Seek & Find: Will you visit J.Crew this Weekend?

This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)

If you are stopping by a J.Crew store this weekend to see what's available (if anything!) in the SALE, or to see some NEW ARRIVALS {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!

Also, please let us know if your local store is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)

P.S. I noticed that many of you have already been reporting sale items (and in which stores) in other posts which by the way "thank you!" :) I really appreciate how helpful we are for each other!

  1. I visited yesterday and tried on some sweaters. I tried the floral patch sweater and wasn't that impressed. It fit fine and the wool wasn't itchy but maybe it was the combo of the varsity stripe and the patch that confused me. It was just so-so. I tried the navy but originally liked the beige color better. I didn't see that color in my store.

I also tried the Harlow cardigan and I LOVE it!! I really wanted to live this cardigan because I need some nicer cardigans in my closet. I have mostly the mixed tape cardis which are a bit casual. It was pure love for the Harlow. It fit beautifully in the smaller of my 2 sizes. The details are done so well and make this cardigan appear much more expensive - ribbon trim, gold buttons, the double pockets. I picked up the mustard color but the peacock was stunning too. I really like all the colors! I'll definitely be adding this cardigan to my closet slowly so long as the one I bought holds up after a few washes.

Finally I picked up the tortoise necklace. It will be so great this fall. I loved the fabric backed necklace too but I have so many sparkly necklaces that the tortoise was a smarter buy. The fabric backed necklace is quite a stunner though! The backing is navy and the stones are blush, clear with hints of teal. So pretty!

    1. Thanks for all the reviews! The varsity stripe kind of killed the Floral Patch sweater for me, too. I liked the floral detail a lot, though.

Will you be wearing the Harlow cardigan over some sort of top, or on it's own? That always determines what size I order.

    2. I typically wear my cardis open over blouses except for some really pretty cropped cashmere cardis from Boden (they are beautiful and give that perfect retro vibe). So if you are on the busty side I would say stick with your normal size for buttoning them up and avoid pulling.

    3. Busty is not a problem for me. Maybe I should size down. This might be a pretty cardi to wear over a tank or a cami.

      Thanks for the feedback @liztriden!

  2. I stopped in yesterday and tried on as much as I could in the short time frame I had. My store had a new arrival event - 20% if you spent $100 or more and sale is still 40% off in store.

The paisley items surprised me - I liked both the skirt and the blouse and both were TTS. I'm a 38D chest and I didn't find the ruffles to be distracting at all and the skirt worked on my curvy bottom half. I'd like to try the polka dot blouse as well. While I love the wild flamingo color, I don't think the Rhodes pants are for me, I tried a 12 (smaller of my two pant sizes) and they were ok with a top that covered my waist but I wasn't 100% comfortable in them so they're not a purchase at this point. I tried the ruffle Tippi in the bright pink too - cute but not for me. I did order the blazer though and debating since I already have a bright pink Schoolboy blazer if I need another.

I also tried the Edie top in shirting stripe, camel Regent blazer (not new per se but new to me trying it on!) and the Monday dress in fiery sunset which is fitted but a beautiful dress and work length appropriate at my 5'8". I've posted pics and brief reviews of these and the items I mentioned above on my blog here.

I'm working to get another post up of the foulard Margo top, color block striped dress, argyle tippi, leopard shift dress (hated the material - it's weird and shiny poly) and leopard shell (cute but the arm holes are big). I skipped the skirt because the material wasn't appealing and the skirts with the big waist ties tend to not work for me. Overall, though, I'm finding lots to love in the latest rollout but now it's time to figure out what needs to be purged from the closet and figure out the fall wardrobe strategy. Happy weekend!

    5. Thanks! I've been curious about the sizing of the Rhodes pant. Glad to hear you think they are thinker than the wool cafe capris. Did you find the fabric itchy? I really wish they would line the wool pants - I have plenty of older city fit wool pants with lining and they are still going strong.

    6. Hi @Luxette - I didn't find the material scratchy at all - in fact, I have the Rhodes jacket at home and had to double check to make sure the jacket is wool - it isn't that felt-y feeling wool or a thicker boiled wool type feel nor is it smooth like a super 120s, it looks more like a tight woven cotton. I'll try to snap a good close up when I post about the jacket. And I agree about the lining! I miss the days when all of their pants were lined.

  3. I will be up bright and early in the morning heading over to the clearance store. I hope they have some good stuff. They are just starting to transition to fall. Often times, they have fall stuff from last year and I have been able to score items that I missed out on. Can't wait.

  5. Tonight! Yay..it has been too long since I shopped. Does anyone know if the cherries t shirt is on sale? I suppose I could check the website too. I want that shirt. It seems it can be worn all year. I am done buying strictly summer clothes since it is so late in the season unless it is a great deal.

    1. Hi RN, the cherry tee isn't on sale online for Canada at least but not sure about in store. It's included in the 25% off promo though. Have fun shopping, hope you find some great items!

  6. I wish I could stop in to my store and try all the new items on but everything I want they don't have in my store. It is really pathetic and frustrating! I would say 80% of the new items are not available in my store :/

  7. I saw a really cute sleeveless silk blouse with ruffles in a grey and white cherry print at my store. I can't seem to find this online. Has anyone seen this top or know what it is called? Thanks

  9. Does anyone have any insight regarding the RUFFLED POPOVER SHIRT IN POLKA DOT? It was not available at my local JCrew store. I love the way it looks online, but I am on the fence about ordering it. Does it stay tucked in? Is it bulky? TTS? Are the ruffles at the neck annoying? Thank you!

    2. I generally am not a ruffle person at all and found the shirt to be super cute. I bought it and find it TTS. The ruffles aren't annoying or bulky. I say buy!
