J.Crew Reviews {straight from the JCAs!}

This is the weekly "J.Crew Reviews {straight from the JCAs}" post, to help each other share our reviews.

So if you have recently purchased, or stopped by a J.Crew store to try on an item (or two) from J.Crew, maybe you might be willing to share that information with us in this post.

Also, this request is not just limited to clothes. Please feel free to discuss bags, shoes, jewelry, accessories, etc.

In particular, if you could mention a few of the noteworthy details like fit, size, fabric, and the like— that would be fantastic! Thanks in advance! :)

  1. I brought home the Gingham Mini a few days ago. Although it is full price still on-line, it is only $19.99 in-store. Honestly, it was a little short for me, but with the elastic waist, you could adjust it down. It was fully lined, so that added some volume. This one you can size down in! I got a 0, and usually do a 2 in minis.

The luxe baseball tee also made it into the bag, in the light grey/cream combo, which I don't see on-line. I love this slouchy tee, and will probably wear it all summer! It is an hugely oversized fit though, so again, size down! I got an XS in this one (for comparison, I wear a 4 in the perfect shirt)

Last but not least... the sun drenched sweatshirt in electric orange. This top was flying out of the store when I was there..... I saw 4 women buy one! It is a great shade of orange, and fits pretty true to size. I think you would want it to be oversized a bit. I bought a small, which is what I usually get in sweaters..

  2. at one point someone had asked about the Factory stripe flutter tee. I just received mine today and the fit is surprisingly cute.

It is made to fit loose on top but the sleeves fit normal, thus the "flutter" fit (you can tell I am having a hard time describing it). The flutter effect isn't huge, but just a little different than a typical tee. If you size up I am sure that it would flutter a little more. : ) The part I like the best is that the seams for the sleeves that create the flutter sleeve make a geometrical pattern since the stripes don't match up.

It was one of those you throw in to make the minimum but it is one of the only items I am keeping.

Mind you, it isn't the best made piece in the word but it is worth the 30% off $24.50.

It fits TTS, I wouldn't size down or up. I am typically an XS in JCrew Tees and that is the size I ordered.

also received the Factory rugby-stripe silk top.

Like was mentioned before, I wouldn't pay full price and the 30% off doesn't currently apply. It is a thinner silk that isn't as soft as most, but it does hang nicely and probably won't wrinkle so there is a benefit to cheap silk. It does fit TTS. I ordered both colors and the olive stripe is going back, the blue just stood out to me and was more flattering. It is just a personal preference I am sure.

  7. Where is sale section update???? I was restless last night thinking of all the things I was going to pick up this morning....I seriously have a J.Crew sickness

    ReplyDelete
  8. Hi~ The Maritime Hoodie is lovely. It is much heavier (nice sturdy and soft cotton) than the Striped Hoodie. There are two side zippers which is a nice touch.

I think it runs slightly big. I have a M and I'm deciding if I would like it a little more fitted in which I would size down, or to use as a sweatshirt.

    Curious what others think!
    hth!

  10. Can someone comment on whether you need to size up for the Lady Day coat or if it runs TTS. Thanks!

    ReplyDelete
  11. There's no guarantee that the sale section will be updated daily - and often, during a percent off promo they don't update it at all (or with very little). Speaking from experience, the massive update will likely occur the day after ther 30% off ends.

    ReplyDelete
  12. @Jruby - I had to size up in the lady day. It runs small in the chest imo.

    ReplyDelete
  13. @Jessie: I also bought Maritime dress (XS). When I saw it in the catalog I did not care for it. I did not even pick it to try on in the store. My PS suggested that I try and I ended up really liking it. It is very soft, but I would say it runs a bit big. Even my XS is a bit lose on me (I normally wear 0 dresses and XS tops and S sweaters). Highly recommend it though.

    ReplyDelete
  14. The lady day fits small. I normally wear petite 0 and the regular 0 was tight on the waist, can barely button it, although the sleeve length fits perfectly.

  19. Fishey5884: I tried on the Tuxedo Henley and it did run TTS in my opinion. I usually wear a small in sweaters and tees and the small fit me perfectly. Hope this helps =)

  23. I purchased the Eyelet Embroided Tank over the weekend and I love it. I bought the Baltic Blue - very pretty color IRL. I run between M and L in Jcrew tops, but the size M fit well in this one - not tight at all, so I would agree with Jacquelyn that it does run big. The L was huge on me. I didn't try on the other colors but the ivory did look sheer. The blue is not. I think it is a very cute top that can be layered under cardis/blazers and worn by itself when the weather gets warmer.

  24. Elizabeth in MO:

I own the Corsa tote in the medium brown color. The leather is great quality, IMO. It's soft and smooshy and thick. I've gotten several compliments on the bag. The leather is supposed to look "weathered" I believe, so I think that the bag will continue looking great even if it gets a bit battered.

I think it's worth full price (even though I used a gift cert. on it!). My only complaint is that I wish the straps were long enough to fit over my shoulder.

  26. Starfish28: THANKS so much! One quick question - do you find the Corsa "sturdy" enough to possibly put a book or two in it? I'm looking for a stylish tote bag to actually use as a true tote (i.e. for library trips, camera, etc). TIA!

    ReplyDelete
  27. JennyG, I'm glad the eyelet embroidered tank worked out for you. I think it does run big and would like to try it in the blue in a smaller size.

  28. The Madewell coupon has been claimed. :-)

  29. Elizabeth in MO:

I have carried a giant hardback book in my Corsa tote (a 900+ pager!) and had no issues. I don't think it would hold more than one large hardback like that, but definitely several smaller ones and a magazine or two. It is definitely a sturdy bag. It stands up on its own and doesn't flop over.

    HTH!

  30. Has anyone purchased the Traveler watch or any of the Timex watches from J Crew? I really want it, but I wanted to hear some opinions about it. How easy is it to change the watch strap?

    ReplyDelete
  31. has anyone purchased the super 120s suiting pieces? Specifically the nouvelle jacket and 1035 pants. How do they run? My PS sent me the POMs, which seem to indicate that I'd be ordering 1 or 2 sizes smaller than what I normally get, so I just wanted to see if anyone had any experience with it. How is the 120s suiting in general?

    ReplyDelete
  32. ginastorm: I have the black faced timex from J Crew and I love it. I have worn it kayaking in our river for months - never an issue! The strap is simple to change - can be done in a few seconds. The ladies traveler watch is very small faced and it doesn't mention anywhere on the front that it is water resistant. I have only seen it in the boxes and in the glass case at the store. It's just too small for my liking, reminds me of my first timex when I was a child though!

  33. starfish28:

THANKS SO MUCH!! I greatly appreciate you taking time to review the Corsa tote for me - I think I'll order one today! Thanks again! I really appreciate it. Have a wonderful day.

  34. Jruby I agree on sizing up in the Lady Day, esp. if you spring for the Thinsulate lining. I have a 38 bust but only a B-cup -- I originally bought a LD Thinsulate in an 8 and while I could technically button it, but it was uncomfortably tight. I went up to a 10 the next time around and it fits MUCH better, more normally I should say. HTHs, it's a gorgeous coat -- I bought the 'torch orange' color and people go crazy for it every time I wear it! :)

Oooh, my word verification is 'elated' ... indeed!

  37. maryse, I have the perfect fit henley tank in red. I think it is very cute, runs tts (which for me means not vanity sized). I took a small, but I've been taking an xs in most J Crew tanks. This one is just much more fitted. Someone commented on another post that it had an odd fit, but I think it is standard for the perfect fit tanks. I've ordered another in navy.

  38. anyone try on the katie eyelet cami or the sirah dress?

    ReplyDelete
  39. Jenny:

I have tried many of the Super 120's pieces and own one suit (pants plus jacket) in Super 120's. I have found the trousers to run small, especially compared to cords, jeans, and chinos from J. Crew. I had to size up, which was too big, and then I had to have them tailored down. I was actually amazed that one size could be tight and the next size up would be as big as it was.

A couple years later, I tried another pair of trousers in Super 120's and had the same issue where my regular size was too small. I am wondering if this is because the Super 120's trousers are not lined. The jacket I have found to run slightly small too. I am between two sizes in jackets and took my larger size, no tailoring necessary.

    HTH!

    ReplyDelete
  40. ginastorm,
I have the Timex traveler watch, and it doesn't indicate anywhere on the watch or box (that I've seen) that it is water resistant which is kind of odd for a Timex. Despite that, I love the watch. It's the perfect size for my wrist and very easy to exchange bands. It has a sliding mechanism so that the bands can be changed without using the pins.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Thanks starfish! I am between 2 sizes and typically wear my clothes looser, so I sized up! Fingers crossed... returning and exchanging (it's Petite, so online only) is such a headache!

    ReplyDelete
  42. maryse - I also tried the perfect fit striped tank - very cute, but yes, fitted. I usually get a small in JC knits, and I was happy with that in this top as well. It's fairly thin and so not worth FP IMO but I'm thinking of grabbing one with the current promo +30%. The red stripes are super cute.

I recently ordered the Verona jacket. The fabric is beautiful. The blue part of it is subtly shimmery, and the weave of it is just lovely. It has sort of weird closures - like really big hook and eyes, three of them - but I liked that. Unfortunately, this jacket has some serious skinny arm syndrome going on. I ordered my usual jacket size (have to get 6 for my shoulders) and the arms were uncomfortably tight, even with just a cami or tank underneath. Not sure how sizing up would work since it's kind of a boxy cut jacket. But the fabric is gorgeous, so if you have smaller arms/shoulders, it might work for you.

Also ordered the crosstown tee - overall, I agree with the positive reviews it's gotten. I think I'll tack the neckline closed, but I like the elastic waist and the fabric. The mauve morning color is lovely. Looks really cute with the troupers I finally got in an appropriate size, which was a size down from normal.

Cotton bell skirts - cute cut, nice length, sized down for a little less volume but lost no length. Can easily wear low on my waist/hips. Love both the pink and the khaki I ordered but debating them due to very high wrinkle factor.

frosted paisley perfect shirt - lovely print, tts (I'm a 6 in perfect shirts) - looks just like expected but might return and hold off for better price. This fabric blend is kinda high maintenance for me (ie requires ironing) so I don't end up wearing them as much as things that don't need ironing. :)

Still waiting on my backordered locket necklace...

    ReplyDelete
  43. oh yeah - Timex watch - I really like the new smaller version, but I have teeny tiny wrists, so the larger ones look weird on me. It is more delicate, but it's really nice. I'm sure I'll pick one up eventually. :)

    ReplyDelete
  44. Thanks so much, Suzy & Heather! I very much appreciate it!

    ReplyDelete
  45. Jenny, I love the Super 120s suiting. I have not tried the Nouvelle jacket. On the Super 120s 1035 pants I take a size eight, but on the Wool Flannel 1035 pants I take a six. I also take a six in the the chinos, Belmarin, etc. So, for me, the Super 120s 1035s are better going up a size.

    ReplyDelete
  46. OT, what's with the Collection site? It seems to shrink daily, and today it has the Prince Of Wales Schoolboy (from late last summer) at full price, the Sequin Harem Pants at full price, 9 shirts/tops of which 3 are not JC production… shakes head

    ReplyDelete
  47. Jenny,

I have the Durham pants in the 120's suiting and find they run TTS for the most part but they are tight in the hips and butt area, so if you have any curves you may need to size up or have the waist let out. (For reference, I wear the Minnie pants in 00 and I wear 0 in J.Crew skirts, and I got these pants in a 0)

I also have the Nouvelle jacket. I find that it runs a bit big, but probably not enough to size down. The shoulders are pretty TTS but it is big through the stomach area for me. It is pretty long (intentionally so I think), so if you're short you may want to consider a different jacket. I am 5'9" and it works well for me with pants, but with a pencil skirt I can't help but think the proportions are off and I am planning to buy the shorter jacket as well. I got my jacket in a 0 and that is my usual jacket and outerwear size.

Other than that I really like it and have received quite a few compliments on it. Good luck!

  48. bought the Delaney Eyelet Dress(#38179) in alabaster. cute dress. well made. lined. fits true to size. a little too delicate for my liking. i would have preferred a heavier-weighted cotton. skirt is really poofy. overall i'm underwhelmed by it so it's going back.

also bought the Dorrie Skirt (#37781) in Dragonfly blue... cute little skirt. hits just above my knees (i'm 5'4"). the blue is a little closer to navy than i was hoping. it's the perfect type of casual skirt i can wear with a t-shirt and sandals and still look pulled together. actually thinking about getting another color too.

  51. Oof! I got the Odeon high-heel oxfords, and they are ADORABLE, BUT... I wish I'd gotten an 8, half a size up from my 'usual' 7.5. My foot is probably on the wider side, and the shoe is not necessarily CRAZY narrow but it's a TIGHT FIT across the toe box, with it having a ridge of stiching there. Since it's suede (with a leather liner) I guess it should be able to stretch out, but I don't think I can stand to do that myself from wearing, will need to take to a shoe repair or maybe buy some stretchers... So if you're wide, maybe size up! Plus the toe tapers, so maybe not a wear all day shoe.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Ok, maybe they will be ok if I wear them around the house a bit, although my left foot is a tiny bit bigger and it's still not feeling so great...

BUT I freaking love my Starlet dot bikini (cerise). It got cancelled before but I snapped it up when it came back... SUN and BEACH PLEASE!

    ReplyDelete
  53. I sized up with the Gibson heels, I always take a 6.5 in a closed-toe shoe but for the Gibson I took a 7. (For the Gibson sandal I took a 6.5, but was on the verge of buying a 7.) I think part of the issue is the zipper in the back, the zipper pushes my foot forward a little bit. (I have the same issue with a non-J Crew pair of sandals, Isola Oasis.)

I want to add that the black Gibson heels are my new favorite shoe. They are amazing looking, even nicer on feet than just standing there on their own, either IRL or in the pics on the web site. I was a little skeptical to buy them but I am super pleased. They are slightly retro, sexy-but-not-slutty, look like velvet, and the heels look sky high but I'm not having any problem walking in them. Highly recommended.

  54. I reviewed the Lighthouse Cardigan last week because I could not wait for the weekly reviews post. I found it to be extremely unflattering and wanted to warn others. The wide strip of thick ribbing at the hem combined with the bulky roll-top pockets added a lot of bulk. It was awful and a major disappointment since the yarn blend and colors are very nice. Beware - it is final sale now and still available in all sizes and both colors for a reason. I did size up as recommended by others but still did not get the length as shown on the model either, although I'm on the tall side but unlikely taller than the model.

Last week I also received the Gingham Sonoma shorts and these are a definite keeper. The fabric is soft, similar to oxford cloth and the blue and white check is very pretty. The pattern lines up nicely at the seams, something I find J.Crew to be very meticulous about most of the time and a sign of a well-made garment. They are TTS to a bit roomy but I like my shorts loose so went with my usual size.

    ReplyDelete
  55. Wanted to mention that I love the bootcut cords. For 30% off 19.99, it is a steal! I bought a few last week before the 30 off and still think it was a good deal even for $20. Love them!

    ReplyDelete
  56. I tried the Oxford cotton scout chinos today in 3 different colors (same size) and they all fit differently. White were TTS with a little bit of room, navy were smaller (they just fit) and I could barely get the blue on (they were $49.50 in store). Go figure. Just a warning that it could be a headache to find the perfect pair (and I would stay away from these when they get marked down and are fs). On the other side the gingham one fit a size bigger and they are adorable.

  57. First Madewell order; never seen their close IRL before. There is no store anywhere close, which is weird b/c I live in a major metropolis. Have another belt that's trailing this order & will report back.

    Grid-Paper Boyshirt
I completely thought this was a cotton shirt. At least that's what it looked like. I went back and I had to read the desciption pretty closely to see silk. Cute pattern, but would have been much better in cotton. Returning

    Zippy Belt
Gotten them in both the brown & black. They run huge. First, I thought this was a waist belt, but it just fits on my hips, & women belts never do. I contacted Madewell about sizing & they had no info on the measurements of these belts. They are very unique & extremely cute with the very deconstructed zipper look. The belt would definitely snag any clothes it would come into contact with, so I can see why it's suppose to be at the hip. Not sure if I'm keeping them.

    Drifter Top
Very cute, but arm opening is pretty revealing. At least if you raise your arms, your pits will definitely be exposed. The color itself seems a bit flat, and not as silky looking as does in the photo. There is definitely some hits of very dark mustard & green in the charcoal colored silk. Not sure if intereting enough to keep. I have lots of clothes at this point & have to be very selective.

    ReplyDelete
  58. Woops, meant clothes. You get the idea.

    ReplyDelete
  59. Ahh, on another post at some point I offered up my Madewell code but no one hunted me down... I'm just going to put it out there since it expires in a few hours... sorry if you try to use it and someone else already has, but for one lucky person who needs it...

  60. ^ The code is claimed! I toyed with it, mock checking out a few times for 10 minutes until I got a message that the code had been used. The funny thing is, I had never given Madewell a second look until that code. Now that I have... wow, cute! :O)

    ReplyDelete
  61. Hahaha! The funniest thing happened. My swimsuit order came. I ordered a bandeau top in dark charcoal and a bow hipster in peach (with dark charcoal ties, so it'd match). What came instead was a dark charcoal top AND hipster (this time with seafoam green ties). Now, usually when J. Crew sends me wrong swim pieces, I'm livid. But this time, I was accidentally sent the perfect matching bottom! Not complaining. Inventory failure win?

    ReplyDelete
  62. I got my Jackie cardigans order today. Would you agree that the lighting in the store makes some of the colors look better on you? Neon Azela color looked awful on me when I tried on in my house. In the store I liked it a lot! Sneaky tricky J Crew. However, the bavarian blue color is stunning. Will return the pink one.

  63. Reviews with pictures on my blog.

Waverly Chinos - LOVE. I'll be buying another pair. I wore them all day sitting, driving, shopping, blogging and I didn't end up with "saggy butt". Success! Petite 00 was perfect for my 5'2.5", 24" waist frame.

Sun-drenched sweatshirt - I bought this at the retail store the other day. It's 100% cotton and it's thick, perfectly "intentionally slouchy", great for casual summer/spring wear.

Factory Olivia Dress - Shapeless, huge... returned.

Double-serge pencil skirts in P00 fit me great also. Again, 34-24-34 and you can still get them for $60. The wool is just thick enough to conceal most clothing lines.

    Hope this helps!

  64. Minzunuami - charcoal grey and mint green sounds SO CUTE! And thank you for letting us know the code was used, I felt bad just dangling it out there in case too many people were disappointed... hopefully not too many panic-cart-adding for it or something!

  65. I got the Finespun three-quarter scoopneck tee in my usual XS. I love the fit. It's not as form fitting and clingy as the Perfect fit tees. The blush color is very pretty. It's slightly darker than it appears on my monitor, more of a pale peach.

  66. Does anyone have the Eliza lace-up boots? Any comments on comfort/fit/quality? I love the look of them, and they're on sale, but I'd hate to be unable to return them if they turned out to be terribly uncomfortable.

    ReplyDelete
  67. G, until someone comes along with Eliza comments, I will tell you that they appear to have the same exact heel and platform as the Gibsons, which I own, and I will say regarding heel height and room inside of the toe area I like them a lot but I would only wear them if I didn't have much walking to do. :-) I ordered 1/2 size larger than my usual shoe size and they fit perfectly.

  68. I tried the new cotton version of the Forever cardigan. Being on the tall side, I find the Forever cardigan flattering, and I have a bunch in the merino wool. And I like their shape much better than the Infinity on me. But sadly, the buttons hung strangely when left open. The buttons are the same type used on Jackies, but I think since the cotton fabric is so much thinner, they end up flopping around ungracefully when the cardi is left unbuttoned/open (you may see what I mean if you zoom up on the model shot). That was a deal breaker for me. The colors are quite nice though.

  70. I have not tried this item yet, but I wanted to pass along some information about the Windowpane trenchlet (item 39015) featured in the Spring Lookbook. I noticed that in the Lookbook and in the model shots online (do a search as it is not listed in the regular pages yet) that the jacket has epaulets. However, the product shot does not show these epaulets. According to CS, the product shot is correct -- this item is sans epaulets (which actually make me more interested!).

    ReplyDelete
  71. Just got my Factory linen-cotton slub cardigan in the warm mocha color and it's really nice! TTS, it's finished really nicely, a good classic cardi length (not long, not cropped), and I will definitely be ordering more. It's a great basic, I wish they'd made it in lots of colors like the cashmere. I also got a black Factory ethereal ruffle cardigan which is also great, TTS, nicely finished, etc. I'll remove the ruffle, it will be a nice v-neck alternative to the Jackie. I also have the ethereal in light pewter and it's nice.

    ReplyDelete
  72. LoLo,

Thanks for letting us know about the Windowpane trenchlet.
I've had my eye on this one, even though it seems a tad too short for my licking. I'm curious why it's still being hidden as well.

  73. I just received the Bloussanna blouse in black and I know that I am in a minority but I didn't like it at all. The sleeves are super pouffy (which I kind of kmew about) and the seams from the armpit to the shoulders are not cut straight but go across the front of the blouse make towards the collar. Very weird. I know that it's more of a question of personal taste than a quality of the garment but if you are going for a sleek look this is not it. In terms of fit, I find it to be a little bit on the small side, especially around the chest.

Crosstown tee: I had tried the XS in store and it was very big so I ordered the XXS in two colors as a ride-along. The XXS fit better (it doesn't open up on the chest) but the elastic cuts across my waist in an unflaytering way, more so in the lighter color (the weathered sage). I give up! The nautical blue is such a pretty color though.

    ReplyDelete
  74. Ema, thanks for the comment on the Bloussana. I thought something was odd about how the sleeves are attached to the body of the shirt, and now you've confirmed it.

    ReplyDelete
  75. Lolo and Wolfy - did you notice the first two buttons on the trenchlet? They look to be broken in half! Strange!

    ReplyDelete
  76. Haha, those buttons are SO broken!

    Stay classy, JC.

    ReplyDelete
  77. Oh my! Yes, those buttons are soooo broken. I did not notice it until now. I am guessing they are keeping this item hidden until they get the model shots fixed. :-)

  78. I received my order with the Collins leather shoes and the Sequin Boy Tee in natural cotton.

First, the Boy Tee. It's cream-colored, not as yellow as the Drapey Sequin Tank's white ash. The Boy Tee sequins are shinier and sparkle more in the light, and they're applied less dense than the sequins on the Drapey Tank. Overall very pretty and the quality is excellent but I'm not thrilled with the fit on me. I wish the neckline were higher, it's just a personal preference of mine. I'd send it back but it was a final sale item. I might alter it, or else I'll add it to my for sale listing. I had ordered the XL because I wanted it to be loose. If anyone wants it I'll sell it for $35 shipped. My email address is in the for sale thread, contact me for measurements if you're interested.

Now, the Collins leather peep toe in mink. Beautiful! I usually wear a 6.5 shoe, this 6.5 fits absolutely perfectly. They're slightly tight over the top of my foot but not bad. They're comfortable to walk in despite the high heel. The color is a really pretty matte-finish medium neutral brown, a little lighter than they appeared on my computer monitors. It's a good color that will be suitable year-round. I didn't think they looked very flattering on me with no stockings, I have weird ankle bones that stick out more on the outside than on the inside, and the Collins style accentuates it. But when I put on some gray tights it was a huge improvement. So these are definitely a keeper, another beautiful pair of J Crew shoes to add to my small but rapidly-growing collection.

  79. Just got a Jcrew & my first Boden order in.

    Mixed stitch cardigan-White
This is really lovely & very unique. Pockets are open, not sewn down or just for show. TTS to a little loose. The medium thickness crepe yarn material is not soft, but not bothersome enough to scratch the skin. Picked this one up at $54, not sure if it's a full price worthy buy.

    Featherweight cashmere cardigan-Hthr Algae
Color is nothing like imagined. It's more like a muted or dark mint green. It looks sort of blue green in the photo on my computer. I don't see any blue IRL. Not sure if it's all that complementary to my olive skin. Possible return.

    Cashmere femme cardigan-Hthr Tide
Great length and what a wonderful dark teal color. Not as soft as some of the other Cashmere I have tried. Feels a bit like the Featherweights as well. Still a great piece on sale.

    Tuxedo henley-Shadow
Not a new item, but at $20 I thought this would be a good addition to wear with a blazer or cardigan. TTS

    Silk pocket tank
Great basic for low cut silk shirts. Size down on this one. Picked up the Dark Charcoal & aged driftwood

Also broke down and picked up the Silk & Sequin Scoopneck Tee in Olive Moss at $20. Not sure where I would wear it, but it's a beaute for the price. I will definitely wear it once to get my money’s worth.

    Boden-St Malo Cardigan-Grey/Navy
A really great go-to piece for spring. I love the slimming silhouette it creates. The Gray/Navy is very versatile, but I regret not getting a funnier color. I may have to pick this up in the other colors. TTS, shoulders & sleeves fit perfect. The only con or strangeness, is the enamel buttons are ridiculously big.

  81. In the product photo for the featherweight cashmere cardi, heather algae looks like a deep turquoise on my monitors, definitely a bluish cast. But I was just browsing the online March catalog and got to the page where the cardis are all stacked up, and there heather algae definitely looks green. I'm glad you posted your comment, Wolfy, heather algae was a color I was interested in, and I also would have been disappointed that it's not a bluish green.

  83. I bought the Bonfire Cardigan in Marled Brown a few weeks ago and I LOVE it. It is 100% cotton so it doesn't itch and its machine washable. The quality is what really drew me in. Its thick and hardy but perfect for summer nights too. My mom loved it when she saw mine so I bought her the Marled Grey.

It's on second markdown now in the store where it's $49.99, and for the rest of the day (I think) online sale is an additional 30% off where it is $59.99. Get it while there are still some left!

  87. The Coddington Suede Platform Pumps in cobblestone arrived. I normally wear a 6.5 in non-J Crew closed-toe shoes but am finding I need to go up .5 for J Crew shoes and the Coddington was no exception, the 6.5 was definitely too short. The 7.0 is just the tiniest bit long, but I inserted a small pad which totally fixed the problem plus provide a little extra padding. The workmanship is wonderful, as always. The front is cut low, on the verge of toe cleavage. Love the color, a very pale taupe-y grey that will work for spring as well as fall. The suede is cropped close so it's nearly smooth, again making these shoes suitable for spring. A lot of platforms look too funky or sexy for work, the Coddingtons have an elegant appearance. My only concern is that they're contributing to my J Crew shoe addiction. :) No felt bag with these shoes, which is OK for me because I don't want the bags anyway. Also, both sizes appeared to be totally fresh, not returns. I got them with the 30% of promo and feel they were well worth $132. I definitely recommend this shoe.

And then I received two Factory Linen-Cotton Slub Cardigans. I had already received one, the warm mocha (a nice medium brown) and I'm very pleased with it. The two that arrived today are antique lilac (a dull light mauve) and shadow (reminds me of ink or dark denim), they're great too! They are TTS, and all three cardis are identical in size. I love the linen-cotton blend, it's airy without being sheer. The workmanship is excellent. I got all three cardis for $34.65 each and free shipping, they are definitely worth the price. Another recommended item.

  89. @Ginastorm,

I just purchased the Timex traveler watch. It IS water resistant to 30 meters (check the back - it says WR 30M in ridiculously tiny letters). Changing the strap is super easy - the watch face just slides right on like a ribbon. The size is always going to be a person preference thing, but I prefer a smaller watch face, and it's got a great dainty yet rugged appeal to it. Highly recommend.

  90. Hi Tamara,

I'm interested in buying the Sequin Boy Tee, XL, natural from you if it's still available. I can't get a hold of your email address/profile, so I hope you get this. Thanks!
