Weekly Share: Other JCrew-like Retailers

This is the weekly "Other JCrew-like Retailers" post (similar to the "Off On A Tangent" posts), where we can share our finds from other retailers that have offerings similar to J.Crew (like LE Canvas, Gap, BR, Talbots, Ann Taylor, and the like.)

If you have recently encountered items that are similar to J.Crew, maybe you might be willing to share that information with us in this post.

Please feel free to share your story on almost any topic— including experiences with certain merchandise pieces, promotions/ offers, in-store visits, transactions with store associates, etc.

  1. I bought some swimsuits to try out from Lands End. I've bought them in previous years and they're great. Right now, all swim wear is 25% off at LE.

  2. I love the new poet top from Talbots. I sized down a lot because I can't do off-the-shoulder and it's so cute in the green color with skinny jeans. I plan to wear it this summer with white cafe capris and metallic flats. The fabric is not paper thin which I really appreciate!

  3. Jruby18,

I used to live near a Lands End outlet and each May they had a week where all suits were $20. I would always buy 3-4. Great suits overall. Only had one fade and fall apart quickly over the years.

  4. Slightly off-topic here, but I've just had it with cotton cardigans. Today I'm wearing an Eddie Bauer cotton-cashmere classic cardigan in light aqua. Really cute, shaped to the body, nice trim sleeves, little pockets in the front, but on this warm humid day here in Chicago it feels soggy! And only an hour into my work day it's already looking wrinkled. And it has a little bit of Lycra in it, though I can't tell. I need to stick to merino from now on. Nobody beats J Crew for the lightweight merinos ... Jenna, Cielo, and the older Marzipan and Tartine. I used to like the Jackie but the last few I got were so limp, I won't even buy the Jackies any more. Merino all the way from now on.

  5. last day for shopbop's 15% sale, use code INTHEFAM15

also, bloomingdales is having their spring shoe sale.

  6. New York & Company had some really lovely, silky ruffled shells. Unfortunately none of them were cut for petite torsos.

  7. I did a review of some items from Kohl's Vera Wang and Lauren Conrad lines.
