  1. Ordered the pink paisley Mary Janes with the promo - have been eyeballing those since they were released. Also ordered the long merino cardigan in black - just put my elbow through my existing one for the second time.

  2. My thought process is so warped - I look at this promo in writing & I'm all "Oooooh $200 seems like a lot to drop at once!" yet I went to the clearance store over the weekend where the promo was 30% off *$300* & I was like, "OK YAY SURE FILL UP MY BAG PLS!" There's something that happens chemically in my brain when I walk through those doors... all rational thought exits immediately.

  3. First of all, there appear to be a couple new arrivals on the site. Another cape - third time's a charm?

Regarding this "promo" - there are so. many. exclusions. I got a cardholder birthday code for $25 off an order of $25+ and was waiting until there was free shipping to grab some tortoise hair clips, and they're excluded (this code is considered a promo as opposed to a gift card). Ugh.

    1. I don't remember seeing that Toggle Cape before, it looks new to me. I don't see anything else new, though.

Is the roll-out next week or in two weeks?

    2. nothing new in the "pre order selection" I hate when a mini roll out is like 3 items.....why bother. boy I should really be on the looking to vent...but J Crew is alienating Canadian customers with its prices...so above the US prices...esp factory.

    4. I only noticed these:

Two-piece dress in silk baby dot (f5787)
Lightweight boy shirt in oversized gingham (f4576)
Plush fleece excursion vest (e1535) - was around last year but these appear to be new
Toggle cape in wool cashmere (f4303)

    5. Maryeb - ina mentioned on her IG, the next big roll out is the week of the 12th. It's coming up. Yay!

    6. I agree on the exclusions. I understand the Drake and Collection otems but why would the Lucite link necklace be excluded? Grrrr...

    7. I called CS today and they let me combine the $25 off card and the promo code. I ended up getting the long downtown field jacket for $107. Thank goodness because other than the merino sweater blazer, which is sold out in my size and excluded from all promos, there isn't anything from this past rollout that really catches me. I did try the city trench, which I loved the color of, but it looked like I was wearing a giant blanket!

    1. Yes - new-ish. It used to be around 5am EST which was great for me as I am up before work at that time! Now it's around 8-9am EST which is no bueno as I am at work. It's frowned upon to be online browsing in the office, go figure.

  5. Popped into the store today, and they said that instead of sending returns back to the warehouse, they will start selling returned items in store. Does this mean fewer popbacks on sold out items?

    1. Oh, that's really interesting. I wonder how well that will work for JC (in terms of saving $). Stores would start to accrue an array of one-of items, from say, petites and Talls.

    2. Grrr, my kindle slipped and published potentiall prematurely. In any case, yeah, I think that would definitely cut down on the number of popbacks.

JC is probably getting hit hard with the cost of having all these items shipped back and re-packaged, etc.so I guess this is an at cutting down on this cost a bit.

    3. They did say they would send petites/tall back but hold onto Collection items.

    4. I have always wished they'd do that, so I like this idea. It kind of simulates the treasure hunt aspect of shopping that you get at TJ Maxx etc and I think it will be particularly good since they have so many items they don't stock in the stores. I think one concern was that shoppers would be unhappy if the store didn't have their size, but hopefully that won't be the case. I think it will pique interest in their other offerings and people will order things they otherwise would have never seen. We here look at the web site, but I'll bet a lot of shoppers don't.

  6. I took advantage of the promo to order the new belted a-line skirt (at $128, it just qualifies for the promo) and the free shipping sweetens the deal.

I really like the 70s look of that skirt, and have been waiting for it to go on promo - 25% off plus free shipping works for me.

  7. Maybe I'm late to the party in knowing this...but Nordstrom is going to carry jcrew. It's on the front of their web page.

  8. The Long Downtown Field Jacket is definitely worth the current price with the promo. I had ordered both colors to try, and was able to get a PA for the extra 30% off on my order. I really love the jacket. The quality is good, and you cannot go wrong with either color. If you're on the fence about ordering, I say give it a try while it's eligible for the promo. I personally do not think you will be disappointed.

    1. How is the sizing on this jacket? I've been eying it since I first saw it on-line. Not sure I can justify it, since I have the shorter version. I'm curious how the longer version compares to the shorter one.

    2. I would totally buy that jacket if I hadn't bought the Mechanic jacket last spring! It looks like a really lovely piece, glad to hear you're pleased with I!

    3. Hi maryeb! I think it runs just a touch larger than the shorter version. I wear either an xsmall or small depending on the style and cut, but I still chose to go with a size small over the xsmall on this one due to my broad shoulders, and the fact that I also plan to layer it over sweaters and hoodies this fall. It does have a drawstring waist to give some definition, so even when opting for the larger size, it's possible to still achieve a more feminine silhouette. It is also not as shiny as the shorter version, and the hardware on the navy is gunmetal grey instead of gold. Both colors are more matte than the shorter version, which I actually prefer, and I love the length, too. Here are measurements that CS gave me for the XSmall & Small:

For the XS, the length is 35, chest is 38, waist is 38.5, hip is 40.5 and across the shoulder is 15.5.

For the Small, the length is 35, chest is 40, waist is 40.5, hip is 42.5 and across the shoulder is 16.

      Hope this helps!

    4. Thanks TM93! It really is a great piece! You could always opt for the navy... :)

    5. I recently purchased the Field Mechanic Jacket (less than 60 days ago and it's still new in the bag with tags) so I ordered the navy Long Downtown Field Jacket with the promo. Excited to see it. I would be interested to see which color you liked better since you personally saw both. I had a hard time choosing.

    6. Thanks so much @Melissa@AllthingSimplified. The measurements are a big help, as is your description. I much prefer a less shiny coat.

  9. I have been eyeing a few fall things and this helped me pull the trigger. Mostly basics - double cloth pencil skirt, merino sweater, trousers. I also got the Harlow cardigan which I hope is not a dud! Tried to order the lady day coat but it was excluded.

  10. I bought a handful of things full price when the roll out was new- all still in the bag with tags and receipt so I ordered them online and will return the others. Saved over $100. Hate to do that to the stores but that is substantial. I worked at a jcrew part time. The returns get put in the back in a bin to ship back to the warehouse. They get kids, bridal, collections, etc. If they don't have the item them don't want to put it back on the floor because it will junk up the place.

    1. Don't blame you, Barbara -- that is a substantial savings and frankly, maybe if JC weren't playing these sale games so often, shoppers wouldn't have to resort to this kind of thing. Wish they had offered a promo on the initial rollout in the first place.

  11. The Ruffle Top in French blue with navy piping f4742 is in Canadian stores now! I know Ottawa and Bloor st (Toronto) have it. I was so surprised and excited as it sold out right away online in a previous rollout. I got it on a popback online luckily already but I thought this might help someone who was looking.

    1. Oh that is nice (and surprising!) I don't think I saw it in stores here in the states either. I think we talked about this before, but I wonder if JC messed up the production schedule on this item -- seemed like it was released too late (and then for this particular shade to appear in the Sept. style guide - by then it'd sold out for a long time, as you pointed out!) I ended up buying this shade of blue in the Margot top instead b/c i didn't want to have 3 of this Ruffle top in different shades.

    2. Hi TM93, I think you're right about something messing up. CS told me it was only online for the French blue, Canada doesn't always get as much selection so I was shocked to see it in store yesterday.
The Margot top looks really pretty in blue! I'm trying the white since I bought the French blue ruffle top. :)

  12. Does anyone think this sale will get any better? I'm debating pulling the trigger, but it seems like every time I do, the next day the sale increases by 10%. :(

    1. Depends on if you want sale items or regular price items. 30% off regular price is as good as it gets but I do think they will bring back 40% off sale.
