This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)
If you are stopping by a J.Crew store this weekend to see what's available (if anything!) in the SPRING sale, or to see some new SUMMER arrivals {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!
Also, please let us know if your local store is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)
P.S. I noticed that many of you have already been reporting sale items (and in which stores) in other posts which by the way "thank you!" :) I really appreciate how helpful we are for each other!

ReplyDeleteIf anyone sees the Summerlong sweater in store, could you please report back on quality, fit? I ordered this but it was not included with the rest of the order that arrived yesterday. CS is sending me a replacement but I am really curious about it.
ReplyDeleteTIA
I've had my eye on a few things and may go look...
ReplyDeleteThe linen cami is on sale for $49 maybe? The beatrice blouse is $69 in store not $99 like online.
ReplyDeleteTrouper Pant 9.99 in store, how on earth can you pass that up?
ReplyDeleteThe Amory Floral Castaway Dress is on sale (super-sale, in my opinion) at the local J. Crew Factory (Potomac Mills). I thought it was a cute dress in their sale section and figured I would try it on...
ReplyDeleteThen I noticed it was missing the double diamonds and asked the manager about it and she said she didn't know if it was factory or retail, but she did know that it had just been marked down.
I think I got it for 35 minus 40%? I believe that makes it around $20, which is more than fair for a cute summer dress made of cotton/linen.
I took it in a size 6, which is tts for me in casual J. Crew dresses.
I may be able to get this on blogger tonight...if blogger can keep its act together. LOL. :)
I went last weekend, so I don't have any plans of going again this weekend. I'm looking forward to hearing from other JCAs about their trips though. :)
ReplyDeleteOT (guess I should add to the review thread): I own a zillion of the scoop tees and received two more today. Disappointed to see that the colors were not as depicted. Rather than being a bright, true orange, the "Athletic Orange" is more of an autumn pumpkin/rust color, closest to the depiction in the perfect polo. "Hampton Yellow" is not the lemony-buttery color in the photo but rather more of a French's mustard bright gold. I know that every monitor is different but I checked these out from a couple of different monitors and feel that the color is really off.

ReplyDeleteWFF, I love that Secretary blouse ! I can't wait for your review if you get to try it on. Our store does not sell Collection items. :( Also, I bought the silky skirt in the teaberry pattern, the Soiree. I used my rewards card. It is silk with a poly lining. I was able to wear the 6 but got the 8 just to be able to wear it lower on the hips. If you are shorter than 5'10" it should not be too short. Have fun shopping !
ReplyDeletei will, but to make returns. i got the eyelet derby dress in jade. i LOVE the color and LOVE the skirt, but the top has this weird flap of fabric. maybe it's supposed to be on the inside? in any event, it makes the top look boxy, not at all like it's in the picture online. i wonder if i got a defect. SO sad.
ReplyDeletei also got the cecilia dress and it hits just below my knees, which is a length i can't stand. i'm 5'6and didn't think it would be that long.

ReplyDeleteIf anyone is in Seattle, the University Village Mall is doing a weekend-long charity shopping event: give a $25 donation to Fred Hutchinson cancer research and get %20 of all purchases at all participating stores all weekend (including J.Crew, Banana, Antropologie, etc.). As far as I know, J.Crew hasn't done any exlcusions of things that can't be included in the sale
ReplyDeleteKendra, that "flap" is not a defect on the Derby dress. I tried it in white in the store. I love the bottom of that dress. It did not work out for me either. :(
ReplyDeletethanks shekster. why would they do that? makes it so unflattering and boxy in the top. grumble.
ReplyDeleteKimi, Thank you for the heads up on University Village. They don't carry as much as Pacific Place does but I might make the trip just to support J. Crew's participation. I checked the list and stores like Pottery Barn/Williams Sonoma don't seem to be.
ReplyDeleteAll katie camis are 19.99 (picked one up in white), downtown skinny jeans in the darker denim are 69.99, the sweatshirt tee is 29.99, some of the v-neck tees are 24.99 (too sheer for me for summer), swoop tees are 24.99 (picked one up in smoldering brick), navy ikat tank is marked down (maybe 29.99?)and summerweight shorts are $10 off (picked these up in plum orchard). Lots of sale items! I love the leslie lace shell, but will wait for a good sale price. My PS told me a small rollout is scheduled for Tuesday.
ReplyDelete@math teacher: i'd like to ask u, what is the small rollout as mentioned in ur post?
ReplyDeleteJcee Tomato, I don't know what the rollout consists of, only that there will be a small one for women. My PS just told me new items would be out on Tuesday and that it was a small rollout.
ReplyDeleteJust came back from Lake Grove - they are still having 30% off sale items, albeit final sale. Grab the springlily perfect shirt. Price discrepancies I noticed: Schoolboy blazer in madras is $49.99 in store + 30%. Schoolboy blazer in canvas is $39.99 + 30%. HTH!
ReplyDeletePansy- Not sure if that was a typo about the schoolboy in canvas b/c I just called the store and she said it is $79.99. I was totally going to buy it if it was 39.99.
ReplyDelete@anything-but-full-price: I did see 2 schoolboy jackets in a light beige that was marked down to $39.99. Talk to Mary (my SA) and see if she knows what it was - I didn't write down the item no - sorry.
ReplyDeleteanything_but_full_price - The person that does markdowns doesn't always hit every tag. Sometimes an item will get marked down and the store won't show it as such. However, if you take the ticket to the counter to be scanned, the lowest sale price shows. I would ask them to scan it to see if it's lower than what the ticket says.
ReplyDeleteI think there is a discrepancy between online n The store. I find the same merchandise costs more online than in store... However, it's so convenient to shop online though, if shipping is complementary.
ReplyDeleteStopped in today on my way through town, but there wasn't much that caught my eye. Tried on the Seersucker pencil skirt in the only size they had left...a 2. It was too tight so would take my normal size. I really liked it...looked much better in person. The exposed zipper didn't bother me. As I was walking out of the store with nothing in my hand, a table of the new linen tees caught my eye and I ended up getting one in a really pretty orange color (the one color tee I don't have). The texture is great and the colors really saturated. Size down on these; they run big. They were on special for $24.50.
ReplyDeleteI'm feeling very underwhelmed at the moment in JC offerings. But I did get this fabulous camo-patterned studded clutch bag that I'll expand on in the reviews post next week. Back to the store stuff. I went in today to make a return. I picked up some short-sleeved perfect t-shirts for $14.50 each. There was no 30% off at my store, and hearing that it was still on in other stores makes me glad I didn't pick anything up in the sales section.
ReplyDeleteAgree with other posters about prices on tag not always being correctly marked. Had a friend hold a jacket in store in NY for me and it said $99 on the tag but it was actually $49 when the clerk rang it up as I expected it to be; that is why I think it was still sitting in the sale section and I got lucky!
