This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)
If you are stopping by a J.Crew store this weekend to see what's available (if anything!) in the SPRING sale, or to see some new SPRING arrivals {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!
Also, please let us know if your local store is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)
P.S. I noticed that many of you have already been reporting sale items (and in which stores) in other posts which by the way "thank you!" :) I really appreciate how helpful we are for each other!

ReplyDeleteDefinitely going on a search for the perfect islet paisley shirt today! Someone also posted a pic of an orange paisley pencil skirt the other day (can't remember the name, I think it was in store only) and I will be looking for that. I am a total sucker for orange.
ReplyDeleteSub! Planning on getting the button back tee on sale :)
ReplyDeletesub
ReplyDeleteOMG, they're selling overalls in the Factory section now! Really?
ReplyDeleteI'll be popping in to try on a few more new items, and to return a couple things. Will post pics of new pieces. Anyone have any requests for me to try on?
ReplyDeleteshopwithm, I love that you're taking requests! ;) I'd love to see the ribbon cami if you run into it.
ReplyDeleteI am trying to hold off going to the store b/c in about a week and a half, I'll be near an outlet. Looking forward to doing a little outlet shopping then.
ReplyDeleteThe additional 30% off sale inequality continues - one store near me has 30% but hardly any stock...my big store has several things I would buy with 30, but of course, no additional %. Might try one more B&M, just for the thrill of the hunt (that was a little sarcastic)

ReplyDeleteShopwithm- yes! I would love to see the following:
ReplyDeleteWave tank
Delaney eyelet top
Cotton blousanna top
Arianna dress
Sirah dress
Moped pants
Artisan pants
Cotton voile marina skirt
MiH Delancey denim skirt
Chambray Dorrie skirt
Eyelet or pointelle shorts
Esplanade shorts
Denim shorts in shake it wash vs. selvedged vs. clear sky
Long list, but I look forward to seeing what catches your eye with the new arrivals!
has anyone at all seen an extra 30% off sale items at their store? wondering if mine may be running, have not had time to check this week ....
ReplyDeleteM- Would you mind trying on the Stripe sunburst tank? Just wondering if this is one of those huge cotton tanks or tts. I always debate the xs and small. Thanks! :)
ReplyDeleteI probably will not be going but if anyone is looking for Liberty Bouquet Shirtdress they had full rack of them in Paramus NJ, I saw sizes 0 to 6.
ReplyDeleteSHIP150 is for free shipping now until Sunday 3/27.
ReplyDeleteAshley, the sunburst tank is huge. Definitely size down, IMO. I picked up the blue last week.
ReplyDeleteIf you're planning on visiting a J Crew Outlet anytime soon, you should download the 20% coupon from Tanger Outlets that works at all their J Crew Outlet locations! You can get yours here: http://www.tangeroutlet.com/tangerstyleSpring/Default.aspx?Source=Blog+
ReplyDeleteAshley,
ReplyDeleteI agree with Heather. Definitely size down for the stripe sunburst tank.
As much as I'm loving the overall appearance of all of the spring clothes, when it comes to choosing specific pieces I'm just not finding what I need. I'm drawn more to the past season items on sale than the new offerings. Am I the only one still buying items that were introduced in the winter? I just bought the charcoal velvet ruby jacket, definitely not a spring item except maybe when out for an evening.
ReplyDeleteWow, thanks Alexandra! As for the sunburst tank, it does run big, but I thought it was also really see-through and therefore, not worth FP. I was disappointed b/c I thought it looked cute until I tried it on.

ReplyDeletesilver lining-I will be going there too:) 20% off and no minimum is a better deal at Talbots.
ReplyDeleteI do hope to hit a Crewlet soon though....maybe in a couple of weeks.

ReplyDeleteHeather & Jackie- Thank you thank you! You ladies saved me the mistake of ordering the wrong size! :)
ReplyDeleteJRuby- Thanks for your review as well! I hope you have fun at the Crewlet! :)

ReplyDeleteWould love to see the chambray dorrie skirt on as well
ReplyDeletesorry it posted in DH's name trying to get myself logged in
ReplyDeleteOT, I know....
ReplyDeleteGot the latest copy of the "Thread" today. They talk about the Fall 2011 collection being part "Bonnie and Clyde" and the "Great Gatsby." The article goes on to say that there will be reds, oranges - a return to color!!! Also, there will be longer silhouettes!!! Leopard Prints!!
Sounds very appealing on paper - can't wait to see execution :)
I have the Dorrie chambray skirt and love, love, love it. I haven't worn it much b/c the weather isn't cooperating yet. But I think it's a flattering fit and is something you can dress up or down. I mostly plan to wear it casually running around with my son. I am usually a 4 in JCrew bottoms and found that it is TTS. It sits right on your waist and is an appropriate length for those of us with kiddos, which is nice for a change.
ReplyDeleteOH ps - I actually talked about the Dorrie skirt today on my blog...(and the eyelet mini)

I just uploaded some fitting room pictures, love the perfect shirt in neon gingham.

Has anyone seen the Drapey stripe tee featured in this week's New Arrivals in store? Went to 3 different stores and didn't see it. I'm in NYC.
ReplyDeleteI went to my B&M today to see if they might have a Bonfire cardi I could try on, and they did (yay) but no extra % off sale, booo.
ReplyDeleteI was very surprised by the weight/heft of the Bonfire's knit. Something about seeing it online made me think it was somehow lightweight, but it's really quite heavy in the hand! I find myself wondering how peeps get/got a belt over it. No matter, I bought it anyway in the marled brown color. I sized down to a Small. The arms are snug, but not tight. It'll be killer with my tobacco-brown Born boots and some skinnies.
There were several of the plaid perfect shirts on the sale rack at $39.99, and I think I will jump on them if we see extra % off sale. I like them better for like $28 than $40. I really have no business buying them, as I have the suckered gingham shirt already in every imaginable color, but this summer I may do as others do and wear (work-appropriate) shorts to work. Like some nice chino bermudas or something.
There were many Lighthouse cardis in the white ash color hanging out there on the sale rack. All sorts of tees too. Several of the rainy-day utility jacket (still hovering at $99.99) and a few pair of Minnies; I bought some cotton ones in a Coal color for $19.99.
I also established during this visit that I cannot, in fact, fit into a Crewcuts size 14 tee. I gave it a good go, though. The slub-knit ones are the closest I can get, and even then they're a little too tight for my comfort.
I was handed some kind of incentive card for Crwecuts though, which I don't recall anyone mentioning, but maybe I missed it. I buy x# Crewcuts items and when the card is full I get 15% off a Crewcuts purchase. Okay. Better than nothing, I guess.
I found a fun post on another blog about men's cargos.... I know there are gentlemen readers, so I thought I would give them a heads up! I think these cargos look awesome, and I bought a pair for my DH, who loves them. The blog is Optional Essentials, and the post is here
ReplyDeleteI have a question about my Jcrew credit card:
ReplyDeleteMy transactions "balance" is way different from my credit card balance. Is this because some returns haven't posted yet. Anyone else experience this phenomenon??
Went to the Vacaville Crewlet, and glimpsed quite a few new arrivals. Lots of Cardigans are 40% off and the Jackies were 30% off. Perfect shirts I believe were 30% off.
ReplyDeletePicked up the Factory linen-cotton slub cardigan in Shadow and White for $32 each. TTS and really cute basics. The material is like a cheaper version of the new Bling Angora Cardi from last season.
Wolfy-
ReplyDeleteThinking about heading to Vacaville! How was the sale section, and was there a storewide $ off?
Staci, IIRC, your returns take a full billing cycle to show up. Even when you don't have a JC card, they still do it that way when you return a credit card purchase. So that could be it. ...
ReplyDeleteWOOT WOOT! I just received the 20% off card in the mail.............going shopping!
ReplyDeleteDelaney Eyelet Skirt
Sailor Chino Shorts
Skinny Belts
Silk Henley Top
Silk Driving Scarf
Dorrie Skirt
Vintage School boy Shirt
@minzunuami, sorry I don't remember if there was a extra % off sale, I would call to find out. But the sale section was more stuffed than I've ever recalled seeing it. However, I couldn't find anything I liked left in my size. I don't go to Vacaville crewlet often, as it's about an hour away from me. I've signed up for sale reminders a few times, but I have yet to receive one notification.
ReplyDeleteI also recall seeing lots of sparkle. They had last seasons Sequin stripped henley in both colors.
Oh, forgot to mention-no there wasn't a store wide % off, but lots of stuff was. Most sweaters & long sleeve shirts were extra off. The vintage short sleeve Tees, which I love, were $19.99. The jewelry was an extra 30% off as well.
ReplyDeleteAnd the belts were an extra 30% off. I guess at least 75% of the store had an extra discount. There were quite a few new arrivals that match the online Factory. Those items were pretty much the only thing not on sale.
ReplyDeleteI also saw zebra & studded tunic
Copley has a huge sale section, and plenty of tiny sizes for small girls and petites. I used my "Mickey Card" to buy the Liberty bouquet dress, a paisely perfect shirt, a jackie cardigan, and a belle skirt. All ready for spring! :) There were also a ton of tulle blossom dresses for $49.99. I snagged one to stash in the closet for next winter's holiday parties.
ReplyDelete^ sorry, meant bell, not belle!
ReplyDeleteInteresting...
ReplyDeleteI never got a Mickey card, but I never really expected on either. I got an e-mail this morning from JC reminding me to use my card that I got in the mailbox! I called, and they said they would get back to me. I hope they do, because there are several items in the sale section at my store I would have purchased the other day if I had the extra 20% off.
Allie
Wolfy!-
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for the update. I'm definitely going to have to make a visit!! :)
OT, ebates.com is showing 6% back on J.Crew web orders! The usual cash back is 1% or, if they're in a particularly benevolent mood, 2%.
ReplyDeleteThe Domain store in Austin had an extra 20% off sale items yesterday. There were lots of random tees, skirts, some pants and jeans. I tried on the Dorrie chambray skirt, a vintage cotton sequin tank, Indian voile boyshirt, chambray boyshirt, a sale jackie in a light lilac color (they also had a light pink on sale) . I put the voile shirt (in blue) the sequin tank and a skirt in my daughter's size on hold and may go back today and purchase with my Mickey card. The skirt fit me in a 0 but to get the length I want I would probably have to go up to a 2 and then it would be too poofy. It's not particularly short (if you are in your 20s!)but too short for me! Had to verify skirt size with college daughter! I was suprised how much I liked the sequin tank, in a bronzy color (they also had it in navy and one other? color). I thought it would be cute year round under button up tops and on its own in the summer!
ReplyDeleteDid anyone notice the big update to sale last night? I'm crossing my fingers for an extra % off this week!
ReplyDeleteI did! I'm digging the embellished boy shirts. :) Not going to bite without the % off... I know you're out there!
ReplyDeleteWellfedfred, thanks for the heads up. I've never seen the ebates rebate that high. I usually just get 1% back.
ReplyDeleteI never thought I would say this, but I really think my closet is complete for every season. Now, if some of the spring collection went on sale, I wouldn't say no.
Lots of new arrivals on sale now, including Tulip ruffle cami for $49.99.
ReplyDeleteCan anyone advise if the Silk Organza Starburst dress runs true to size? Or smaller/bigger? Not sure what size to get, and it's a final sale item.
ReplyDeleteSome shoes I was stalking popped back this morning. I really want to wait for a %-off promo, I hated to pay so much but I really want the shoes and I was afraid they'd be gone. At least I got free shipping. I hope they have a promo tomorrow, then I'll call and plead for the promo to be applied. I've bought so much lately, I deserve it. :)
ReplyDeleteIrene -- I got my usual dress size in the Organza Starburst Dress. Hope that helps!
ReplyDeleteI love that organza starburst dress. I would totally buy it if I thought I'd ever have any occasion to wear it!
ReplyDeleteThe B&M at Boca Raton Town Center had additional 20% sale, but it was final.
ReplyDeleteLots of tees and knits on sale.
Hello, ladies! Just returned from the Friendship Heights (DC) B&M and wanted to share my thoughts regarding the cadabra cardigan, which is now marked down to $19.99 in store (vs. $59.99 online).
ReplyDeleteI love this sweater! The drawstring really does make it versatile. It can be worn gathered into a fairly tight cocoon shape (somewhat shrug-like), gathered more loosely (as shown on the website), entirely un-gathered (for a swingy shape), tied or untied as long as it's at least slightly gathered, and with a belt when completely un-gathered, just to mention the ways that I styled it while trying it on. The fabric (95% rayon, 5% silk) is nice and lightweight, without feeling like it's going to fall apart immediately, and it has a subtle sheen (I'm guessing from the silk). It's machine washable too, which is a bonus. It's a perfect weight for spring here in DC, and I plan to wear this cardigan casually with leggings, skinny jeans and pants, and for work cinched @ the waist over slim skirts. (Btw, FWIW, I think the way this cardigan is styled on the website is probably the LEAST attractive way to style it-- scrunched and not tied, and over a mini in practically the same shade! Not cute, IMO.)
Despite pledging to no longer purchase multiples, I ended up buying both the heather gray and the provence pink color, which I would describe as a muted pinkish-coral, b/c the former is a versatile neutral, and the latter just happens to really flatter my coloring. The sleeves aren't particularly tight, although of course it's a loose-fitting style in the body so if you wanted it to be more form-fitting and sized down, the arms would probably be too tight. I wanted a roomy fit, so I went with a small (I'm 5'8", 135lbs and generally take a small or xs in tops @ JC.).
DC-area ladies, the FH B&M still had a few smalls left in the gray, and Ms, Ls and XLs in the pink and dark greenish/brown.
In short, I think this cardigan is definitely worth a look, esp. for for $19.99!
Ot, What are the jeans that the model is wearing on Alexis's new banner? I have been staring at them for days. :-D
ReplyDeletealtagracia, I agree with you on the Cadabra cardigan. I bought two yesterday, in navy and heather gray, for $16 a pop (I bought other stuff with the white card). The h gray has more of a lounge look, very casual and perfect to throw over a tee and jeans. I took my regular XS and the sleeves are OK not too tight.
ReplyDeleteI also agree that they did a bad styling job with this cardigan. I never considered even trying it on until I started to read some comments here. It is one of those things that I would have never thought I'd like until I put it on. The bottom price certainly was an incentive for me to buy and I wouldn't have bought it FP but maybe I would have considered at first markdown or current online price. Also another demonstration that if the price points were lower to start with, they would sell more before being forced to give them away for almost nothing.
My Durham, NC B&M was doing an extra 20% off sale items (all final sale). I bought the Saturday sweater, which I'd been eyeing for a while (an unusual wool/linen blend, really nice drape!) ... got it in bronzed avocado and gray at $39.99 each before discount. I sized down to a Small as it seemed to have a relaxed fit. Also picked up two Cotton Striped Layering Tanks for $14.99 each before discount. I don't see them anywhere on the web though, weird. One's gray and ivory horizontal stripes and the other was sort of a brick red or sepia and ivory stripe.
ReplyDeleteI have a feeling Monday will bring us extra 20% or 30% off sale.
Extra 20% off sale at my b&m... absolutely nothing I wanted to buy.
ReplyDeleteLOVEIT gets 30% off + free shipping on $150 or more
ReplyDeletejust started Sun nite (PST)
Don't forget ebates. 6% today.
ReplyDeletepathos: Those jeans are nice. They are the Vintage slim jean in worn in wash (item 16426; was $98.00
ReplyDeleteselect colors $39.99). :)
Went to regular store and outlet this weekend. I realize that seems a bit much. :)
