J.Crew Spotted in Lucky Magazine

A big "thanks!" to Kate (of the amazing Moodboard blog), who not only let us know about a few J.Crew items being spotted in the latest issue of Lucky Magazine, but also scanned the images for us to view! (Click on the image to see it larger.)

The first item is a silk striped dress for what I believe reads $148.00. Although the dress is cute in its simplicity, not sure why the price tag is so high.

The second item is the Satin Invitation Clutch (Item 33402; $88.00) in the Dark Poppy shade. This clutch is super cute and the zipper opening along the top edge is a nice touch.

What are your thoughts on the pieces from J.Crew? Do you like the style of the dress? Are you a fan of the Satin Invitation Clutch?

  1. That silk dress is not for me. Nothing else there really catches my eye but I can't read the copy well enough to read the descriptions so maybe I'm missing something.

I am pretty excited to get the About Town t-shirt dress, especially since silver_lining gave it a good review. :^) Won't be here in time to put a review up this week but next week I should have a post with IRL photos on my blog.

  2. Seems like stripes is the new ruffles. I am going to stop purchasing them before the trend tired themselves out.

  3. Pansy, ITA about stripes as the new ruffles. Throw gingham in there too, IMO. I don't have much of either in my wardrobe and I'm really limiting the number of pieces I buy in either pattern. In reality these are basic patterns that you could wear anytime but there is just so much of it, everywhere, on everyone, it's becoming overload.

  4. I'm not a fan of that entire page. :) They look like inexpensive summer bum-around dresses, but almost all are done in high maintenance unforgiving silks.

Is that zipper going around the corner on the Invitation clutch hard to manipulate? My experience with zippers going around corners is not so good.

  5. Speaking of strips, polka dots, ruffles, and flowers, I wonder what the trendy motif will be for fall.

  6. How long did the ruffles last? I fear we are going to be stuck with stripes everywhere for a long time. I hope the Fall rollout has more color.
