Sneak Peek: What's to Come for Spring {& hopefully soon!}

A big "thanks!" to Slastena (check out her "J Crew- April Showers" post from her {amazing} About All and Nothing at All blog) who shared some sneak peeks with us. {yey!} Just click on any of the images to view them larger.

I am loving the simplicity in style. Not a lot of layers, nice pop of color, ... overall looking good!

New arrivals have been popping up in brick & mortar (B&M) stores this past week. Looks like there is even more to come. Can't wait! :)

What are your thoughts? Has your opinion on the upcoming Spring line changed? Are you looking forward to the new arrivals from J.Crew?

  4. I stopped by my local B&M (Maryland) after work to make a quick return and saw some new arrivals--dresses, the Katie eyelet cami....but did not have time to try anything on. The Katie eyelet cami came in the mustard and white color and the Katie color block came in the pink block and blue block.

  6. Went in to Walnut Creek B&M today to make a return, and boy did there Spring Sale section get fat. Lots of goodies, but no extra discount on sale.

Finally tried the Matinee trench, but doubted I would like it. Boy was I wrong. Fits perfect, very flattering and I so need it now since it's pouring non-stop for months here in N.Cali and I have not one Trench.

Wasn't this on sale at one point. Double Dame. Go on sale...please.

  7. i have a question about the swim. i have a ton of jcrew swim separates but i want the paradis paisley swimsuit. it's a one piece and it's been sold out once before but they restocked but have sold out too fast for me to get a size 0 or 2, which is my usual size in their clothes in general, but i'm not sure about the one piece swim. there's a 4 and i'm tempted to get it in case it runs smaller. I am 5'5", 120lbs, 33C, 26 1/2 waist. I would think a 2 but it's sold out. I'm hoping it runs small or that they restock so I can get the 2. What has your experience with one-pieces been like?

  8. Haha cuckoo. :) I didn't even notice anything was wrong when I read the comment. What a great husband you have to check out the dresses for you. :)

As for the new clothes..... I'm not a fan of bright colors, but I can understand if other people like them. I know some are tired of the pales. :) I could live with pale colors the entire rest of my life!

I want to add that I posted a review of the cobblestone suede Coddingtons in the Reviews thread. I realize that these shoes have been around a while but they're totally suitable for spring because of the pale color and smooth finish (as smooth as can be for a suede). I nominate cobblestone as the new nude.

  9. I think most of the pieces in those pics are already online:

Linea Shift Dress in Retro Orange.

    Matinee Trench in Light Khaki.

    Dorrie Skirt in Modern Red.

  11. Quite few new arrivals are in store. A lot of bright, orange/brick colors. I personally do not like that color. I do not find it feminine or flattering.

Since I live in FL, we have a lot of summer dresses already in stores. The fabrics are not so nice. Linen is poor quality. It simply looks like from a second hand store. However, I do appreciate simpler design forms/ clean lines that J Crew has this season.

  13. Went to the B & M today. They had lots of new pieces - very cute!

Dresses - Ceclia dress in the blood orange came home - sooo cute! Great length too for work. Size wayyy down, this runs big. Cute dress with eyelet on the bottom, also very cute (but too short for me). Some of you will love it!

New orange paisley pencil, very cute but I have one similar from a few years ago.

Beautiful navy/metallic pea coat - sooo cute but too warm for me down here in So. Fl.

Linen navy stripe/clay stripe sweater - very nice.

    Belts, tees, tanks, galore......

Trust me, you can find something to buy :)

  15. Pumpkin, I am with you on the orange color. Nice to look at for a bit but orange doesn't suit me as well as pink or red and I already have a few orange skirts and bikinis as well as the neon orange madras shorts from last year so I'm good there. Not interested in orange pants and it's not a great color next to my face because of my complexion's pink undertones so I'm not buying it in dresses, sweaters or tops. But that's OK, there is still plenty to love at J.Crew and elsewhere.

Has anyone tried the chambray Dorrie skirt? It looks to be a softer material and may have less of an a-line. The pockets also appear to be a bit higher, at least in the online pics. Would love to hear if it fits differently.

  17. BTW - Forgot to mention Linea shift is also very nice. It truly is a minimalist trend shift ... I got the Olive color and will pair it with orange flats... Was short but I will let the hem down and it should then go to my knees so I can wear it to work this summer.
