A big "thanks!" to Marietta who shared with us this image from the February issue of People's Style Watch, which features J.Crew's Keegan Cotton Jacket ($158.00).
The Keegan Cotton Jacket is not yet available on JCrew.com, but is a part of the upcoming Spring 2009 collection. (I believe it might be available in some stores already.) I really like the new jacket, especially the ruffles around the collar. However, I would need to try the jacket on to see how the body of the jacket would look on me.
What are your thoughts on J.Crew's new Keegan Cotton Jacket? Have you seen this jacket in person at stores already? If so, what are your thoughts? :)
I'm heading to my local store tomorrow and will report back on how it fits...

ReplyDeleteJust posted to you on the previous thread! Have fun at the SD store tomorrow!
Thanks Smarty!!
ReplyDeleteits very cute. I'm an employee there and I just saw the new collection. This jacket came in that khaki color as well as a dark charcoal color.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a nice fitting jacket. Love the details of the collar and the lining inside is very simple yet cute.
I think it's cute, but won't be on my personal wishlist...I prefer the Travel Trench. :)
ReplyDeleteI feel like the combo of ruffles plus a regular collar is just bizarre - why both? Maybe it looks cute on, though...
ReplyDeleteI saw that jacket in my local store, and instantly loved it. The ruffles were super cute. It was feminine but not too overboard. I might go back to try it on, so I'll report back on the fit. It was priced at $168 in my store though. Hopefully that's my store's mistake rather than the magazine's error.
ReplyDeleteIs it as boxy as it looks???
ReplyDeleteI saw this week at the Columbia MD J Crew store. It was in both khaki and white. I tried on the size 10, which fit fine, but was too boxy IMO. I wanted to like it, but just felt "eh" in it. I'd like to see the charcoal though, I might feel differently about another color.
ReplyDeleteeh, I don't like it. a little too boxy. I like the travel trench better. Or, the classic trench at old navy.
ReplyDeleteI bought the Keegan jacket in white. The moment I tried it on I fell in love with it. I don't think it's too boxy, but it does resemble a slight trapeze shape. The ruffle collar is detachable, which is great because it adds to the versatility of the jacket. I personally like the Keegan over the travel trench because it has a lapel. But it is a little shorter than the trench. I would definitely recommend it as a spring jacket though!
ReplyDeletehmmm, based on this pic I'm not feeling it...
ReplyDeleteIt reminds me a little of the Fiona coat.
From the picture, it looks like yet another boxy jacket from J.Crew.
ReplyDeleteIt doesn't look boxy to me, more trapeze like another poster said. I like it, and think it's very cute. Very appropriate for NW weather too...not too heavy nor light. For someone who can't pull off the Victoria shirt/cami (runs way too big), this could be my chance to have some ruffles.
ReplyDeleteI tried it on today and thought it looked cute with the ruffles. Nice style and nice to have something different than the normal trench-type collar. My only issue was the fabric was maybe a little too rumply/wrinkly. The fabric felt substantial and of good quality, though. The cut was similar to other jackets (I have a problem with shoulders being too narrow, but sizing up makes it not fitted at the waist enough).
ReplyDeleteI tried this on today and definitely didn't love it. It was just ok. I wasn't "wowed" like I have been with other pieces. I am a sucker for ruffles too, but I had to pass. I didn't like the fabric, the colors (the khaki was too dark and the white would just get way too dirty) and the collar was just weird. It did fit TTS though, I just didn't like it.
ReplyDeleteI love the ruffles but would like to see it on - I also thought it looked like it might be too boxy.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to try this one on. I have so many double breasted jackets that I really don't need another one. But....do we really need any more clothing? :) I'm intrigued to see what the dark charcoal color will look like.
