  1. I want to try the new perfect fit polos so will pick up a couple with this promo. I have some older, very similar tee-knit polos that J.Crew made a few years ago and I love them. This was prior to the big quality decline so I don't expect the new ones to be as thick but I want to give them a try. I'm sure I'll find something else worth trying that will add up to $150. A pencil skirt perhaps? LOL

  2. I need a 20% off dresses. Wish J. Crew did those lunch time sales like Talbots does. I didn't get a code in my catalogue and I NEED the Jane dress. Tees I've got until heck won't have them.

  3. I really like the mixed-tape cardigans so I may pick up one or two. Of course, I haven't laundered mine yet - so maybe I should hold off until I see how they look after a spin in the washer.

  4. silver_lining, I have washed my mixed-tape cardigans, some of them several times. They have held up well although the tape on the placket and pockets sometimes curls up and needs a bit of a steam. I try to take them out of the dryer while still damp and lay them flat, pressing the tape flat with my fingers. That helps and they dry fast.

I do recall reading that some others had found holes after washing so I'm a bit more careful with them now. I really love these.

  5. Are there any tees that people really, super like? I don't like their vintage slub or vintage cotton. In fact I have (2) Raglan Babydoll Tees that I have never worn and should sell.

  6. saw Featherknit Tank, #43805, in B&M yesterday. Not worth the full price; not sure it's worth the promo price either. oh well...

  7. Has anyone ever seen sale section updates in the middle of the day? I've only seen them at midnight ET and early in the morning. Just wondering if I should even bother to check mid-day.

By the way, I configured Google alerts so I'd be emailed when the product pages update for my target items, but they didn't work. I'm guessing it's due to the way the pages are coded and the transition from being sold out to having any sizes available doesn't actually update the page I'm watching. Or maybe Google alerts just don't work. :)

  8. I don't really need any knits and tees, so I doubt I will get anything. I got the lace-over tank I wanted in the store last week and love it.

tamara, Google alerts work just fine. I get them for certain items I am monitoring for work. Maybe JC is the problem. :)

  9. tamara - I think it's the JC site, not Google. I don't code, but based on what I've tried to figure out just by watching...I think the restock items end up w/new URLs.

  10. One of the st. james tees is on the promo!!! That will be hard to resist. Also might stock up on the long-sleeve tissue crewnecks in white and black--a great basic for my climate.

  11. Pathos, I still like the perfect fit tees, even with the change to a slightly thinner fabric. The boatneck and v necks are my favorites.

I've been thinking of trying the swoop neck and vintage cotton lace tee. I'd love to know if anyone's tried them and what you think.

  12. gigi, thanks for the info. If I came up with a way to detect popbacks and generate emails, how many people do you think would be interested? This is my quest. :) Unless someone has a method already, in which case I want to know! Then I won't have to get up at ungodly hours again unless there's something there for me to buy. It's bad enough in the central time zone, I feel bad for people farther west.

  13. Just want to add I think it's kind of interesting that some items in the sale section aren't categorized, like the velvet Rubys. The shimmer tweed version is in the blazers section, but the velvets aren't, and the only way I've been able to see them is to look through the entire sale section, not the individual categories. I swear I had the same issue with some shoes/boots. Also odd, the tall velvet Ruby never shows up as an individual item in the sale section like the other tall items, you have to go directly to it via product search or bookmark.

  14. One more thing (sorry for hogging the thread): do the men's shoes ever go on sale? My husband is developing an attraction to J Crew men's shoes. (Uh oh! Both of us addicts? This could be bad!)

  15. I really like the pier stripe sweatshirt. Took my normal XS (the material doesn't give much so sizing down was too tight). I might have to bite on that one... still pretty pricey for a glorified t-shirt however...

  16. Nothing for me today -- still wondering if my 2 uber-popbacks from yesterday will ship ... dundundunnnnnnnnn.

  17. I need a 20 percent off shorts. My eye is on the paisley bermudas. Why, oh why, can't J. Crew just give us a 20 percent off the whole order a la Banana? Curses.

Just to let all y'all know, I bought the lace over tank when it first came out, and I love it!!! But, I'm kind of obsessed with lace right now.

Any feedback on the scallop lace shell? Also, the whisper linen boatneck looks cute, but is it super see-through?

  18. I agree with Desert FLower. I need one for dresses -- I'm dying to get the Derby eyelet dress in jade and the Cecilia in the blue.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Hopefully soon, Elaine! The two things I ordered yesterday were still showing "Open" just a couple of hours ago but now show "Shipped" with tracking numbers.

    ReplyDelete
  20. I did take advantage of the tee sale but I also used the free shipping code you posted yesterday -- thanks! I got some cheaper tees but didn't have to fulfill the $150 minimum! That worked out to be a better deal for my pocket :)

  21. Susan, I love the lace scallop tank! I got my regular size and didn't size down as I usually do with tanks and it fits perfectly. Someone was bothered by the fact that the non lace part is slub cotton but personally I like it like this, it is very summery. However it went on sale in stores in all the colors so maybe you could call around before ordering online.
The linen boatneck is cute but VERY sheer and even a little bit scratchy IMO. HTH!

  22. I love the Perfect Fit Tees, all the styles, I practically live in them. The slightly thinner fabric actually work better for me because I layer so much. They are comfortable and have a flattering slim fit. Maybe I am just used to them because I don't really wear any others, but I've never found another brand I like so well. Personally I have never cared much for the J. Crew slub fabric, I can barely get it home from the store without developing holes in it, though many of the embellished tees are slub and I overlook it for the designs I like.

I might try the scoop necks in new colors w this promo.

  23. Has anyone tried the finespun drape tank?

  24. Wow, substantial update at 6:10am EDT, lots of popbacks and new items too. Shoe section blossomed from 83 items to 135! I didn't find what I was looking for but it was nice to see it when it happened so I could have first dibs. :)

    ReplyDelete
  25. I really wish there was an extra % off sale items! I have 5 pairs of shoes now in my basket, but I get myself to pull the trigger without the extra savings :(

    ReplyDelete
  26. The current promo expires at the end of the day Thursday, so do you think Friday would be the earliest possibility for a new promo? Have they ever run two different promos at one time?

    ReplyDelete
  27. BTW, what's up with the suede Coddingtons? Did the red dusk pop back and someone snatched it immediately, and that's why there's a price of $159.99 for certain colors but no colors are present at that price? Or is that preparation for something to show up there? Same with the leather Coddingtons.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Tamara
What size are you? I have the olive and red dust Coddingtons in an 8.5 and they are way way too small. I was going to return them to the store, but if you want them...I would be happy to send them your way!

    ReplyDelete
  29. Aw, I'm a 7, I would definitely buy them from you if they were my size! I like those colors a lot.

  30. I noticed that J Crew fixed the tall Velvet Ruby page so it now shows up when you search through the entire sale section, like the petite does. But still missing is the regular. You can get to it through the tall page, or if you do a product search on Ruby, but you can't see it just paging through the sale section. There are lots of smaller sizes available right now, and multiple colors for a few of them.

I guess I'll be getting up early tomorrow, but I think I'll do 5am CDT instead of 4:30. These updates are great, I feel another one comin' on. :) Are the stores returning all of their unsold stock or something?

  33. Off topic ... does anyone know the name of the plaid in the Fireside Mini? Is it a particular tartan or just some random plaid? I like it a lot, can't do a mini but I'd like to find the fabric and make my own skirt. So far I haven't been able to ID it.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Interesting, while searching for the plaid I came across a web site which apparently offers costume rentals, including what they describe as 50s and 60s skirts. If you're a midi fan, you might like some of them.

  36. Maritime Striped Hoodie (37225) is part of the promo...in store it was already marked down to $49.99 (vs. $62 online), so it was a nice deal at ~$39. took my regular size even though I could have sized down because I want to wear l/s tees and didn't want tight arms. Love the way it looks (kind of boyish) and it's very cozy!

  37. The Chambray Dorrie went on sale today, and there is only 00 left. You're telling me this thing sold out in one day? ^..^

    ReplyDelete
  38. Stopped very quickly at B&M. I didn't notice major differences besides 1) Chambray Dorrie not on sale in stores and 2) Bahia hobo (the straw one) on sale foe $39.99 in both colors.
Marled lace-up hoodie is finally on sale in store too and because of the knits promo is $39.99 -20% off.

  40. Dear J Crew, please have another great update tomorrow because I am getting up early. 6am EDT is a good time for me. Thanks. :)

    ReplyDelete
  41. I was on the web site at like 4:50am CDT and the update had already occurred, I'm wondering when it happened. Nice update, but once again I left without buying anything. Still waiting for my target items. The current promo ends tonight, anyone else have a feeling a new sale section promo will start? Maybe a final sale. Ahhh, the regular sale was nice while it lasted.

The regular Ruby is still not showing up in the sale section as an independent item like the petite or tall Rubys. You have to either get to it through the other Ruby pages or you have to explicitly search for "Ruby". There are still lots of smaller sizes left, I wonder if that's why.
