three Baird McNutt linen shirts and several lightweight button downs.... he lives in them, and will be great for our honeymoon this summer. :-)
ReplyDeletethanks J Bird!
ReplyDeleteI took advantage and ordered the Le Soleil skirt. Has anyone seen it? I'm hoping it's not too short. It looks divine. I'm picturing myself wearing it with all sorts of pretty tops.
ReplyDeleteA - Wool crepe portfolio dress in this post. Lace-over tank on AppGal and Confession of a JCrewaholic
ReplyDeleteI'm glad that a few of you found some items. I was hoping for a typical good Monday morning update and it was pretty minimal. Oh well.
ReplyDeleteSorry to be off topic but the tornado footage from Joplin MO has made me cry. I know other cities and towns were hit hard last night too. My parents were so lucky, a storm hit their town and there was significant structural damage only 3 blocks from their house, but all they have on their block are downed trees and lots of vegetation debris plastered to the sides of their houses. Nasty storm season! I hope you're all doing OK.
Thank you SOO much Gigi!
ReplyDeleteTamara: I'm so glad to hear that your parents are ok! And I hope it didn't impact u guys.
ReplyDeleteI didn't see much that I have to have, so, I didn't act on this wonderful promo...... I'm actually proud of myself. Hopefully I can keep it up n not shop too excessively.... Tho I tend to...
I may bite and order the Allura Shift Dress in the super 120--I have it in two colors (superfine cotton), and i love it. It fits my hourglass shape perfectly, though at only 5'2'', I did have the straps shortened. I highly highly recommend it in either fabric!
ReplyDeleteI should have an OOTD for the dress up soon!
http://prepstyle.blogspot.com/
Used this today! I got the e-mail but didn't think it was going to apply to my $30.00 order. Thank goodness I checked here and saw the 30% was separate from the shipping discount. Saved me $12!
ReplyDeleteEma, My store is having final sale.
ReplyDeleteJ Crew - Revised links to irl pics. Sale section, of course.
ReplyDeleteTalbots - FBJUNE for free shipping no minimum, today only.
And happy birthday to AppGal!
Pathos, Napoleon Dynamite is a classic but the first time that I watched it I didn't get it, I felt pity for him. In any case I really felt lile him with that tee!
ReplyDeleteDaniBP, you will love them. By the way they stretch out so in case they feel tight at first (I understand from your comment that you sized down) give them some time. That's why I reordered them in a 00 (I am a 00 only in the Minnies in pants).
savvy shopper, thanks for the info!
OT but I was browsing the men's section of the catalog and had to laugh at the picture on page $118 where the model is wearing an outfit completely wrinkled (top left). At first I thought that it was a quality of the tee but then I noticed that even the pants are wrinkled like he was sleeping on the couch on set and they woke him up for the shooting. Not sure if they decided to keep it on purpose but it seems unlikely that nobody noticed before the catalog went to print.
ReplyDelete30% in stores is final sale. I went over lunch but it was limited selection, nothing I wanted, although I did grabbed one blazer for my daughter and the manager was nice to make a note that I can return in 2 days if the size does not work out. Online I ordered Langford & Quorra Oxfords, if I like them I intend to keep one of them.
ReplyDeleteJcrew added the 30% but moved my pearl necklace, which was $29.99 back to full price $45.00. Not cool. Won't be tricked and buy all that leftover stuff!!!!
ReplyDeleteDo any of you ladies have the linen tie-back sweater? Curious about quality and sizing; I'm thinking of ordering the cinnamon spice along with another infinity cardi
ReplyDeleteI'm marinating on the strapless silk chiffon Cyndee dress for a Sept. wedding i have to attend...any reviews/opinions?
ReplyDeleteWent to the B&M at Easton in Columbus, Ohio and the sale stuff is an additional 30% off, but final sale. I was so annoyed that I didn't even try anything on. Oh, if anyone is looking for the Cecilia dress in white, it is on sale in many sizes for $99.
ReplyDeleteThere is one item I would really like but it doesn't meet the minimum for free shipping. I hate buying 'ride-alongs.'
ReplyDeletenewyork0311, that's crummy! I wish they wouldn't move items back and forth between regular price and sale price. Somehow a month or two ago the cobblestone Coddingtons were on sale and I think I was able to apply a %-off promo too, but then they were moved back to regular price and have remained since. Did the sale price and promo generate so much interest that they felt they should put them back to full price? Is it people making these decisions, or software (which is really people applying simplistic logic compared to what a brain can process).
ReplyDeleteFinal sale at the store. I also didn't get to try anything on bc I ran there during my lunch break. Hopefully the sizing will work out.
ReplyDeleteShannon
ReplyDeleteI reviewed it on my blog.
I loved the color, and the fabric is a really nice weight. It certainly isnt too heavy for summer and isn't too sheer.
I would suggest that it is prone to stretch a little throughout the day and it is a slouchy fit.
Hope that helps, let me know if you have any other questions.
Anyone shop the Vegas store today?
Just had another thought.
ReplyDeleteAs much as I don't like FS at least it is only in stores where you actually get to try the clothing on.
Madewell's current online final sale promo is so frustrating to me because I simply am not going to gamble on an item only to find out it doesn't fit.
I am just thankful for the courtesy to return an item I purchase online without trying it on before hand.
MeganCrew,
ReplyDeleteDid you (or anyone else) happen to try the linen tie back sweater in any of the lighter colors? Just wondering how see though they are. Thanks!
Hi Jackie,
ReplyDeleteI didn't and don't know of any other that have tried on lighter colors but I can't imagine them being sheer. The fabric is substantial enough that even in a light color I can't imagine it would be see through.
I was expecting this and pulled the trigger on it last night when the site refreshed to the new promo. I had my sale cart ready to go and checked out then went to bed. I ordered the windowpane trenchlet thanks to DaniBP's stellar review. Also picked up a couple of suiting pieces for me, a few shirts for my husband and a couple of other pieces.
ReplyDeleteWas happy to see the $100 minimum for free shipping, even though I easily surpassed it. With such a low threshold I may place another order if there is a restock.
Thank you, Gigi :)
ReplyDeleteOT: Is Blake Lively wearing the Gingham mini?
Anyone think there is a chance of a restock during the extra 30% off promo?
ReplyDeleteHello everyone! I've decided to create a blog of complete scans of old J. Crew catalogs for my use and everyone else's as well.
ReplyDeletehttp://thejcrewarchives.blogspot.com
So far I've uploaded the Feb 2008 catalog and will continue to upload more in coming days and weeks. I have all the 2010 catalogs, most of the 2009, and just a few from before then. I will be uploading the older ones first, so hopefully the longtime JC fans here will have something to enjoy looking at!
life as a cat,
ReplyDeleteWow. Your hard work is greatly appreciated by me. Thanks so much. I have all catalogs 2002-7 and 2010-11 but am missing several of the years when I was overseas and only have a couple my sister saved from 2008 or 9.
life as a cat - Thank you so much for doing this! This is the first time I've seen any catalogs from early 2008. So many of my wish list items are in this one. *Sighs longingly.* :)
ReplyDeleteGenny - thanks! While I was doing the scanning (I stayed up late night scanning 3 of them), I realized why no one had done an archive of multiple catalogs before! I think it took an hour per catalog or so. I don't mind doing this at all as I have a lot of free time right now.
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like you have quite an impressive collection! I've bought some old catalogs from Ebay as I've only been a JC shopper since 2010. If you ever feel like scanning your catalogs I could move my sets so that ours are in the same place for a complete collection. Or if you want to let me borrow yours and do the scanning I'd be alright with that too!
life as a cat and genny, what an incredible enterprise! what a wonderful community this is!
ReplyDelete@ AppGal: It looks like the gingham mini on Blake Lively, but the J Crew version has a different waistband. Maybe she pulled up the waistband and rolled it so it's even shorter??
ReplyDeleteAnd happy birthday to you!
No shopping for me. Am Crew-ed out for now.
Wow, the catalogs! Life as a cat, I'd be willing to donate to your cause. I know that's a lot of work to do all of those scans and make them available! You should put a "donate" button on your blog and take PayPal. Not kidding!
ReplyDeleteEma, I had to laugh about your post about the wrinkled outfit on p. 118. I just grabbed my catalog and looked, and sure enough! The tee is "broken in". Maybe it should have been labeled "slept in". :)
I am eternally optimistic and will get up early tomorrow morning praying for a significant update. To my fellow sale section stalkers, see you there! :)
Oh no, who was it who liked those cute patent peep-toe mary janes that are shown in Alexis' JCA Reviews thread image? I'm looking at life as a cat's Feb 2008 catalog and there they are, in yellow, and the other colors are noted below. :) And funny too that just before I got to that picture I was thinking that I might come across some item I wish I'd bought.
ReplyDeleteLol Tamara I took your advice just for kicks! We'll see how this goes!
ReplyDeletelife as a cat, thank you!
ReplyDeleteThe update this morning wasn't bad. I was right there when it happened, didn't find any of my target items but put a few other things into my cart, but in the ended closed my browser without buying anything. I can hardly believe I walked away from the suede Collins now that they're only $70. Is my shoe binge coming to an end?? I have both colors of the leather Collins and also the mossy oak suede. Now I'm considering dusty cedar. I'll probably buy them if I find something else to buy.
Speaking of the mossy oak Collins, I see they are still available in many sizes. That is my current shoe best buy recommendation. I love mine! The color is really beautiful. Even though it's a non-neutral, it functions very well as a neutral. It was this picture that inspired me to buy them.
Tamara, I know! Does Jcrew profit so much by moving merchandise back and forth? I can understand temporary promotions, but to mive to final sale and then back to full price? They have got too much time in their hands ti play these games!!!
ReplyDeleteIt was probably me with the lusting after the 2008 mary janes in all their incarnations - patent, spectator, half calf. Sigh...
ReplyDeleteOh my, now the mossy oak Collins suede are definitely my recommended shoe best buy! The price dropped this morning to only $79.99, and after the 30% promo that comes out to only $59.99! I already have mossy oak, I considered buying the dusty cedar, I don't know.
ReplyDeletePretty good update this morning. Quite a few oldies popbacks, drop in prices for a few items, I think some of you will be very happy today.
