"Thanks!" to many of you, including J.CrewJD & Naomi (in this post), GigiOfCA (in this post), as well as Ketan, who shared the following update from J.Crew this morning.
J.Crew is offering customers 30% off all final sale items (no min) and free shipping on $150+ with promo code LOVEIT. This offer expires Thursday, March 31, 2011.
The Final Sale section (click here to shop online) also had a pretty good update yesterday morning. Hopefully some of you JCAs are able to get some fabulous finds!
It's also nice to see that after last week's "Final Sale Back at Stores {plus 30% off}" post, online is now offering the additional percent off. Yey! :)
Will you be checking out the Sale section? Are there any items you are hoping to see or to get? Does your local B&M have "final sale" as well?
Rise and shine! I did see the Sunday morning update. Tere's no Monday update yet....
ReplyDeleteThere's a few things I'm on the fence about ordering but not enough to click through to purchase.
But no update this morning :(

ReplyDeleteAck - saw the 30% off promo this morning and I had just ordered the Lulu Frost modern deco blizzard bracelet on Saturday!! I got on the phone asap and the CS rep was nice enough to apply the 30% off to my order. Sigh. This is starting to get on my nerves, having to check the computer every morning!

ReplyDeleteDid anyone else wake up early especially for the update? Like roll out of bed in the depths of the night, rub their eyes a little, then GASP no update! :D

Louise, I'm so happy that you got your 30% off. I bought Gibson heels yesterday at $199, I hope I can get the promo too.
ReplyDeleteI'm proud of myself this morning, after my shoe binge of the prior two months I had the Collins suede peep toes in my shopping cart, and I actually decided to not buy them. I'll take my chance that there will be a further price reduction and another promo. I'm actually surprised they haven't sold out in some sizes, especially after the last promo.

ReplyDeleteI am stalking an item from the holiday collection. If it pops back I will bite, otherwise I prefer to wait for further markdowns in store.
ReplyDeleteI had one thing in my cart I really wanted, but it vanished, so I'm debating the other 2 items: The Torch Orange Lady Day coat and the lace pencil skirt.
ReplyDeleteNo FS for me this round. I have a few orders, including a large Madewell sale order arriving today. I plan to shop at my favorite local boutiques the next couple of weeks instead.
ReplyDeleteI bought 3 items on Sunday (the mona dress in sz 0, sundrine dress in sz 0, and a t-shirt). Used a free shipping promo for that order, so that wasn't too bad.
ReplyDeleteThen I saw the extra 30% this morning. Grrr. However, talked to a salesperson through their online chat and she was able to not only give me the 30% off, AND I still got the free shipping.
Win!
I just realized now I have to get up early tomorrow to check for popbacks, since there didn't seem to be any this morning and the promo will still be in effect.
ReplyDeleteI wonder if my resolve to not buy the Collins will last throughout the day. I don't know what it is about their shoes, but they have this voodoo effect on me. :)
Ordered some stuff on 25, contacted CS and they applied 30% promo. Ohh Happy Monday.
ReplyDeleteI saw the promo after midnight, so I woke up after 5 to snatch some stuff...but yes of course no update. Thanks J Crew! hahah
I ordered a few skirts and a bracelet, with the 30% off they came out to very reasonable prices. :-)
ReplyDeletei knew this was going to happen! i put in an order for the Saturday Sweater in marled pulp alabaster not even 12 hours ago because it was a popback and i really wanted it. i even said to my husband, i bet there is going to be an extra sale soon but last time i waited it was gone. low and behold!
ReplyDeletei know it's only $12 but it is the principle of the matter. i called CS and they credited it back as a "one time only courtesy".
A lot of the items in the Final Sale are not final - for instance, the Tulip Cami, the Everly Cardigan, and the whip-snake belt all came out NOT final sale for me. Cool!

ReplyDeleteI was just denied being able to return a pair of shorts I had ordered for my son that were Final Sale. They are too small. I usually don't return items, so I am surprised they are not allowing me. If you think about it, it is so unreasonable to make a customer keep a pair of shorts that are too small for her one child--what is she going to do with them?
ReplyDeleteMy relation with JC is turning...
I posted the shorts on the weekly selling exchange.
ReplyDeleteI tried 3 different CS and they all were firm on not allowing returns of FS items. This is a change, they used to allow one time courtesy. I would be careful of buying FS from now on.
Has anyone been able to combine the extra percent off sale offered in store with the Mickey card 20%? Just curious. As far as I know, no stores near me are running the extra percent off sale on marked down merchandise.
ReplyDeleteTalk about a day late and a dollar short. I spent my money this weekend at LEC, BR and Gravity Pope. That and there's nothing I had to have to risk FS. When is Spring Sale (not FS) coming back?
ReplyDeleteStaciStaci, Even though an item is not coming up as FS, it may actually be if the price ends in .99 I also order the Tulip Cami, and believe it's FS. I surprised it went on sale that quickly, and I can't believe I scored it for $34.
ReplyDeleteYou know you have to much in your closet when you keep going back to the store to buy more hangers. I really bought at a minimum last night. As-in I filled my cart, then only ordered the items I really-really wanted. Killed me to remove the Colletta Coat in NightFall Blue for $70.
Pathos: I hear you! J.crew used to let customers return FS from time to time, but recently it became a mission impossible for any exceptions to be made..I was just denied an adjustment (bought a lot yesterday without 30%), but the CS rep refused to credit blaming it on the "system". I guess I am being penalized because I want quality items for reasonable prices...
ReplyDeletepathos,
ReplyDeleteif the shorts don't fit like the size it says, it's defective. I once ordered sz 10 pants for my daughter, and they were smaller than sz 8 (also from crewcuts). I showed both pairs and the SA took them back.
Take a comparison picture of them and email to the one of CS or their supervisor (CC mickey Drexler) if you don't live near a B&M.
After your talk with 3 CS, I bet they put a note on your profile that "you were trying so many times to return final sale"
It happened to me before, and I completely stopped buying final sale.
StaciStaci,
ReplyDeleteI know you are just trying to be helpful but comments like you made will be used against us shoppers who want to buy from JCrew just now final sale. By the end of the day JCrew will take note of your comment and the items likely will be final sale. Also, clerks at the stores know that items ending in .99 are final sale regardless of how they may appear online. I suggest deleting your fun find comment:) Not trying to be mean just been around the block here at the JCA blog to know thing come back to "bite us in the but". Sorry, but true.
subscribing
ReplyDeleteWolfy and Genny are right, sale prices ending in .99 are considered to be final sale regardless of whether the red text shows up or not. Other prices ending in .50 are considered to be "on promotion" and even though the extra30 discount applies they are not considered final sale. The policy was explained to me exactly like that by my helpful online PS.
ReplyDeleteJust to clarify, the prices ending in .50 will not become .99 once the extra discount is applied so they are not considered final sale.
ReplyDeleteI don't believe I am giving away any secrets here since this is J.Crew policy as explained to me but if someone feels that I am then let me know and I will delete my comments.
minzunuami, the answer is yes to your question... how disappointing!
ReplyDeleteBTW, Lockwood hobo doesn't show in the sale section, but you can search by name or go through the regular section to find it. I ordered it last week with my 20% coupon. Wish I had waited. Oh well! Live and learn.
No, you guys are doing great explaining the policy. This "should" not be any secret. If you go into the store, the CS should explain it as well. It would behoove us all to know this before we buy and get a surprise at the check-out counter.

ReplyDeleteare you serious? I doubt JC corporate is trolling the web searching for comments that I make about something not showing up as "final sale" when I checkout. I'll be sure and double check my invoice when the order comes in but I'm not deleting a comment in case the BIG BROTHER of J.Crew thinks I figured out some loophole.
ReplyDeleteJi-thanks for pointing that out. I put a pair of size 4/5 up to them, and these size 6 shorts are exactly the same size. No wonder they were too small for him. I might take them into a B&M if no one wants them off the exchange board. they are super cute-hate to bring them back !
ReplyDeleteOH Staci Staci,
ReplyDeleteI am very serious. You have a lot to learn from us JCA's that have been around this blog since Day 1. I know there are a lot of them that would back me up on this one. Yes, they do notice and look at this blog in detail:) or should that be:(

ReplyDeleteWe should be vigilant yes, but deleting a comment about an common error that almost always gets noticed by CS during returns is not necessary IMO. I can't think of anything they could do to negatively impact us, just b/c someone pointed out this error. Again, this error will be corrected when a CS scans the item or looks at the price (.99). No harm done, except not informing our fellow JCAs. Just my .02.
ReplyDeleteHas anyone bought the studded salina canvas sandal? thoughts?
ReplyDeleteHello ladies. I see where a conversation thread may be heading and thought I would re-post what I wrote a few weeks ago...
ReplyDeleteI know some of you would like me to delete certain comments. I find it is a lose-lose situation for a variety of reasons.
Instead of that route, I try to contact the user directly and politely explain the situation or quickly move on from it altogether. Honestly, sometimes the latter works the best. If we don't draw that much attention to it, and I upload more posts, the thread gets overlooked for the newer ones.
I *love* how helpful we are with fashion advice, styling, and shopping tips- it really is the main reason why this blog rocks. It frustrates me when I see J.Crew take that useful information to eliminate or remove (and unfortunately, J.Crew has done just that in the past). However, I also do not want to discourage the practice of JCAs sharing (especially those new to the blog).
It's a tough situation, a double edge sword of sorts. Hopefully we can help each other in a careful & thoughtful way. :)
P.S. Thanks to all JCAs for being kind to share! :)
sigh... I just bought the Shelby dress this weekend with the Mickey card. In addition to spending $300 on stuff at JCrew the week before getting the Mickey card! ugg I hate it when this happens!
ReplyDeleteThey got me again! I hadn't trolled the sale section in awhile, and actually found some things that I had liked full price, but wasn't willing to pay full price. So the sale price plus the 30% off was too good to pass up!
ReplyDeleteShoot . .there goes my shopping hiatus! :)
Back from B&M and picked up a few things. They had the Tulip Cami left in my size in the pretty blue -- $50 plus the 20% off (final sale). The striped button-back tees are priced now at $25, plus the 20% off sale. Also, the Scallop Lace Shell was $29.99 plus the 20%. They definitely will not apply the Mickey card on top of the sale price. Also, PS said that not all stores will be having the extra 20%.
ReplyDeleteAs I like to say, JCAs don't shop final sale with out the links to irl pics. Good luck and may your popbacks pop back.
ReplyDeleteUh, JC is back to 1.5% on Ebates. Hmm is all I'll say to that.
ReplyDeleteWolfy - I saw the flip. I knew it would change as of today given JC's promo.
ReplyDeleteTysons in VA def does not have 20% additional off. But I did see the Delaney eyelet skirt there for $39.99.
ReplyDeleteHas anyone ordered the Shelby dress in the dusty pink? I've not seen that color in stores and am interested.
ReplyDeleteGigi,
ReplyDeleteI have no doubt it was changed in response to today's promo. I've never seen a store so on top of their promos, that they ensure their rebate is changed that quickly. That's evidence enough that they probably have a whole team dedicated to reading the internet & blogs regarding their company. Big Brother indeed.
Like some others here I called to see if something I bought on sale last Thursday could be adjusted with the 30% off, and they were nice enough to do it. Was pleasantly surprised because they had refused to do it for me before.
ReplyDeleteOn the other hand, the couple of things I really want are all full price. So I'll probably wait this promotion out.
j.crew at houston have extra 20% off sales items. lots of stuff but none interested me.
ReplyDeleteI asked for an adjustment on my order yesterday and was denied. I wish J Crew would be consistent in their customer service.
ReplyDeleteKDot, I think they keep track -- last time I placed a big order the day before extra 30, when I called they made a big stink about doing the adjustment as a "one-time courtesy" . ... I bet if I tried again, they'd say no. Guess I already used my 'get out of jail free' card! lol.
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteBut the fact remains that the final sale secret that so many of of us lament being gone would likely still be in effect if people had not made "innocent" posts on this blog.
ReplyDeleteI really wish for those posts to have been removed. One reason my shopping at JCrew has gone down to next to nothing....
I know silver_linging has commented on this as well as many other old JCA's.
So I no longer share any secrets I may find unless it is directly to a friend's email.
I too got my adjustment for the order I placed on Sunday. I had also placed an order on Saturday (or maybe it was Friday night) but did not ask for an adjustment on that order. That's the first time I've ever requested that a promo be applied to a past order. And I've been ordering quite a bit from J Crew lately. I suspect these things have something to do with it. I know they review your order history, the CS rep suggested I check into the credit card. :)
ReplyDeleteWolfy, had to laugh about your hangers comment. I need to order more shoes boxes! (I buy the clear plastic ones from Container Store, good thing they're cheap!)
No update as of 7:02AM EDT... unless maybe a VERY ravenous popback hunting-gathering crew has already been through?
ReplyDeleteI'm going back to bed. :)
ReplyDeleteNo update today J Crew? Really? You do the promo and expect us to shop through those odd and ends! Wishful thinking. Woke up again today at 5! and nothing.
ReplyDeleteI noticed some sizing updates - like the tulip cami has size 4-12 now when it was 8-12 yesterday. But no additional items per say.
ReplyDeleteLooking at the Sailor Sweater. Size wise--it is really big and boxy? TIA!
ReplyDeletepathos,
ReplyDeleteI think the sailor sweater is a little loose (as it's meant to be), but you don't necessarily have to size down. I'm petite, so usually when items are too loose they look horrible on me. However, I found my usual XS in the sailor sweater is just the right amount oversized.
I wasn't stalking anything, just perusing out of boredom, reminiscing about better shopping days when I caught the Irena Gladiator Sandals for $63 smackers. For that price I can deal w/triple buckles.
ReplyDeletepathos - Irl pics of the sailor sweater in this post.
ReplyDeleteI guess I'll get up early again tomorrow. There are 3 things that I really really really want. I don't think I've ever seen so few items in the sale section as there are now! At 90 per page, the women's items only take up 6 pages. C'mon popbacks!
ReplyDeletePromo priced items listed in this post.
ReplyDeleteGigi-why do I always forget? Thanks!
ReplyDeleteIndigo-stripe Boatneck sailor tee.
ReplyDeleteitem 36217
Does anyone own this? I think it's so cute and spot on with the "nautical" theme of today but it has been in stock in every size for forever!
Would love ANY reviews!
TIA!
Looks like the update started earlier than normal today. I have been stalking the Wool origami sheath dress in a size 2 in heather elm and was able to snag it a couple of minutes ago for $69.
ReplyDeleteSo very happy!!!!!!
Good morning! Happy day! :) Liberty bouquet dress popped back (37356) and the safari shirtdress is a bargain at $40 before markdowns (39763)
ReplyDeleteThe Merino Edrina dress is now on sale in all colors. Got this one, and bit on the fence on whether I should also get the Safari Shirtdress.
