Nisolo and Everlane:
ReplyDeleteNisolo: i have a few of their shoes (huaraches, serena sandals and smoking shoes). LOVE THEM! the smoking shoes require a little bit of breaking in because of stiffer leather, but the others are all comfy right out of the box. went with my usual shoe size. the colors are great. classic styles. super awesome customer service.
i also recently purchased the mendez flats in almond. i bought my usual size but needed to go down half a size. the almond color is a great classic nude color and (aside from needing a smaller size) they were super comfy. sadly, they're sold out now, but there are popbacks and i'm hoping to catch the right size.

Everlane: i've purchase a few shirts and sweaters over the past year and i love them. this time around i bought two shirts from the Gia collection and a cotton V neck. i'm usually an XS/S in jcrew and that's what i went with this time too. (the size charts are pretty accurate)
the gia tank in yellow stripe in XS. i was hoping the yellow would be a little sunnier, but it's not really mustard either. the fit is spot on in the XS (always worried about strong shoulders). the cotton is a little thinner than i was expecting, but nowhere near the sheerness of jcrew's vintage tees. solid 4 out of 5 stars.
the Gia tee shirt in Navy stripe in Small: oddly i sized up in this one according to the charts and totally the right call. love the slightly longer length. same material as the tank. i've worn it like three times in the past week. wish i could have grabbed one of the other stripe versions, but they're sold out and not restocking. 5 stars. my favorite purchase of the bunch.
V-neck in cotton in white in XS: although it fits and the size chart is accurate, i do wish i got a small for a baggier fit (the site actually suggests that). thin but not sheer cotton. simple classic. and for only $15, great price. much better than the jcrew tees i have.
only thing i don't like about everlane is the packaging. all their clothes just come in a brown paper envelope. no plastic bag. nothing's ever happened. but i do worry about stuff being left out in the rain and clothes getting stained/ruined. again, excellent customer service.
I've been loving COS recently. Although some of it skews a bit too Scandinavian-edgy for me, I have found a bunch of beautiful tops for work and I always head to their fitting room with 6 or 7 pieces. Today I just bought the Embossed A-line shirt in both colorways. It looks great with my J Crew matte crepe trousers and hot pink leather loafers.
