This is the weekly "Help Style Me!" post, where we can share items we are having trouble putting outfits together with. Elaine (in this
post) says it best, "You know, that thing you
bought because you love it and you keep pulling it
out and then putting it away without wearing it?"
Please
share your J.Crew item (either that you own or
are thinking about getting) that you would love help
creating an outfit with.
Also,
please help out by offering your styling advice. Feel
free to include links to your blog (where you
incorporated that piece) or to Polyvore (where you
showcased an outfit with that piece). Thanks in advance!
:)
Ladies, I love the safari shirt jacket in honey brown. I took a chance and ordered this and I really like it. It does run big as other reviewers have stated and I did go down one size. I think this will be good now and a great transitional piece. Have a store order it for you to get 50% off instead of 40% off online. I plan on wearing this with white jeans for now but it would really go with anything. The quality is very nice. Cutest thing I have gotten in a while.
ReplyDeleteThis is not J Crew - but I bought this skirt last week & I can literally only think of one way to wear it:

It's not my usual style so maybe that's why I am having such difficulties? I picture it with a black tee - tucked in, a dark denim jacket, & black ankle booties. Aside from that... I dunno. I think it's too lightweight to wear during the winter with tights. Any suggestions would be very helpful!
Hey Taylor! I have a few skirts with that same vibe. Great for end of summer, then...? I've found that I like them best with a lot of structure and texture (like you're doing with a denim jacket). That skirt would probably look super cute with a cropped leather or suede jacket, too. Over the knee boots might be a lot of look, but sometimes it's fun to be a little daring :-)
DeleteThat's a really pretty skirt at a great price. It has so many colors in it, I can see wearing it with a top in the blue, red, yellow and white(?) that are present in the pattern. I like idea of a cropped, structured jacket with it, and think a cropped cardigan would also be cute. Maybe a cardi in one of the colors in the skirt over a black tee.
DeleteA tight that is more sheer could work with a black ankle bootie.
Taylor, I think I'd go with yellow or chambray - even a khaki colored bootie might lighten it up too!
DeleteThanks all, great suggestions! Now I just need to get out of my comfort zone & you know, actually WEAR it. (I am more of a pencil skirt girl... my mother named me correctly as I am usually drawn to more tailored pieces!)
DeleteOT-pre-order now works online to see the new rollout.
ReplyDeleteThanks, @AnnaMaria!!
DeleteI posted some summer work outfits with mostly neutral colors (and a weekend outfit) - featuring several J.Crew dresses (striped t-shirt dress, foil leaf Factory dress, and the windowpane tweed dress) - you can see it on my blog here.
ReplyDeleteI am excited to see some of the next rollout online too!
Everything is cute but I absolutely LOVE the tee dress + sneaks look! That outfit is the epitome of casual chic.
Delete@Taylor thanks for checking out my post - those sneakers have become my new obsession! Hope you're well - glad to still see your posts on here :)
DeleteAnne, really good looks for you, and love the pairings. And, I have to agree with Taylor about the tee dress with the sneaks. I don't think I could have done that when I was working - I was way too cowardly!
Delete@bully4kate thank you! The dress and sneaks was a weekend outfit - no way I could swing that at the office! thanks for checking out the blog post :)
DeleteHow does one style an item they receive with the security tag still attached or shoes that have already been worn that are shipped from another store?????😫
ReplyDelete:( pliers and an extra 20% off?
