249 New Arrivals at J.Crew!

"Thanks!" to many of you, who let us know that J.Crew had an update to its website (click here to view online).

There are 249 new arrivals for men (click here) & women (click here). {wahoo!} It looks like Crewcuts (click here) has been updated too.

I l-o-v-e the Fall collection at J.Crew! The Margot Top and the Ruffle-front chiffon top in polka dot are throwbacks to J.Crew's previous offerings. The usual suspects like the Majesty Peacoat and Regent Top Coats are back in a new array of colors. Very exciting!

Promotion Time! J.Crew is reminding customers that they are taking an additional 25% off select regular priced merchandise, and 30% off sale, with promo code REFRESH. This offer expires August 22, 2016. They are also offering free shipping on all orders placed today!

What items are you most excited about and why? Which items are you surprised (or not surprised) to see? Which items did you hope would be included? Were you expecting a bigger roll-out? Also, did you receive the latest catalog? :)

  1. It looks like they've removed those chest pockets from the Majesty Peacoat. Also, the pretty "hthr twilight" color that I bought the Cocoon coat in a few years ago is offered in the Majesty Peacoat (but not the Cocoon this time).

    1. A few years ago there was a light blue cocoon coat which I was never able to buy in my size. The color was similar to the dutch sky lady day offered this season. I had hoped to see the cocoon coat in that color again, but I guess it's not going to happen.

    2. I'm glad they brought the Cocoon coat back this year but was really hoping they would swap out the Heather Dusk with a bit of a darker grey. I had the Stadium Cloth Elements Coat years ago in a medium gray color and it was just gorgeous. The heather dusk tends to wash me out a bit being so light. Waiting to see what additional coats are added later.

    3. st, I think they've been missing the mark on the Cocoon coat colors the last two years. It's good they offer the basics (black/tan/navy/gray) but the extra colors haven't appealed to me. Not that I need another Cocoon coat! :) Nic G, I know what you mean about the heather dusk color. I have the Cocoon in that color too. Try a bright scarf with it.

    4. Thanks, Cate! I think I'm going to be on the lookout for a deep pigmented plaid scarf to go with it. Fabulous idea!

  2. Lots to lust after in the new arrivals, but wait for it .... no promo for any of it. A few newer items at 25% off, but nothing I wanted. J.Crew has trained me to wait for sales and better promos.

    Did score a great pair of Ludlow wool navy pin striped pants on sale from last winter. Gotta love free shipping.

    Sale section has 'huge' this morning. (In my head that line was funny as I said with a 'Trump' accent).

    1. I know J. Crew is trying to train customers to not use promos and pay full price, but I've been burned too many times by poor quality and/or ill fitting clothing to feel like their clothes are worth their slightly reduced but still really expensive prices. Like the difference between $128 skirt and a$98 dollar skirt matters, but if I need to spend $20 on alterations to make it fit or to repair a seam, what's the point?

  3. Any idea on how the cocoon coat in "deep violet" reads?? It appears more blue than violet. I'd LOVE a beautiful blue tone but probably won't get it if it reads more purple.

  4. I happened to be surfing last night around that magical time around 9:15pm PST and was able to apply the previous promo (25% off) to new arrivals:

    Collection perfect shirt in bird of paradise;
    Long downtown field jacket in dark forest;
    Boyfriend shirt in vintage red plaid;
    Merino wool v-neck sweater in dried chartreuse.

    I agree with a comment made the other day that I’m not loving the poly in the leopard print skirts and would swoon if they’d release leopard print in a double serge wool pencil skirt.

    1. Agreed on the leopard print double serge wool pencil skirt! I checked the site early this morning and saw the new arrivals were included. I went to bed relieved thinking that I would take more time to look today and make my purchases. Very disappointed to learn that was a glitch and the items are now excluded. Ugh.

  5. The only thing that I but on was the leopard Jackie. It fills a hole in my closet. I'm lusting after a lot and could use some of the Harlow cardis but need to try on first. There will be a lot more roll outs so I feel confident that j crew will get me at some point ;)

  6. I think this rollout is moving in the right direction. Not sure how I feel about ruffles again (just purged my closet of ruffles from 08-09), but some nice colors, prints, silhouettes. Will wait to get to a store to try on in person though. I'm silk of having to haul back returns.

    1. I can't do ruffles again. Too soon -- should've waited a few years longer before bringing those back!

    2. I think they're trying to recreate the hit they had with the Victoria top from '08--that was a great seller. But I think ruffle fatigue still lives on. At least they dropped the price point to $68--they took the reality check on pricing!

    3. I was sad to see ruffles on the chest of the beautiful pink paisley blouse. No-go for those of us with large chests...

  10. big sale section this morning, 30% off. nah...I do not need any of it anymore....moving on to fall.

  11. I really like some of the shoes, but overall I'm just not feeling much from this rollout.
    The flamingos and bright pink seem extremely displaced for September. It's hard for me to get excited about green-pink patterns when I'm craving apple cider, mums, and football!
    Once again, I feel like we're getting a very unfocused aesthetic from J.Crew.

    1. There are some nice reds. I see what you're saying about the pinks but they're a new option in the coats for fall...how many times have you seen red, navy, green peacoats already?

    2. I have a pink peacoat from either 2 or 3 years ago from J.Crew so I should be right in fashion...

  12. I ordered the mixed stripe tippi sweater in the red/pink combo - with 25% off and free shipping, it seemed like a good deal.

    1. Did you see Leandra Medine from Manrepeller style it with the sequin skirt of the same colors. She did the pink challenge. It is up on J.Crew's blog.

  13. Lots of beautiful new crazy pants - I don't need more but really love the COLLECTION CROPPED PANT IN RATTI MONKEY PRINT and the COLLECTION DRAKE'S® FOR J.CREW PANT IN MIDNIGHT UNICORN - would have ordered if the 25% applied. Disappointed to see that the RHODES PANT IN ITALIAN WOOL is already sold out in wild flamingo already - hopefully the sizes get restocked. Thrilled to see the neon orange Tippi - hope we see more orange this season. Interested to try the Harlow cardigan and RAINBOW STRIPE SWEATER IN MERINO WOOL.

    1. Yeah I love those unicorn print pants too but sadly do not think they would work on me.

  14. What is the store sale promo right now? Does anyone know? Percentage off sale, I mean. Thanks so much!

    1. @maqsad, oh, it's too bad I didn't check b/c I was just in a store about an hour ago. I had stopped by last Friday when it was 40% off sale, so that's why I didn't check it again today. :-( My store tends to match whatever the going rate is online, but I know that's not always the case for all stores and that it often varies.

    2. It's 40% off. The sales rack/room was brimming with items. I think they are going to need to up it.

  15. Re) City Trench: for anyone who might be curious about this item like I was, I saw it in store today and noted that it is lined (website doesn't mention lining, nor do any of the photos show it.) The lining for the nut brown version is a pretty striped fabric. Trench doesn't appear to be waterproof, however, as it's just cotton, but it does have some nice structure. Not in the market for one at the moment, but it's a very nice piece.

  16. I'm glad a lot of newish things went to sale but a bunch of things I was interested in picking up went right to FS, that's really annoying. I like some of the dresses, the sleeveless silk dress is pretty but doesn't come in petite. I like the leopard shift style but I wish it came in a plain color.

  17. Anyone know if the Long Downtown field jacket is waterproof?

  18. Wishlisted the merino sweater-blazer (I have one from Everlane and it is the bee's knees) and the Drake's perfect shirt in bird of paradise. I may wind up just buying the scarf in this print, which is beautiful.

    5. Thanks for the reviews Ina I love so much from this roll out!

  19. Is it just me, or are there fewer dresses being offered in petite? Would have loved a tie waist skirt in petite, too.

    Love lots of the shoes. Interested in the Club-collar boy shirt in textured jacquard. Not sure about the collar, though. Really curious about how the textured jacquard looks IRL.

    1. I feel like there definitely been fewer skirts offered in Petite, so no doubt it's true for dresses as well. I really liked that beautiful lace skirt that debuted a few rollouts ago, but hemming it would've been impossible due to the scalloped finish. Womp womp.

      But at least there are plenty of shoes! Shoes, the great fashion equalizer! :-)

  20. Personally I like the pink. It feels very fall-ish to me because where I live a lot of the leaves can be described as more pink than red.

  21. Off topic, but I see that J.Crew Factory (men) is currently online at Nordstrom's Rack.

    This is a bit of a puzzler for me; why won't someone just go directly to the Factory site? I didn't find the prices that great and shipping is more too. Hmm?

  22. A little OT but JC sent me a $25 gc in the mail!!

  23. I like leopard print Jackie and shell. Not into the ruffle thing at all. Anything polyester is off my radar. Some of the shoes are cute. The plaid trench, is it fully lined? At almost $300, I would hope so! Otherwise no way.

  24. It's hard to think of fall with the sweltering heat here but it's nice to see the new rollout. I'd like to try the Margot top (would work in this heat now) but I remember buying the Victoria ruffled silk cami years ago and selling it since I never wore it. If the slit on the tie waist skirt is smaller than the chino one I might try it (my chino one has a slit that sits too high when I sit down). The silk shirts have beautiful patterns, the tiered fatigue dress looks cute and there are some nice shoes but overall not too many must haves for me. When the weather cools down other items might become more appealing. :)

  25. Does anyone know if their cashmere has gotten any better? I saw one reviewer on their site who thought so..... The sweaters are cute, but I don't want to buy something that will pill horribly after a few wears... thank you!

  26. I'm also interested in hearing back reports on this new season's cashmere. I also hate how easily holes in the sleeves develop!

  27. BR has a velvet blazer shaped like the Regent and a jacket that looks just like the Downtown Field Jacket.
